Mario Kart World, official 4k screenshots

I thought I was the only one, which is why I wasn't saying anything lol.

The extremely low-poly textures, especially for environment, is mind-boggling. This is a 2025 "next-gen" game on an almost $500 console, which is more expensive than a PS5 Digital. The trees in the background in one of the above images look horrible.

The saving grace is that the game will be fun AF.
You are like a thread whistle blower. "We are the only ones telling people how it is" etc etc..... In reality this is a massive step up for the series in terms of graphics.

Nintendo are masters of minimum effort, maximum output. The fact they are selling a 2017 Zelda with a repackaged catridge and a new code for way more money than the original price just to play the same game on a new console. I always like watching Nintendo anouncements and seeing people just getting bamboozled at every corner. Only Nintendo can do that, PS or Xbox....if a game doesnt have 60fps, the whole company has pitchforks pointed at it. In the end, it will always sell because its the most common console amongst kids. There are a lot of you adults that buy it but there are way more children out there whose parents would still rather get them a N console thant PS or xbox. Lucky for them, kids dont care about 4K or that the game looks almost the same 10 years later.
They are offering an upgrade path with certain titles. Nobody is forcing anyone into this. I sold BOTW ages ago but might be tempted to go again if I can find a physical copy cheap enough.

Keep on telling yourself it's olnly the kids buying any of this. And on the whole console owners are obsessed with frame rates and graphics. When in fact it's just core hobby gamers that spend far too much tome playing videogames. And then still find time to discuss them on the internet and zoom into screenshots that look great... to find faults. It's a case of peole in bubbles speaking to people in similar bubbles, And even then some do not agree.

It's a PS4 class product running games at 4K. Of course there will be compromises. But just the other day the forum was full of people saying Nintendo would be too cheap to offer 4K, too cheap to ship a 120 Hz screen...

I'm not comparing it with its prequel. Of course, it will be a step up. Why wouldn't there be? There is a generational difference between the two games and two consoles after all.

My point is that these games and consoles are priced more expensively than their competitors, yet these games look at least a decade behind in terms of technology and visuals. The value for money is so much lower here compared to the competition (Xbox, PS, PC, etc.)

The Switch 1 launched for the same $299 price as the PS4, and then the Pro was only an extra $100. It remains to be seen what will happen with 1st party and 3rd party titles since for example Donkey Kong Bananza is listed at $69.99.

Feels like the first time in a long long time that a Nintendo console has had image quality that's on par with competitors at launch. Love it.

I doubt native resolution or texture resolution will be on par with PS5 or Series X, but yeah, it’s great to have 4K at last. I hope console UI will be rendered in 4K as well, when docked.

The game looks like a large leap in scale/size from the last game. I originally was disappointed in the first viewing of the game, but the new trailer changed my mind on the game. The grass though bugs me a little honestly but it probably won't be as much of an issue when racing.

Yeah $450 before tax, $90 games, 256GB storage (LOL!) while for same price otehr consoles have 1TB. $90 for a pair of joycons...you Nintendo fans are really a special money printing breed. Also you dont need to be a pixel peeper to notice on those 4K shots of Mario Kart, the bikes have low poly wheels as in its not a proper circle, the gas tank has low res texture which looks like DooM3 which came out in 2003 and the decal lettering is blurry as well...this is all 4K, its not some decompression or whatever excuse. Sorry, this is a laughing joke. Mario Kart is a first party title, its artstyle is generally simpler but you cant tell me in 2025 they still have low res objects and decals for an ALREADY simpler graphic game.

Also dont use the argument that Im a Nintendo hater as I owned both Wii U and the Switch. There comes a time as a grown man when you know you are getting shafted and want my money better spent elsewhere.

It's a hybrid console. Idk what kind of graphical fidelity people are expecting when you're constrained by battery life and power draw and still have to keep it cheap enough.

It looks super basic. Aloy's spear in Horizon on PS4 has more polygons than any of the scenery in those screenshots. It's all very cute and colorful, though. xD

I was very concerned about the Game and the console the first ime we saw It in the hardware presentation video. I thought It was inexcusable that the Game looked indentical to MK8D. And no, double the racers didn't made up for It.

After seeing the Game in the presentation I honestly think It looks amazing. Its doing ton of stuff with the tracks, the racers and the whole open world at a good framerate with a very clean look.

It also looks fun as hell, with the grinding, wall riding, boats, etc. It looks like they didn't hold back and got in everything that looked fun.

I probably wont rush to get this but if I can get It at a reasonable price down the line i'll be happy to do so.

Tag, you're it.
Shame you can’t play it anymore since nintendo banned it
Whut? I can still totally play it, not only that but I have a 21/9 display and I modded MK for ultrawide. It's glorious and here is some screens I took just now:

Its not, this is a PS4 level machine just like the Switch 1 was a PS3 level machine. That said I'm very happy we're moving on from the switch 1 and the switch 2 having a 120hz, HDR and VRR display is a gift from heaven. This little handheld is going to be a great upgrade over the basic ass switch 1.

I meant a lot of the games are running at a resolution that doesn't have distracting aliasing or blur on a modern display. I get its still behind tech wise vs current gen competitors.

Mario Kart is a social game meant to be played with friends and family. Modding it so you can play alone with better graphics and sneer at console peasants playing it in the joyful company of each other is really quite sad.

1) Sorry but who tf are you to tell me how I should enjoy my games?

2) Who said I'm playing alone? Do you know Parsec? I played with friends in real life and online. No issue at all and I had tons of fun.

3) This is why I haven't turned my Switch on for years: I have a far better experience on PC and I play with my friends thru Parsec. Smash Bros, Mario Tennis, MK, LM3, Mario Party, 3D World etc.... I played all of those on my PC and with friends. Oh btw, here is some screens from Smash Ultimate (not in ultrawide since it was before my new display):

4) When did I "sneer at console peasants"? I just posted some screenshots for comparison purpose but if you ask me, I think MK World looks a LOT better than MK8 on my PC, so get the fuck out with you warrior attitude and go have sex with your plastic box.

I uses those:

Then make sure to change the aspect ratio in Yuzu as it follow:

Now enjoy glorious ultrawide native res gameplay. Be aware that you will encounter some minor visual issues, mainly with the main menu of the games since it's supposed to be 16:9. It's not that bothersome, in my opinion.

But we get this everytime a new Nintendo console is announced. Everybody seems to think they will go cutting edge tech. Nintendo do not do that and certain people complain about the visuals. Rinse and repeat. The vast majority do not care about any of this. This game looks awesome.

No one shall be brought before our LORD David Bowie without the true and secret knowledge of the Photoshop. For in that time, so shall He appear.
They're nice bullshots. Flawless IQ in those pictures which I doubt the final game will have.
Guessing you didn’t watch the treehouse gameplay today. Not bullshots. It looks so gorgeous!

Seriously people. Please stop bickering over petty bullshit. It's why people think gamers are a bunch of sweaty nerds who live in their parents' basement. It's one thing to debate or discuss with civility and humility about a hobby, and it's another to engage in the quibbling and sniveling over pointless semantics and meaningless minutiae of gaming. It's embarrassing. We should be a chill community, not a divisive mob. (This will be ignored but I said my piece.)
