Considering the footage they showed was on PS5 and not the Pro id say yes but a lot can change between now and release. But we'll get at least what they showed yesterday on the Pro even if it's downgraded a bit

Just ordered a Pro... Cheers Kojima :)

Yesterday's trailer was captured on base PS5, and Kojima (apart from the initial MGS 4 reveal) has a great reputation for graphical accuracy in his trailers.

Either way, this game will be a showcase for the Pro in the same way that Horizon: Forbidden West (also Decima Engine 2) was.

True, but a bit of extra headroom won't hurt, and as I've had my PS5 for close to 5 years at this point. Upgrading/trading in seems reasonable.

As to the vote thing. Look I said yes, because of basically that one shot of the trailer of the little kid hiding behind the boxes. Which is insanely good.

It won't be downgraded. This was running on PS5 at 30fps which is why graphics are better than the first game (with possibly some light RTGI). I am expecting this at 60fps on Pro, possibly with a 60fps mode with reduced resolution on PS5.
I'd love to know what games are better looking then this honestly.

I imagine if this wasn't an exclusive title the results would look really different.
Exactly. The fact that they are pushing only one hardware is the reason it looks so good. It was also the main reason Demon's Souls Remake looked so good.

Will look even better with the "Death Stranding 2: On the Beach - Director's Cut" PC version.

Yeah...suuure

Sorry but this is a terrible example, you could have chosen much better moments. It's blurry, it's empty and the textures on the ground aren't THAT good. Tessellation is doing the heavy work here to give those textures a nice look. Lightning is great tho.

Overall an impressive trailer.

Cutscenes and characters perhaps, it also has a cool art direction going for it. Enviroments look mid, way less impressive than crossgen Forbidden West on the same engine, doesnt look like itll be the best even just on consoles specifically.

It looks great artistically/visually, but dont mistake visuals (cool artstyle and design) for graphics.

Most impressive game without a doubt. Alan Wake 2 doesn't have the scale. Cyberpunk has several elements rooted in last gen. Hellblade 2 is almost a tech demo, and BMW isn't quite on that level.

Best looking game ever? I don't think so.. but it's definitely up there.

However, it's got to be the most impressive production in gaming. A huge cast of insanely detailed characters, and some incredible artwork and designs.

Great looking game i still would put hellbade 2 1st. It's amazing what smaller studios can accomplish. They are put these big aaa studios to shame. If anything all aaa games should be looking like this at the minimum.

Exactly, DS2 nails every aspect

- Character models
- Character animation
- Envoronment detail
- Environment motion
- Open world

The only thing missing is a day/night cycle

At least put some effort into the OP and include some screenshots or gifs with the things that impressed you visually instead of just linking to yesterday's trailer, which we already have a thread for.

Anyway, John from DF is really hyped for DS2.

I think when you add up the sum of all its parts, DS2 is certainly in the conversation. The character animations look amazing (I especially love the doll), the environments look stunning (we've seen water fluidly destroying the environment, along with collapsing mountains, so it's more than just a static open world), the lighting looks a step up from the original game, and there is an abundance in variety to the characters, enemies, vehicles, etc.,

This game could really sing on the PS5 Pro, especially when you consider how pristine HFW looks on the Pro, using the Decima engine.

this one looks the most striking to me , i have a thing for vistas

No offense but this is the worst part of what they showed. Some seriously aggressive LoD going on here.
Character models and animation it is definitely going to set the bar and maybe the Pro will do better with some of this.

A zoomed in Jpeg cut out from a jpg. We need to go deeper until we reach compresception.

Is this what we are really doing in 2025?
