Why is this thread so negative? Oh yah cuz it's a Destiny thread gaming side...


I don't get the negative comments about a CG trailer. Bungie has always done this with their trailers all the way back to Halo 2. They don't reveal gameplay/info till their excellent ViDocs.

Also Bungie doesn't really need to build up hype for this game. DESTINY is still played by many, many fans still almost 4 years later. The game has a HUGE following and Destiny 2 will most likely break a lot of sales records...especially since it's on PC now.

It is. There'll be a lot more going on. The core of the narrative is the Cabal assault. Grimoire that came out this week is already hinting at what some of the NPCs might be up to in D2.

Then, like most people who play MMO's, you didn't give too much attention to the quest dialogue. He's the Hunter Vanguard leader in the situation room. His personality, like that of all the NPCs at the tower, came through in his sound bytes from talking to him or hanging out in the room. He's been more forward as the threat to mankind has increased but he's always been this way. It's precisely why Bungie had Nathan Fillion voice him. The same is true of all the Vanguard leaders and even the Faction leaders. They're voiced by actors who are best known for playing the types of roles that the characters represent.

Nah, I believe that was Bungie shoving in personality into a character who was for the most part as shallow as the rest of the game before Taken King, because lord knows the game needed it. Cayde was the best candidate for it considering some of his brief lines in the Tower and its Nathan Fillion. You're selling this way too much as character development.

I do recall the Cabal feeling somewhat underdeveloped in the first game yet they apparead to have the most well set structure of the bunch (being an agressive and active military type species).

Wonder what they'll do with them now. Though the Vex were also pretty darn cool.

Well it does on console - its doesn't mean that it is a sure fire hit on PC. You'd have to wait and see how folks react to it over time. It certainly seems like a game many of the PC audience would like, but it could equally crash and burn if it doesn't compete well enough with other PC shooters that are the flavour of the moment

Dude this game will be fucking huge on PC. Summit, Lirik, like all the big streamers are going to be all over it. Day One twitch numbers will be insane. There will also be nothing of this type of game out around the same time.
