What I find interesting about this trailer is how much it drives home just home well The Incredibles nailed the Fantastic Four vibe even with the retro future vibe.

I really like this image. It could have been painted by Alex Ross! It even looks like it has photographer Phil Sheldon in it from the classic Marvels miniseries/graphic novel from 1994. It's a really nice touch.

It also has this guy who has a thumb and three fingers.

Hopefully this is a proper reboot in tone/commitment. I care so much more for the Fantastic 4 and Xmen then any of the Avengers.

Things voice was a choice. Well see how that plays out.

Loved just about everything from this trailer. The focus is not on the action or abilities but on the emotions and bond of the team. Thats the right choice for this team; they are primarily adventurers before "superheroes"

So tired of Pedro pascal. I know he wants to work but in every role it is Pedro and not the role.

Can’t agree.

Pretty sure, for example, his performance as Joel in The Last of Us and his role in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent were quite different……unless I’m forgetting the episode where Joel and Ellie get high and become insanely paranoid about every irrelevant thing around them while talking about how they should write a book about all this…….fuck, now I wish that episode existed, that sounds awesome!

Yes they are not doing the same things. But I am seeing more Pedro than Joel or Mando or anything else. I really think him in Wonder Woman soured me on his character work.

Ah, the second WW film and Justice League Snyder Cut are the only DCEU films I’ve not gotten to yet, so I can’t comment on that one.

I've been watching The Venture Brothers and they had an episode lampooning The Fantastic Four.
Is the stretchy guy really that much of an Ahole?

I'd love to be optimistic but something feels off. Looked up the director and it's some TV director responsible for several episodes in some of the most boring TV shows I've ever had the displeasure of wasting my time with (Wandavision, Monarch, season 7 of GoT). I guess it's always possible this will be his breakout hit but I'm not exactly confident...

I hope its good. Not a fan of Pedro Pascal at all so thats a big negative for the film for me, but I love the retro look.

Not sold on The Thing or Sue or Reed. The CGI on Ben especially looks really, really bad.

Is Marvel Rivals really going to be the definitive Marvel interpretation for the forseeable future?
Indeed! The CGI on Ben is pretty bad. And I was expecting the voice to be similar to the first two movies where there I love Ben the most. It feels like he really is on the screen, human and nonhuman at the same time. 🧐🤔

Why would Rivals be the definitive anything?

I agree in this specific case, Pedro just sounds like he is attempting to simply be himself and not a character, which feels off.

I wonder if they should have had him emulate 50s/60s/70s acting. They have a certain cadence to how they talk and way of projecting their voices.
