What these threads really make me realize is that there used to be so much more diversity in genres and choices for consumers than there is now.

That being said, Burnout.

Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec. Why is this a question? Although I will have an honorable mention for TXR0 for being TXR and being Wangan Racing based.

Project Gotham Racing, absolutely no contest.

GT3 was too gutted out from GT2. GT4 is where it picked back up and PGR is just an absolute legend of a game making it the clear winner.

Was Metropolis Street Racer really 2001? Having bought MSR and PGR on the day of release I'm struggling to believe they were in the same year.

Based on the amount of time I spent on these titles, I'd vote for Tokyo Extreme Racer Zero.

I played that game so goddamn much.

I love burnout....but it didn't get really good until number 3.

And ssx tricky is probably my favourite game out of that lot....but not really a racer in my books.

Got to go with GT3

Theytonaaaahh!!!! Let's flow away!!!

These are MR akita's (from tokyo JAPAN) first impressions of DAYTONA ON-
LINE:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

"I've just bought the DREAMCAST MAGAZINE right now, and
tried 'DAYTONA 2001', it's SUPER!

I've so get used to the relatively slow pace of F355,
DAYTONA was like riding ROLLERCOASTER!

It never drops any frame in both timeattack mode and
arcade mode, and it was VERY same translation of arcade.
Maybe there must be a lot of remake,
according to the
Dreamcast magazine article, but just I couldn't find
where they are, it just me brought the same excitement
I saw it 5~6 years ago.

In that demo version, I can play only Three Seven Speedway,
the oval course. However, it was that DAYTONA I've played!

It is a little bit pity for me that I totally forget how to initiate
the drifting (that is most important in Daytona!) and the tight left
curve after the roulette, I always crash!

I didn't play the Saturn version because I was so get used to the
arcade version, and I couldn't control the hornet well with the saturn
controller nor the racing controller, i just need that heavy steering
and gear of the arcade!

BGMs of DAYTONA are one of my favorite, I was surprised to hear some
machine "SINGING" 5~6 years ago, and they are arranged in the demo
version."

there you have it, IT IS HERE !!
THE DAYTONA WE HAVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR HAS FINALLY ARRIVED !!!
WORLDWIDE NET-RACING !!
AWESOME !!

i will try to get some more views when it is released

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks again to Mr. Akita.

ARE YOU EXCITED YET??

Scoobydoodoodoodooodooo!!

It also had some of the greatest boss introductions of all time.

Some of the wanderer requirements were a pain to do. But I eventually got all 400 rivals. At least it's not like TXR3 where one of the wanderers is glitched where you need a gameshark to race.

How is this even a question? GT3!

I guess if you wanted to split them up between arcade and sim maybe GT3 and PGR.

I played it a lot, but I don't think I ever got close to getting all of them o_O
