Must. Have. Hardware. Numbers.
lockload said:The real test for sony is next month and the ones running up to christmas not the month when they lob $100 off the price
If I were you I'd wait in hopes that they paid me.Odysseus said:what if they drop the price $100 every month?
ps3: free by january.
i admit it, i'd buy one.

dyls said:Wait, you wrote this release? Did they forbid you giving hardware numbers (and exact software numbers)? Is this what we can expect on Thursday?
GhaleonEB said:It's going to be interesting to see how the PS3 performance is compared to the 113% increase Sony reported, how the top five retailers fare compared to the NPD figure.
indie85 said:Anyone else getting f**ked off with how long its taking them to bring out numbers? I wouldnt be surprised if we start getting numbers over a month later at this rate.
sionyboy said:I'm starting to think MS will have to drop a bomb at Leipzig to over shadow over NPD news. I mean, Pachter said PS3 sold better, and he's like a Jesus of the video game world.

That's not quite true is it?it's worth noting that the 360 has been outselling the PS3 by a much wider margin in Canada than in the US
sonycowboy said:Whooops. It was, I was using the rounded down figures. When I take into account the whole numbers, its only > 7-1 for the DS vs the PSP.
PSP has really, really slowed down after decent HW performance in Canada in prior months.
It really is sad. I understand bringing in new online sources, and whatnot, but this is just, well, whatever.indie85 said:Anyone else getting f**ked off with how long its taking them to bring out numbers? I wouldnt be surprised if we start getting numbers over a month later at this rate.
sonycowboy said:Yes, I did. NPD Canada runs differently than NPD USA. Different restrictions. How one handles releases is different than the other. That being said, I think you get quite a bit of data out of this one. Outside of getting hard numbers, what else would you want to see?
Jokeropia said:That's not quite true is it?
sonycowboy said:It destroyed the 113% increase when you consider the 1 less week of sales.
Luckyman said:Isn't June and July NPD both 4 weeks?
Destroyed? What what?
that would infer that 360 sales are up week on week too then right?Odysseus said:june covers a 5 week period, july covers 4.
plagiarize said:that would infer that 360 sales are up week on week too then right?
9-1 is about the ratio of DS to PSPs that I've seen. Maybe 20 DSs and 2 PSPs since they launched.Odysseus said:wait, what?
nds 9x psp
gba > psp
what's up, canada?
that's got to be a typo.

Isn't the PS3/Xbox360 fight a bit...moot?
You mean a console with less software and $100-200 selling more than the nearest competitor is not worth discussion :Otrilobyte said:I don't understand why everyone is so eager to see the PS3 beat the Xbox360 for one month, while Wii continues to dominate by more than doubling both of their numbers combined.

I don't know if you didn't get the memo... but the shock would have been the PS3 not outselling the 360 after the chunky price cut. Just like next month will be a shock if the 360 doesn't outsell the PS3.PistolGrip said:Addendum should be added to title - PS3 BEATS 360 OMG!!!
Could be people waiting for the new model. I certainly wouldn't buy one now when I knew the new one was just around the corner.Fuzzy said:PSP drop HAS to be the lack of stock.

Also their money is probably stained with the blood of all the orphans they murdered. Because Sony is evil like that.

Number 2 never really mattered much. Software sales are dismal, bordering on non-existant, almost worldwide.Hcoregamer00 said:Exactly, these sales are unacceptable.
1. It is reasonably priced
2. The game lineup is impressive
It is bad enough that it would sell at a solid number 3 all over the world with crappy software sales, but it is bad if this trend of bad hardware sales is due to the PSP itself instead of shortages.
Going by sonycowboy's month-to-month percentage changes, it uses the same 4-4-5 method the US NPD uses.Fuzzy said::lol
BTW can we get the definitive word on how NPD Canada handles tracking periods? It's been said before that it's done by calendar month instead of NPD USA's 4-4-5 months but I want to make sure.
