Battle royale in March. The final nail in the coffin :messenger_clapping::messenger_clapping:

Basically most of the content being released throughout the year. BR, the revamped Rush mode, combined Arms should be on the disc day 1. How is BF an early access game that cost 60+? Sure its great to keep content coming and keep players engaged with something new, but this really feels like 30-50% of the game is being held back because they don't have premium pass money anymore.

And these vague dates don't give me confidence. I expect everything to come out as late as possible. December - Jan means Jan 30th. Jan-March means March 30th, and after March probably means sometime in July or December of next year.

So like ... it is going to take 4 months before we get the actual final product? I really love these full priced early access titles.

Well that is the nature of such MP titles, TF2, Counter Strike etc still get updated and added on to til this day, same with WoW or EverQuest.

With MP online titles, there is not concept of "final" until they basically are closing the servers.

Doesn't really apply to something like this as ironically the worst thing they could do is STOP working on it post launch. Its a on going concept, there is not "Final" or "end" or anything like that. People find glitches, people use exploits etc Trust me, if a online game could be "final" on release with NEVER being worked on, it would have already been done. Valve and many other publishers might be proving that the idea of that is actually impossible at this stage in gaming.

I mean....name 1 online game that was never worked on post launch and found amazing success never needing to ever patch or update?

I have been seeing a lot of people say delay the game until March, but I simply don't understand that logic. Pay $60 now and play what is there while playing new content as it becomes ready until March and have X product. Or wait and play nothing now and then pay $60 and play X product later.

You are playing the same product. If anything your $60 goes farther if it launches now since you have the option of playing now. Time value of money principal. A dollar now is worth more than a dollar later = A game released now is worth more than later if in March it is the same content.

Personally I paid for Origin Access Premier so I could play all the new games for a year for $100. That includes BFV and Anthem. I consider that value and the longer I have to wait for BFV the more useless my subscription. Release it and give me free stuff later.

why the fuck do they refer to the roadmap as "live service"? It sounds corporate as fuck. God dammit, DICE+EA are managing this game like ass. They aren't even trying. Hell, call it free updates, or something that sounds like the game its going to be supported for a long time, not something that its designed to slow drip in an artificial way content to keep people playing/paying/not lower the price.

After EA turned the iconic "Star Wars" into a pay2win microtransactions nightmare I've decided to stop buying any new game published by them.
I think, the enjoyment of seeing how EA losing money is exceeding the enjoyment of playing their newest games + it is sending a healthy message to the rest of the gaming industry.

Its not post launch content thats the problem, but these are modes that should be in there day 1. And actually combined Arms was talked about as being at launch at first. DICE already delayed the game, and now its missing modes like Horde mode and Rush. Lets not forget Rush has been day 1 since BFBC1. When COD can launch day 1 with a horde mode with 3 maps and a BR mode its frankly embarrasing.

Either DICE didn't have enough time to make the game, or with no season pass, and no MTX because of Star Wars BF2 backlash, it really feels like they are stringing along the content to pretend they have all this DLC. Also previews of the story mode make it sound pretty flimsy, so holding this story content back is even weaker. Add in no Rush, no horde mode, no tank customization, no BR mode, these are all things that should be on launch not add ons 2-12 months later.

I am still going to buy and play the shit out of the game. I am still playing BF1 to date and will defend that game against anyone. As a long time fan and paying customer I really feel like this is an early access game being charged full price.

If its a few modes that need to be corrected, I'd rather they still release the game and update the modes as they go on.

I have no issue what that....

COD is also launching missing a Single player mode so......yea

lol ok pal.

I still buy any game by any publisher by any developer if its fun.

It would be like me never buying a Sony published game cause they closed down a few studios, or MS or Nintendo or.....EA.

I like Mass Effect series more after EA bought Bioware and the IP.... but thats just me (and millions of others)

Its not corrected, they aren't launching at all. The game won't have rush, combined arms or BR at launch. Rush has been in every BF since BFBC 1! I don't have a problem with maps and new modes, but missing those 3 at launch is convenient with no season pass.

Speaking of releasing the game, If this was the plan I would rather they didn't delay the game so I could be playing it now. If they were going to drip feed all the modes just launch it with Operations and Conquest MP and I would be fine. The game will be full of bugs and balance issues anyways so would rather be playing it early since I have to wait 8-12 months for the actual complete game.

And COD was right to drop the single player. BR is a hit for them, they gambled on that over SP and it payed off. DICE stuck with their boring SP and previews making this one sound the blandest of them all. DICE should of rejigged the war stories into combined arms and got BR and CA along with Rush at launch.

Reviews are going to tear into BF for its lack of content. This is going to be probably one of the worst reviewed BFs. I still have my pre order, and will still play the game. Getting new content added is cool. BF1 has so much more content today as compared to launch and I still play BF1 today. But as a long time BF player I can see through what EA is doing.

You are congratulating COD for removing modes yet mad at DICE for simply not having some modes just at LAUNCH? ummmm ok.

Have fun with that logic lol

"Reviews are going to tear into BF for its lack of content"

and then "COD was right to drop the single player"

lol

praised one for removing mode making the product have less content while still having paid dlc, bashed one for not having a mode at launch while giving its dlc for free.

i would have preferred to have just kept quiet and not added to this thread.

but Patrick Soderlund's response to potential buyers is something that should be enshrined in the annals of marketing history.

"dont like EA DICE's politics? don't buy the game then, we don't want your money"

"we're fighting the good fight"

Shame he resigned.

:D

Never buy a game based on promises.

Always read the disclaimers:

Note that game content, gameplay mechanics, and other Battlefield V aspects covered in this article may change between now and the launch of the game.

Battle royale in March. The final nail in the coffin :messenger_clapping::messenger_clapping:

I don't see America listed anywhere........ WTF IS THIS DICE, you release a fucking WW2 game without ANY United States related content in the near future for your largest market audience?? NO NORWAY, NO STALINGRAD, NO MARKET GARDEN, NO PACIFIC THEATER, NOT EVEN FKING MONTE CASSINO IN ITALY. How the fuck do you have a WW2 game without Russia, Japan, and the United States.

Like hey let's release a WW2 game without U.S content when the United States is our largest market that buys the game. That's a fucking great idea.

I don't even know what DICE is planning since there's no premium pass so obviously there's not going to be as much content as BF4 and BF1. It's too late in the consoles generation to follow a formula similar to Destiny and release full priced expansions.

^Everyone talks about how hyped they are. Proceeds only to get farmed by some dude in a tank or plane on a 89-0 k/d like every other BF only to hate the series again until the next one comes out.

I'm holding out for Origin Access Premium Premium Elite Premium Elite Premium where I can play a year before everybody else for the low, low price of $9999. Only from the minds at EA.

I signed up for EA Access Premiere last night and left it downloading. Can't wait to go back home and play.

Did they ever say anything about the planes TTK? It seemed absurdly low in the beta. I'll probably try this out with EA Access first. Will almost definitely buy, just a matter of when.

Downloading now on the X1X EA Access trial. The beta was pretty solid but I’m not completely sold yet.

I have been a long time BF player with 1000's of hours. I also have played Star Wars so I am a big DICE fan. I see exactly what EA is doing here. If you are fooled so be it. They have no $$$ from premium and they got burned on MTX play 2 win shit with Star Wars. So they are giving "free" content buy basically drip feeding us modes that should be there at launch.

And I never ever cared for DICE SP and I don't know anyone who has praised a DICE SP aside from BFBC2. DICE SP modes are boring and all previews point to this one being the most bland and also being very short. Oh and DICE of course is holding back one of the War Stories so the SP at launch will be even shorter. They did the same shit with Star Wars releasing the end of the story a few months later. DICE would of been better off not wasting time with their crap SP and focusing on getting all the content out at launch.

Its hilarious that DICE can't even have tank customization in at launch LOL. Wow what a great thing to have as DLC, the ability to customize your tank.

I am not a hater on BFV, got my delux edition ready to go Nov 15th. But anyone who has played this series can see what is happening here. I know I will play this game for the next 2-3 years so if the content is rolled out over time it doesn't bother me as much but I am still going to speak out about it. And I would rather have premium which essentially gave me an entire 2nd game then what they are doing now. Premium gave me 16 maps usually so far all I see is 2 maps. And with what happened with star wars, and how I think this game will perform I don't see us getting anywhere close to 16 maps. We will be lucky if we get any content beyond this road map TBH.

If I pre order the game after my trial runs out on EA access, can I continue playing? This shit where games have 3-4 different versions and staggered release dates are confusing.

Did they manage to turn this around? And if they did, was it really necessary to be antagonistic towards your fanbase?
yes they did, and no they didn't.

Also, is the only thing "SJWish" about this game the women? Cuz, getting upset about that is kinda snowflakish. My wife is stoked she finally gets to play as a girl in a battlefield game.

Well I can't speak for everyone that had a problem with this game (although I agree with your sentiment in case it applies to anyone), but for me the initial trailer was ass and looked very Tumblr and far too zany which bummed me out of it and then they got salty at fans and it's EA so I ruled out this game completely. If it turns out to be not a complete flop then I'll be happy for DICE, but still slightly mad that they felt the need to get testy.

I hated the beta, I love the full game. So much more polished and the other maps are designed really well. For once, you quickly find action and the game looks stunning now on x1x

Apologies if this was posted (I don't think it was), but I just saw this on the Origin launcher...

Honestly, I'm completely ok with this. 👍

It doesn't look like there's anything really over the top, and it all appears to be a fine compromise between inclusion and authenticity. I couldn't have asked for much more than that.

On the whole, i feel this game puts CoD:WWII to shame in terms of respecting the war in its totality. Its tone and presentation, its heart, feels genuinely reverent, and I appreciate that.
