Might hit 60 tonight. Just started what I'm assuming is the last (6th) HW zone and I'm about halfway through 59.
Not sure what I'll do tomorrow. I might hold off on 3.X MSQ until after I get Redmage to 60. I don't think I'll have enough time to make much progress on that front just tomorrow night, so I may be better served doing some last minute alt class leveling. Don't even have Lancer to 30 for Dragoon yet, for instance.

I'm actually getting pretty hype now especially with it being E3 week too! I'm still torn on if I wanna get Bard to 70 first or jump on the Red Mage wagon. Guess I'll see how Bard plays on Friday and go from there.

Is today the first day for hands on impressions? Can't wait for stealth tooltip related meltdowns.

We should also be getting impressions of the Susano battle as that is the conference challenge this year (although like previous years it will be tuned somewhere between story and EX most likely). Also there is no guarantees the version on the show floor is the one we are getting on friday, the demo station setups tend to be something planned weeks in advance and likely won't have the most current live version on the development side. I expect pre lim patch notes to come out either during or shortly after the live letter, maybe 7 PM PST like has been done in the past.
Precedent for the pre-HW E3 had the demo build there fairly close to live (Bane buff! Flare nerf! Holy nerf! Manawall/ward jerf! Etc) and given that the previous media preview was months old weeks should be a lot closer. I'm largely curious to see if there's a surprise massive change in how the Lily or Confession system works (there won't be), etc. because they like to play top secret with details and the live letter won't have potencies, it'll be interesting to see the design changes between then and now.
I dunno, Live Letters aren't as interesting to me as getting firsthand impressions and/or massive data dumps to read through. And I kind of want to know if the overheat tooltip was fixed yet. I don't expect 100% live fidelity, but the last E3 set of impressions was fun

My friend tried to register the PS3 copy he bought and the ARR code is expired, but the HW code isn't. wtf?

My buddy was not impacted by jet lag and is still on Japan time so so much for playing after he went to bed 
He was cool with watching me do the daily roulette and an attempt at PotD though. Speaking of the latter, gah! Wiped on the boss AGAIN. It's so frustrating to waste all that time getting there and collecting ARMS upgrades only to lose it all at the end. There is just no way to know if you team is too weak before then as the mobs on the other nine floors are so easy to kill. I asked them to kill the adds before the fight started and made sure to do so myself and it didn't matter. That attack is just cheese and I can only imagine you simply have to kill it faster. I feel like I'm never going to be able to finish this run with a PUG team :/ The good news is that I already have a successful instance in my other file so once I have Heavensward unlocked, I'll be able to continue with that but I wanted to finish this last run here on the other file before moving on to hunts and other dungeons. Curse that lvl 40 boss, curse him!

It will definitely be more recent and likely to have near final 'mechanics' for the jobs save for a couple potency changes and tool tip errors to fix. Just saying it still will likely be a couple weeks behind, even when HW released we had tooltip errors that weren't showing the correct information because they kept changing the jobs right up to the last moment. As you said lets see how they play, but at this point I'm not fretting over it too much, we will get to know how they play for real in 3 days time ourselves. I am more interested in people's impression of the Susano fight just because the trial fights have largely been spoiler free save for the recent launch trailer video.

My general preference is blind for fights themselves, because the fun of on-the-fly adapting in this game is an extremely limited resource, wall of text on the meat of mechanics. Tiny tweaks are no big deal, but getting confirmation on the overall execution of the jobs pre-Friday will help me figure out what to try leveling first since at this point I'm bouncing between three unrelated jobs.
The part about figuring out how to use that to kill the thing I'm fine figuring out on my own, since it's only new once. But I am hoping they've had the jobs closer to locked in than they did in the runup to HW because 3.0 was like object lessons in what happens when you push your combat balance issues to so late you can't properly handle your raid.
It's the guy that summons two Bhooj or Bhuut or whatever things, then runs mid and does the attack that stuns everyone and the. Does damage, right? IIRC, it's a heavy hit if the adds are dead, and worse if they're not (I have received a technical correction: Shadowflare always hits for the same amount, but if the adds themselves are up they do another attack during the stun that results in wipe. Same concept!) but it's definitely not cheese. I've solo'd the dude on SCH and duo'd him a couple of times starting at like +30/+30 on weapons so 4 people ought to be no problem. It's definitely doable, but absolute worst case? Sit on a Pomander of Lust and use it to nuke the adds, use Pomanders of Steel to mitigate the AOE damage, etc. You should be able to keep good if until the timer runs out if you can kill the adds and heal up after each scream.

Yeah, I've been checking that too, no luck. Didn't realize it could take a week though, guess I'll just have to wait a bit longer.
The other option is to talk to the Amazon Customer Service directly.
I hear they'll give it to you right then and there if you do the webchat.
Just try that. Reference your order # and it should be quick.

He really shouldn't have bought a PS3 version, it's going away in literally 38 hours. Even if it was a deal, all those codes have probably been deactivated. The HW code was a fluke, if anything.
But you can free-upgrade it to the PS4 version, so if you find a cheap PS3 copy, why not

3.x is so much better. The game keeps evolving. The mechanics keep improving. The dungeons get prettier. The story and writing gets so much more interesting.

No, but that's what I mean - I would bet those codes are being discontinued right now. Like, as we speak. If SE has any sense, a general recall/buyback from retailers has been issued for the PS3 version. The PS3 version will simply not be playable after 2AM on the 15th of this month. That's in 38 1/2 hours.

Our booth (Agents of Mayhem) is in the Square booth, right next to where they have Stormblood. I get to hear the Stormblood theme on loop all day for three days. Also, Yoshi-P is literally right next to me at the moment.

Yeah, that'd probably be cheaper. ...It didn't even dawn on me that I could just make it, lol.
I still have to audition the rest of the katanas from the GCs, PVP, tomestones etc. I wish you could get rewards from quests they added stuff too after the fact since I just found out they just give out Primal Focus weapons around the Leviathan story.

Why would they auto-upgrade all PS3 accounts and keep the campaign active until the end of the year? What about all the PS3 copies in the wild? They are still sold here.
He bought it months ago, but coulnd't play because of personal reasons, but he was looking to start now. I'm guessing it's Sony's fault, since they are the ones that manage the codes in the PSStore...
He's going to try calling Sony and getting it sorted, I hope it works :/

I chatted to Amazon UK today. Seems like they are planning to send them out literally at the last minute. Probably to prevent people cancelling the preorder.

That's correct, that boss. I noticed if you don't kill any adds it's an instant wipe but if you kill them, two will wipe you. Maybe it's simply the healer that's failing us because I had to rely on my own heal and it doesn't heal for that much. The stun is what makes it feel like cheese, I can't do a damn then and then he does that strong attack. By the time I can move it's pretty much over although if the healer quickly healed everyone, perhaps it wouldn't be a problem. I'm trying to remember if we had a healer in the group last night. I can't get my ARMS to 30 because 1. It always wants to give me Armor and 2. I keep losing the upgrades from wiping at the boss haha I do know it's doable as I've cleared a it two or three times without a problem but these last three attempts I've wiped so I was trying to see if there's a strat I could employ if my team isn't up to snuff.
I'm not sure if you are on PS4 and if not, perhaps someone else can answer but if the Item window in Palace of the Dead gets dismissed, how do you bring it back up?

Ugh, that's a pisser, then. Sorry your friend ran into that trouble, but yeah, the PS3 abandon is for the best. It'll help the game a lot with memory allocation.
I hope Sony can help your friend, though I fear he'll get the runaround and get told to sort it with Square.
The normal modes of all three wings of Alexander are really easy now and you should be able to knock them out real quick in this final couple of afternoons. Creator in particular has some visually amazing fights.
