BioWare trusts its players and therefore Dragon Age: The Veilguard will not use Denuvo

We constantly get people bitching about DRM and Denuvo on PC and somehow this game not having it is also bad?
I'd say it is the lying that is bad.

Admit that the cost of Denuvo was a factor. Admit that the budget was a factor. Admit that your team has lost so much goodwill with players that you are now required to do everything possible to curry favour. Just don't lie and say that it is due to "trust".

Are they trusting enough to put it on GOG with no DRM?

So, EA doesn’t want to dump any more money into this thing and pulled the Denuvo budget cause ain’t no one pirating this shit.

No, you’re just being reactionary based a few things you may not like on a game that hasn’t been released yet. I’m all for shitting on games when they out and can be confirmed to be trash. I can also go for judging art styles, and settings. But no one here can confirm whether the whole product is bad until the whole product is released and playable.
...but I'm not saying the "whole product" is shit, let alone the fact that this can never be a completely objective verdict when we're talking about works of art. I'm saying the game looks like a steaming turd to me and that's why I'm not buying it.

Ridiculous

Publisher’s done everything to remove as much friction as possible for players and apparently that’s not enough until they make a groveling public apology for DRM that isn’t even in the game?

What ‘goodwill’ have they lost?

That’s more than fair. I thought demon souls looked like shit before it came out, so I always give games the benefit of the doubt until I can play them. But if a game doesn’t appeal to you to even try it, that is a failure on the game.

So.....as a Mass Effect fan how do I earn this trust??? I'm not opposed to bending over if it means I get Mass Effect Legendary Edition back on my Steam Deck hassle free.

Origins is one of my favorite games ever. This is good they're doing this, but I've got no interest in this game at all.

I paid good money for this Dynex!
If it's still on Steam, I'm sure they're still using the DRM option. I will be surprised and very impressed if they commit to it and put it on GOG.

I still won't buy it or play it because the game looks like junk, but y'know...

At this point I see no reason why they dont release it on gog as well. 🤷‍♂️ They could even win over a few more idiots (like me). And while they are at it....they should also put DA2 and DA:I on gog or at least remove the shitty launcher from these games. I wanted to play these two games a few weeks back and than realized...."ah fuck, it still only works with the origin launcher...nevermind".

I can see this game being good. I can also see it being mediocre. Marketing and previews have been all over the place.

The review OT is going to be a bloodbath if the game turns out to be really good

It happened with Silent Hill 2, so it's not impossible. Technically. I think this game is in a far worse state than SH2 ever was, and let's not pretend like the track record for these sorts of productions is any better than what it actually is.

Bro, all the "professional journos" gonna give +2 points coz of game being woke to hell and back, even if its 85 meta from reviewers its true quality is maybe 65 meta if u take away all the brownie points, true measure of that game being good will be users, aka actual sales numbers, steam reviews/userscore on metacritic, steamdata ccu etc.

Those fake reviewers gave 62 metacritic to concord even when game was so bad it got pulled out/refunded after 2weeks by sony itself and had around 25k sold copies :)

SW:O got 75meta ffs and it was/is terrible game, terrible sales numbers and devs acknowledging themselfs in official statetement they will work hard on patching it xD

There are tons more but just giving u those 2 very recent examples of how corrupt those reviewers can be, they are professional asslickers as long as game is woke and published by big corpo :p

Trying to butter me up at the last second huh?

Sorry, art direction stinks and I have no faith in Bioware to write a compelling story.

Also, I feel like that character creator is just... needlessly antagonistic lol.

Not just the top scar things, but there's no olive branch on the other side. If you doing the top scar option, then also give me Dragons Dogma style sliders so I can make Sidney Sweeney or Conan the Barbarian if thats my speed instead.

But when you go "We're featuring top scars... annnnnd the other body type choices are either flat ass or flatter ass. A cups or A cup-ier. Now you'll take it and you'll like it."

It just feels like Im being lectured right at the character creator for liking typical beauty norms the company is dying so hard to rage against lol.
