Silent Hill 2
remake developer Bloober plans to continue collaborating with Konami on future projects after the game releases this month. Bloober is the Polish video game development studio in charge of bringing the 2001 classic to modern audiences. The company specializes in psychological horror and has previously developed games like Blair Witch and Layers of Fear.

As work on Silent Hill 2 draws to a close, Bloober and Konami appear to have plans to continue working together. In an interview with Polish website Bankier.pl (as reported by ComicBook), the Bloober Team president and CFO Karolina Nowak stated that Konami is happy with the work the team has done with their franchise darling. "We can expect that this is not the end of the adventure with Konami," she said (translated from Polish).

Konami can't make a good original Silent Hill game so might as well just keep remaking the original Team Silent games

TBH, I'd prefer Konami checking the player feedback after Silent Hill 2 to see if Bloober is worth collaborating with again. Not to mention that we're flooded with remakes already, with little to no brand new titles.
At least f is in motion apparently.

I guess the remake exhaustion thing, but if they do well I wouldn't mind seeing a 1 and 3 remake. Bloober doing some original stuff seems odd, but if Konami forces their hand like they did with SH2, depending on the outcome, maybe it does really well for them.

I’m assuming the initial feedback they got from press previews /reviews are glowing so they’re convinced to double down.

Thing is it can review well and still sell like total shit.

I think they have shown now that they understand Silent Hill, so I could imagine letting them work on a new game in the series. However I would still prefer if they get story input from either Konami directly or some Japanese author, because there is a big difference between western and Japanese horror.

Isn’t this the case with SH2 remake?

Wouldn’t be surprised if Bloober laid off their author(s) after The Medium released.

My stance exactly. They've shown they can make a good SH game with the support of the OGs (Yamaoka and Ito), using their work as reference. I'm still not on board with 100% Bloober written and directed title.

The one Silent Hill that I feel would benefit from a Remake is 4. There is a lot they could fix and address with it, like mainly making the 2nd half of the game less tedious.
while 4 is joint my joint fave with 2 I really wouldn't mind 4 getting a second chance to shine. I feel there is potential there if they can pull it off.

I’m team AAA Castlevania.

Let’s do a 3D action adventure like God of War 2018. Alucard is main character, young Belmont is “boi!” Dracula killed bois parents. Combat style I want something like Arkham games and also boi gotta transform into werewolf as the cooldown.

That’ll do Bloober, that’ll do. ;)

I'm not really sold on a full western developed new Silent Hill game. Be it Silent Hill 2 Part II (lol) or Silent Hill V or whatever name they would come up.

But, seeing that Bloober did ok with the remake (which I haven't even tried yet, and I'm not that hyped either)...

My question is, what were the problems with Bloober? Bearing in mind all the backlash before the release... Were their previous games that bad?

So we can expect more PS2 era walking and running animations and PS3 era combat physics from Silent Hill going forward. Not to mention ugly character models.

Bloober is a AA studio and SH2 remake is a AA game with sprinkle of AAA here and there (cutscenes and certain visuals). It works for Konami though because they're cheapskates.

Contracts are already signed I assume. "We can expect this is not the of adventure with Konami". I don't think you would say something like that unless you are locked in already. It would be embarrassing if Konami dropped them tomorrow. Wonder if they will happy working so much for Konami? Will they be the new Silent Hill Team? Will Konami let them make something original?

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
Original stories are their weakest point.

Silent Hill 1 and 3 remakes next please.
Even with the Remakes that's my only concern, after the success of Silent Hill 2 I just hope Konami doesn't losen the leash on them.
Not saying they would go all "modern audiences" on us but I don't what Konami to even let them think of it.

I'm sure there is an understanding that Bloober gets to work on Silent Hill because they are going to be faithful to the material. I don't know if Bloober team members are actually big fans of the series and want to remain faithful or it's a mandate. But it seems they nailed it with the remake. If Konami is happy, then I'm sure that Bloober is going to remain faithful to 1 and 3 as well if they get the jobs. It's to their benefit if that's what the fans want. I'm sure Silent Hill 2 remake has/will elevate them a notch or two in gamers esteem. Although it must be said this is proven material they are working with.

Found him boys. The one person on earth staying salty that SH2R is an absolutely incredible game.

It must suck to just be the only person hating on a game everyone else is celebrating and praising.

Just finished downloading, installing, and playing SH2R for about 20 minutes, which were mostly spent looking at all the details. I'll dive back in more seriously when I have time, but, so far I'm really impressed. Runs pretty nice on my 3070 @ 1440, RT on, getting between low 60s - low 70s fps.

I hope we get SH1R in a couple of years, 10/2026.

The OG director of SH2 is on X now. Some insights from him. Is it too much to hope Tsuboyama will return to the series?
