yeah, got 3 disconnect just at the payload part, but then was smooth for a while before another disconnected right in the middle of the 1st encounter.

Salt got world 1st again and Datto missed it by 2 minutes again... kinda feel bad for him but them's the breaks. on a side note, the final boss looks pretty cool.

All our disconnects have been in the first actual encounter. About 5 hours later and we know how to beat the encounter, we just gotta successfully string it together.

We can consistently get to the point where it wants us to enter the sequence, and then it took us a bit to figure out what it wanted. My Glacioclasm has been putting in work on this one.

the dps check on that 2nd boss is brutal... tried a lot of different loadouts but no dice. team have to call it and might try again tomorrow.

Extra day of contest mode? That overrides the normal modes right? Was kind of hoping to make a Sunday of trying to run the raid without the light disadvantage. RIP.

I hate contest mode. I miss D1 where normal raid drops then hard mode later. Can still do their dumb race, but then people wouldn’t miss out or get super frustrated. Second encounter killed the lfg group I was in. I should have left, dude who kept going inside was always falling in holes and dying. Need sleep

Farmed 4 Stasis fusion rifles, thanks to the secret chest and small loot pool (we only finished the 1st encounter), one of them has chill clip, another has harmony and a new perk that gives you reload, stability and handling, also from kills with other weapons, might be some nice synergy.

so, my kid has picked this back up on Xbox and I have no idea what I need to buy him to get him up to day. I purchased Destiny 2 and may have bought one expansion. I'm not too sure. I know he no longer has access to the light thing due to it being removed from game pass. What would I need to buy him to get him up to date?

Yeah when we saw contest mode got extended we decided to call it a day at 2:30 this morning. Caretaker is BRUTAL, but I oddly dig the fight itself.

Theoretically, just Witch Queen. Although the stasis abilities and some of the exotics from beyond light are also very strong. But for now I’d just say witch queen and probably the current season pass. You can always get the previous expansions when they go on sale, which they do a fair bit.

If they’re talking New Light, it’s a glorified tutorial is all, and is basically the only F2P part of the game. If he’s played before I don’t think it’ll ask him to do it.

welp, after trying it with another LFG group, I think I'll call it for me. just can't find a good way to push through that dps check on Caretaker. sigh... oh well, it was fun trying the day 1 experience anyway.

Man we gave our son some extra game time this week to get his hunter up to 1530+ for the raid.... he chose to play Astroneer all day Saturday instead to complete something he has been working on there with his sister for a while. He busted his ass all day Sunday and got his Hunter up to par and into the final boss phase with randos and they just couldn't get it done, one of them kept dying non-stop. He was REALLY upset he couldnt get the day one emblem Like had a total meltdown before bed. I mean it's his fault he chose to play Astroneer on Saturday instead of D2 and he knows that, but it still tore him up that he didn't get it done. He's always really enjoyed the raid content and helps sherpa people that don't have experience etc.

Get Beyond Light (last expansion) + The Witch Queen (most recent as you know). Those are the last two expansions you absolutely need. Get the deluxe edition of Witch Queen as it includes Seasons 16-19.

so, got into LFG and finished Caretaker in a party after the contest mode is over. then went into another party to get the next 2 done. very interesting final boss. the guys I ran it with already got it down so I'm just being the Divinity guy, but I don't mind getting carry so that's fine with me. all in all got gloves, body, bond, SMG and the pulse out of the raid. pretty interesting over all. now need to really get all the encounters down and start grinding.

How do you proc devour on titan. I’m not sure how I’m doing it on my warlock but it’s procced like every 6 seconds.
Definitely liking wells way more than charged with light builds. I have a constant wall of text buffs on the left hand side and even got to dust off my gnawing hunger.

Unfortunately, there just doesn't seem to be much of a playerbase here at GAF. Not sure if the other clan here has one. I've got a clan and would gladly open it up for people here, but we are more console players then PC guys, where the other clan is more PC focused I believe. If there were enough people looking to grow this community and play with one another more frequently we could see about getting a discord going, or I'd open my small personal one up to more of a D2 LFG, but I'm not really super proficient in discord.

Just completed the raid. I'm not a big fan of the mechanics. Too many moving parts. I get overwhelmed with so many things going on.

The raid doesn't look good to me, just having casually watched some clips and explanations of encounters. The pyramids look boring. The final boss looks like a total nerd. I don't know, it just isn't doing it for me. Maybe I'll feel different when I get to actually play it. Probably a sad LFG sometime on Saturday. Would have tried Sunday but not with the extended contest mode.

I think it seems to be pretty active nowadays — I mostly go there for advice on weapons. I have only organized a fireteam there once and it worked out for me.That discord isn't bad, it's also not super active at times. That's the discord that got me numerous awful Day 1 experiences

I need to take the time to LFG today, and I'm not looking forward to it. I don't enjoy all this symbol crap, hated it in Last Wish, and now with even more Symbols. Final Boss just doesn't seem interesting to me. They got everybody with the hook of the Witness, then the raid is featuring some Fanboy of the Witness that kicks high? I will always say that I enjoyed D1 raids far more then D2. I understand a challenge, but that's why hard mode raids were there too. Everybody has a friend or two that just struggle but want to play the game with you, and these mechanics just flat out make people nope out of playing. It's why the playerbase is not at what it once was, or honestly what it should be. Raids should launch at normal mode and be something where you can take a couple of potatoes with you and HAVE FUN!, not need 6 sweats and not enjoy the experience. Now that the consensus is pretty take it or leave it with this raid...what's going to keep us coming back for the season?

To be fair all of the symbols have an in-game name and most are easy to understand and remember. It's not like the last wish symbols.
It just pisses me off when people use silly joke names when calling out the symbols.
The mechanics in Vow of the Disciple aren't hard. But like I said there's so much stuff happening at the same time. And it's hard to carry less skilled players I guess. You can assign roles, but still, everyone will need to do something besides killing adds.

so, a friend of mine started playing not long before and he's having an issue with the mods. seems like the mods on sell from Banshee/Ada-1 had not change much. personally I had not pay attention to those mods being sold so I can't say for sure. anyone knows about this?

Didn't they double up the amount of mods robo-bitch sells? When I was trying to finish my collection it did seem like there were a lot of repeats. I needed one particular arc warmind mod, and she kept putting out the same solar ones over and over. Could just be RNG, but it felt like at some point they weighed it more heavily towards the more useful mods. Protective Light started showing up all the time, along with Radiant Light and Powerful Friends. I haven't looked at her inventory since I got my last mod a few months ago, which I waited something like 10 months on.

What? You don’t want to run your 751st Wellspring, that is the same as it was on your first run to get the Alloys, Red Guns for Glaives (not worth it), and for the 2 other exotic glance patterns.

I think both Banshee and Ada-1 are selling 4 mods at a time right now, but accord to my friend they had yet to sell any of the Elemental Well mods so far. hopefully Bungie would do something about this (HA, fat chance).
did another VOD run today and got the exact same drops I got last week, gloves, body, bound and pulse... for crying out loud... sigh...

haha, honestly, anything but what I already got. some of the other weapons would be nice, especially that glaive or the fusion. maybe the other armor pieces I still don't have yet. but oh well, I'm not in a hurry or anything.
