CYBERPUNK 2077 |OT2| The Last Samurai [>56K Warning_]

finally finished the game.

kinda cheated the last stretch since i already was spoilered that
there was a secret ending and luckily i had the requirements for it

passed the following hours looking at all the other possible endings..they manage to pack a decent amount of variety considering how generally little consequences there are for your actions in the game..you notice a little more by the end of the game but they are usually very small things.

all in all my judgement on the game didn't change much from what it was the first hours...game is good but doesn't manage to be excellent in any regard..it's not a masterpiece rpg, it's not a masterpiece open world game, but if one is ok with some middle of the road stuff with some lows but also some high peaks, this is the game, overall i would give him like an 8.5

cd project really should spend a little more on hiring good designers and less on production values, the amount of design decisions that are either baffling or just plain incompetent is stuggering fr a game this big..it's something that also happened with the witcher 3, but here it's even worse if possible.

don't know if i'll do a second run...with the game as it is now i see little incentive to do so, but at the same time i don't think they will ever patch the game enough to turn it in what it was supposed to be.

I am playing on the X Box Series X and while it is not perfect I personally very much enjoyed the experience. I don't know how it would be for you. Watch some gameplay videos on youtube that are dated more recently and decide if it is for you or not.
I was drawn to the game via video, despite it not really my thing but not sure how much of the enjoyment people are getting Is because they are fans of the Genre. I love football, but chances are if you are not a fan, you won't like FIFA no matter how good it looks and plays.

I am a fan of the Cyberpunk genre and that certainly helps but I do feel that beneath the bugs there is a great game there. Some people might not see it that way but if you are into story driven open worlds I think you will get some enjoyment out of it and it runs much better on new gen consoles.

Yeah some really dark and fucked up stuff in the game.

There are more crazy side quests, won't soil anything.
That was one of my favorites. My heart was pounding when you were running at the end, from one victim to another, unplugging them from machines. I've recently finished Mankind Divided, and it has some really good quests ( there is also one with serial killer), but it has nothing on Cyberpunk...CDPR really did a stellar job with First Person perspective storytelling: setting up the scenes, npc animations anddynamic, music, background, etc.
Really hope they add more of these detective quests.

I finally finished the game today since launch. Did all of the boring NCPD stuff and gigs; by the time I did the side jobs and main storyline I was a one hit killing machine with a baton after getting bored with guns lol. Overall I’d give it a 7/10.

The good:
👍 The city they made was very well done.
👍 The graphics were great (PC with RTX on).
👍 Main story scenarios were good.
👍 Side jobs were good.
👍 Facial animations and mo-cap were great, can get pretty immersive with the first person view.
👍 Endings were mostly long and elaborate.

The bad:
👎 The NPC AI is so dumb, NPC going through walls, elevators. Jackie went through the elevator in my playthrough (wtf).
👎 Police AI is a joke, they spawn right behind you. Getting away from them is a joke too, all you have to do is run or sprint for like 5 seconds and they’ll stop chasing you. Too many donuts consumed I guess? (jk).
👎 Bugs breaking immersion sometimes. Half of the NPCs would completely disappear after almost running them over (latest patch kind of fixed this in 1.12). Had some rare occurrences when some random vehicle would flip up 15ft in the air at a distance for no reason (lol).
👎 Driving mechanics. Can't pitch up or down on motorcycles (seriously? GTA: Vice City had better handling on motorcycles in 2002!).
👎 Gigs & NCPD stuff=Zzzzzzz. I would've cut them in half for more meaningful side jobs or make it discoverable as you explore Night City (Ghost of Tsushima style) rather than bombard you with a shit ton of these icons - Ubisoft style.
👎 Hand-to-hand melee combat is terrible. Also fuck the bball court guy (good thing I had double jump) and the boxing dude.
👎 Gunplay is kind of meh in the beginning, not really a fan of the Destiny style gunplay.

Neutral:
- Story is alright, not great not bad.

I hope they make another one. Love me some more Cyberpunk.

I am playing as female V for my second playthrough and I just realized she looks like Demi Levato. It wasn't intentional.

Noah did a very solid critique of the game. Huge spoilers, of course.

Finished the game recently and have had a little bit of time to think about it. Overall this is a great game with some rough edges that had (and still has) potential to be one of the best games of the last 10 years.

Some of the things that were obviously unfinished like the police system weren't very noticeable or detrimental to the overall experience. In about 90 hours of playing I activated the cops maybe 3-4 times? It helps that the game doesn't rely on the system for moment to moment gameplay like GTA does.

I could be wrong, but it seems like a good amount of content was cut from this game that hopefully shows up as DLC. About halfway through the game I noticed that a lot of the locked doors in NC were tied to side quests and then another 30 hours later I noticed I hadn't gone back to at least 75% of those locked doors that I had come across. The fact that a vast majority of the meaty side quests don't show up until you're almost done with the main campaign may back this up as well.

Speaking of the meaty side quests those are the best pieces of content in the game. The Peralez story was great and right in the wheel house of what I was expecting from this game. Judy's story was very bittersweet and enjoyable. Claire's stuff was pretty good, and she ended up being one of my favorite side characters. The Delamain stuff was pretty good but didn't quite have the payoff I was expecting, same thing with River's story line, the tarot quest and the fighting quest. After wining the last fight and the payoff was the pro dude yelling at his agent on his phone? OK. Next time I play through the game, I'm completely skipping that quest line

The main campaign is a little too short IMO. I was actually surprised when I got the point of no return pop up for the final mission. After the Japantown Parade heist it felt like the end of act 2 instead of damn near the end of act 3.

Overall I would give the game a solid 8.5 or so (if you're playing on a high end PC). Looking forward to seeing how this game evolves over the next year or so.

i think it's a great and funny way to do changelogs IF people didn't hate you. lol.
i love it though.

Oh yeah it would have been great if it was an actual voice acted news report thing but since the state of the game is the way it is I think being more professional right now would be better.

Not that I hate this it's just my opinion really.

People gave them shit about the text over a yellow bg, they are trying something new. It's immersive I guess. But it's like reading a text file in the game. I tried to scan for a release date. Nothing.

I've been playing the game off and on. Got it running really nice in 4k on my PC.

It's really a great game. The gun combat & hacking-based stealth is a good base to build off. If they can keep doing patches, then put out the "next gen" version, then the DLC. Within a year or two this game will be a totally different thing than was released.

Double tap to dodge always messed me up. Plenty of times where I just want to nodge a bit and i end up activating dodge and blow my cover.

I'm glad they at least fixed that.

Those are great fixes. First fix the game completely, then make dlc.

Surely there's going to be more than this.

Also lol at presenting changing buttons as a patch feature.

let's be honest some people will never be happy but these are good fixes. there are more issues than this sure but it's a good start. it'll take time to fix everything.

and i think it's cool how they've gone about it with a video with in game visuals and using NPC stories. kinda funny :)

"“My choom, Jake, was in a shoot-out with Tyger Claws the other day, when he missed a shot and hit a pedestrian on the other side of the street. In an instant, the NCPD swarmed up on him and put him down. It’s like they appeared out of thin air right behind his back! It’s too brutal of a response for a regular accidental murder if you ask me!”"

Some ok changes, I guess

No changes to the minimap is such a bummer. That's what I was expecting the most.

That's why so many people miss their turn when driving, not because of the actual gameplay

And it couldnt be that hard to fix, right?

Laughed my ass of when I saw this fellow Gaffer there showing all his hate for the game

lol at that guy beating the game and then refunding it. then posting non stop hate for it and then tweeting 2 minutes after cdpr's post. theap99 might be secretly in love with marcin iwinski

list is disappointing but too early to despair since we don't know if general bug fixes were included in the list..to be hhonest i care more that they fix all the broken mechanics and perks that straight up don't work more than them making the police response less immersion breaking...game sadly isn't really immersing per se anyway and i think no amount of patches will ever make it so.

It's just a sneak peek of the top changes/fixes I'm sure the changelog is huge for bug fixes and such.

I do hope they fix the glitch with Jackie walking through the lift door on the first mission though.
Didn't they fix that specific bug some time ago? I'm fairly sure they did.

So instead of spawning the police right behind you, now the game spawns a robot.

And then the police, but further away from the player

Its barely a fix, really. The robot spawning behind you is still lame.

I cant understand how they arent able to implement a system that so many other open world games figured out GENERATIONS ago.

Maybe because walking NPCs cant drive? So thats why police dont come at cars, only walking

Either way ... what an oversight to have such a glarring flaw on their engine, if thats not really possible to implement

I pre ordered the game on PC, I haven't refunded it nor have I played it for more than 2h since it was a buggy mess on my config, but boy oh boy is the way they presented those patch notes cringy, the last thing they need right now is be creative with their patch notes, just gives a list of fixes since some of us have been waiting for months for improvements :/

do you think in gta v the police comes out of the station? they spawn behind you too. just 2 blocks away instead of 2 meters

"Player on a mountain , kills a hiker with a silencer on pistol -> 2 stars"

"shootouts are difficult to enjoy outside of missions due to the outaded ps2 era spawning style of the police in which countless numbers of cops endlessly spawn 360 degrees around the character you play as.Even the police helicopters respawn like 15 seconds after you destroy one."

"I wouldn't be surprised if they were just using a modified version of the AI from the 3D era."

"Its one of the worst systems i have ever seen. You can drive around for 20 hours and not see a single cop. Get 1 star and all of a sudden they are exactly where you are trying to go."

people act as if gta had this amazingly complex system where cops get out of the police station investigate. then they find you. then they arrest you and you go to jail and you have another amazingly complex prison system on top of that where you can escape or strike a deal with someoene or bribe cops, etc etc.

you basically kill someone then cops spawn 2 blocks away and they come and take you out. the difference is cyberpunk is a story driven rpg and in gta doing that shit is actually the game.

Exactly.

I can understand why they did it this way as to poke fun at themselves in a tongue in cheek kind of way but it's not funny when your game is as buggy as it is.

Stay professional, fix your shit and then poke fun at yourself but don't do it during the time the game is a mess.

I'm not saying that GTA police system is complex, but you trying to imply that they are mostly the same is just laughable

For one, GTA cops dont spawn out of thin air on foot. They spawn inside cars. They come driving, left their cars, and try to arrest you. Then if you resist, they start shooting.

If you try to run away, they get inside their cars and they chase you. For more than 30 meters, also.

Cybperunk is not even comparable. Cops spawn out of nowhere, without cars, shooting at you. They cant chase you by car, because they dont know how to get inside a car once they are on foot.

CPDR's solution to them not shooting at you imediately once they spawn? "Throw a robot in there to 'investigate'. It will start shooting at you first than the cops". Wow.

My solution is even better. Remove the police altogether. So people actually play the game. The witcher 3 didn't have a police system.
