Is there anything funnier than people on gaf falling all over themselves trying to be the first person to tell everyone they didn't find something funny.

It's a trailer that has a strong focus on trying to be funny. People are commenting on that part of the trailer. I don't see the issue?

As someone with no knowledge of the game's characters:

The "funny guy" isn't funny. Like the writers were trying to do the most generic humour and failed at that

I just want the game to capture this feeling:

They nailed the feeling of mystery, wonder, and open exploration in the concept art. But it never came to fruition in the game, and this trailer isn't giving me too much hope. I'll have to wait until E3 and some gameplay footage to pass judgement, though.

That's a good point, but the smarmy comedy overshadows and even pushes the other out.

I feel the same way with all of your points, I wish Destiny appealed to me, but it comes off like a pretty soulless skinner-box designed to provide Halo-lite to players for as long as possible without any really standout moments.

Dont get it either.

- No Gameplay

- 7 weeks until Gameplay

- No New Planet shown

- Enemy shown is one of the 3 bland ones from the last game

- Try-hard humor

Why should i be excited now?

Because I liked Destiny 1 and I look forward what Bungie will bring with the sequel.

Its not rocket science.

Shady value proposition for players. Bungie/Activision made millions. That's the only value proposition they care about. They'd be insane not to go that route again.
I was hoping they'd just sell more silver/character slots/instant levellers and make all the content free instead.

That's how it's been the whole time, kinda started in Taken King. The really nitty gritty is still there though and I really hope it does get some more emphasis.

Oryx and the Taken had some excellent lore, and so did SIVA. I'm looking forward to them continuing those plot lines, while having Cayde and his antics for the people that don't want to get super serious.

Can someone tell me one aspect of this trailer why i should be or more excited for the game now?

People aren't excited about the trailer.

People are excited about Destiny 2 finally on its way to release. We're FINALLY getting information about it.

Not at all. Just amused at people mining for clues everywhere. Destiny has managed to cultivate a ridiculously invested fanbase, in a positive way. People are already so hype. I hope it lives up to expectations.

I'm not one of those fans, but it's a fun game, especially with friends.

I liked the teaser a lot more, but I thought this was fine too, be there day 1 regardless, looking forward to the beta later this year.

This game absolutely will end with repelling the cabal from earth in the raid and taking back the tower.

Fuck.

Imagine a raise that requires you to fight your way up the tower through all the areas we never saw, the final battle in the ready room.

Give me that and give me a loot locked room that displays my loot and you can have my money. All of it.

Spoiler for Destiny 2

News has it we're leaving our closer planets in Destiny to the further outtee planets and moons of our solar system, especially Saturn
So yeah we leaving to go attack them

I seriously hope D2 is more MMO-ish in that there are more players in the world. And I want a much more populated hub area.

The raids in Destiny are better than anything the entire Halo franchise did, put together.

At least in my opinion.

PC support makes it much more interesting, but will seriously wait for the community reaction on this one.

The first teaser was better. The humor fell flat to me in this one. I'm hoping they give Lance Reddick and Nathan Fillion some better writing to work with. Still, excited to see more.

Because people like Destiny and are excited about its sequel. There's nothing to "get".

I wonder if May 19th may be Xbox Scorpio announcement show.

No love for Switch. To be expected, but if the rumors were correct that over 1000 employees are working on Destiny 2, I wondered if we would see a Switch port.

I wonder if all 3 subclasses will be back or not. I feel like they might scale it back and only have 2, at least in the base game.
I also wonder how much they'll revamp the abilities of each class or if they'll even be the same at all.

Why do one when you can have both? There's a reason their stock price is going up. They're gonna make a killing on this from every angle.

Same, the Tower felt empty as fuck even at max capacity, and the zones felt like a case of WoW's zone instancing on max setting

We've seen all 3 classes multiple times.....or are you referring to the sub-classes?

They're just overdoing it. I think they said to themselves, "Hey, everyone liked Cayde-6 in the TTK expansion. And look, everyone likes Ironman and Deadpool and Guardians of the Galaxy humor. So screw it, let's amp Cayde 6 times 10!"
