I don't know what a "next gen" game is defined as (such a term has truly been muddied), but the idea was about timing, which why articles speculate this is for whatever is coming next. It's much less about graphics.

Yeah, I was kinda annoyed after JC3 was one of my favourite modern games.

I had to play 4 in a different way than I was playing 3 so it annoyed me like that. Base takeovers were pointless and the mini stunt/ring challenges weren't as good as the wingsuit courses in 3.

The new gadgets were pretty cool and the programming of them was nice, but also I felt like there was less need for variety cause of no base takeovers. The "puzzles" in the temples were a massive let down as well ha.

I really want to replay JC3 with a locked 60fps, but I still have the same CPU as I did back then so not possible yet ha. Hmmm I wonder how it'll run on PS5 Pro with the boost mode, I presume it's locked to 30fps though

Little JC3 trivia for you if you're a fan: There are huge shipwrecked boats (maybe the afloat ones have this too actually ) which have little life raft packages and if you shoot them they pop open into an actual boat you can stand it while it's in the water, it has no propulsion tho unfortunately so you gotta get creative. Thought it was cool when I found it, tiny details like that I appreciate.

What is it about 2 you prefer over 3 if I may ask?

I played 2 around when it came out and didnt really get the fun in it, but 3 I was hooked from the time I got the wingsuit. It was so fun flying around the map forever without stopping, I don't know any other game that have ever matched the freedom and speed of movement it provides.

Then doing the physics interactions, destruction challenges and wingsuit courses. Sure the main mission are boring as fuck for the most part but outside the first few, I didn't need to bother with them for a long long time, ie after about 30+ hours of playing.

I don't think the finished product will look like those screenshots, is my main point. I've played AW2, Cyberpunk, and Silent Hill, and I think A) those screenshots do look like a step up and B) it's open-world, making it even harder to hold that level of fidelity.

I know what your main point was and that's why mine isn't changing. None of those shots look unachievable on current hardware.
