Anyone who puts emotion and accomplishment into achievements shouldn't.
I like seeing numbers go up...
It does things to my brain, makes it happy.

I'd be sad to lose my account, there's a whole history in there.
I don't enjoy trophy hunting as much as I used to, mostly because I over did it during the pandemic and it was just too much of it .
I'm starting to leave some games unfinished... a good thing I think.

That being said, I don't brag about my trophies, I just do it for myself.

Pretty much 0 chance anyone working at PlayStation is behind something like this.

Bad password security on the users part or getting phished. Nobody “hacked” ever wants to admit they fucked up.

Enable 2FA.
Don’t use the same password everywhere.
Absolutely listen if you are told by your web browser or anything else that your password is part of a data leak

Follow those simple rules and you will not get “hacked.”

There should be internal security measures in place at Sony to prevent these types of things happening.

they shouldn't give acces to all your info to every employee it should be based on ranking and access only to those that are trusted and have an NDA signed

Why would an employee record what they are doing?

I did scroll to 5 minutes in.. can't make heads or tales of what they are actually showing.

Of course they'd have serial numbers of devices and stuff like IP address.. other verification info like last 4 of CC (I saw no CC info in the video though.)

But what even is the source of any of what he's showing? Nothing he showed looked like proof anyone from PS was selling info.

I disable any notification of them since their inception lol. I was honestly surprised when I noticed how many of them I got in Tekken

When I first heard about trophies/achievements I thought it was the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. Then I got a 360 and fell in love with it. I never really started going for plats until this gen though.

It's not about emotions, I like completing games and it also works as a log of sorts

Tho, Sony should start cleaning the pile of shovelware trash with easy plats flooding the store so dumbasses stop wasting money on that kind of crap

On the topic of trophies; they add extra "game-ification" to... games. Gives you something to shoot for after "beating" a game's main objectives. I think conceptually they can be fun, but the whole tracking # of trophies or gamer-score aspect isn't really that. People buying $1 shovelware to beat it in an hour and get a platinum trophy out of it so they can add it to their trophy count are not into just adding fun goals to games.

I think we'd be better off if it was just a system for tracking cool things you did that don't all add up to some "score." Games used to do that on their own in various ways w/o any system level thing anyways.

edit: Also it's really funny that this guy is known for farming trophies by giving his account out to other people. Something very against TOS and also a good way for someone to steal your account lol Wouldn't trust anything in this video either way.

Hard to imagine that Sony don't closely monitor their support staff to ensure this kind of thing doesn't happen. Heads will roll if there's any truth to it. If credit card info isn't obfuscated anyone who saved their details on their account will want them removed immediately.

I don't really have much respect for the guy himself though. Achievements and trophies are like a history of the games you've played on these platforms, and by sharing his account to get the highest number he really doesn't have that.
