Looks so meh and uninspired, especially the first shot. Can't decide if the problem is the art or the RT implementation is just broken.

Of course. It's MS and Obsidian

Just watch the trailer. You can spot it a mile off. Did you play the Outer Worlds?

You could tell they were going the 'modern' way in that

Another hollowed out studio I'm afraid.

Bleh :(

Outer Worlds wasn't great, but I really loved Pillars of Eternity.

That's a likely DOA considering most RPG fans will be playing Kingdom Come 2 and the rest will look towards AC Shadows. Both very time consuming games I assume.

So are you guys gonna play it on the Xbox or the Xbox?

well, I will unironically probably play it on multiple platforms, as cross save makes this a non-issue.

maybe mainly on PC for that hopefully better performance, probably on Series X from time to time... and depending on how grindy it is I might do some mindless grinding on my Phone or using my Deck and remote play

so, their new ad campaign applies to me I guess 😭

...am... ...am I an Xbox?...

At the VGA's it'll be up against Veilguard for sure.

This also looks DEI'd up to its hairy fanny as well. I'm expecting Tash to be pissed
Taash is like someone at BioWare tried to one-up Parvati from Outer Worlds. Wonder what self-insert identity we'll be treated to in Avowed

I'm still in to play on gamepass.

I love pillars of eternity 1&2, so I'm going to give this an honest chance.

I'll never get a game day one if they try to make me pay for a couple of days early access.

I'll get it on a sale or when/if it releases on Playstation.

Pretty sure I saw a fleeting shot of my old ass PS Vita in that THIS IS AN XBOX ad.....so will play it on that, lol.

The required specs don't seem that bad actually
The game looks rather unimpressive graphically so it's not super surprising.

Well i absolutely despise the combat in kc2 so i guess i'm gonna play this one instead.

This game is going to be DOA. MH: Wilds releases just a week later and judging by the steam beta player numbers is going to be huge. The new Like a Dragon pirate game is launching at pretty much the same time also. Not to mention AC: Shadows, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and Civ 7 the week before.

Doesn't look too bad but I'm not too excited, specially since Outer Worlds was boring a poorly written imo.

I'll be playing Henry's game instead.

Everytime i see this game it's like a Guardians of the Galaxy meets Skyrim mashup, it does nothing for me visually.

And what is the texture filtering technique or multiplier you are seeing here?
Lazy auto-LOD tiling, but you do you. Visually this game is outdated. Was and still is. It has nothing to do with platforms because I'll probably play it anyway on my Xbox Series 4080.

This has a 3rd person mode, right? Either way, playing on my Xbox Series 4070ti. It's so far away still though.

Not to be a negative nancy, but I feel like the artwork looks *so* much more interesting than the game's actual graphics. I'm always disappointed when I see that awesome-looking artwork, and then see the characters all look like basic D&D characters. I dunno, the idea of *playing* that crazy-looking skeleton seems way cooler than just "a human, or a human with another skin color".

So is the new standard going to be to change the release date and call it "early release" then GP users get it after that? How far can they extend that? Can they say 1 month early is still "early release" and GP users getting it on day 1? How about 1 year?

I don't like this trend of charging to play the game early and then making users who pay for your sub that promises games on day 1 don't get it because it's not the real release date it's the "early release" date. Are they going to add a new GP tier where users get access to games in "early release"?

It's releasing the same time as retail as on GP, they're not bringing up the general retail and pushing the GP date back.

This also makes me hesitate. Intentionally delaying the release for people who don't pay the bribe. Fuck off with that shit.
They are trying really hard to make this industry standard. It's worth nothing when most games are at their worst on launch day. 99.9% of games get better with patches and dlc. Early access has zero value. All it does is gate keep and push fomo. Peak anti-consumer.
