Watched the Treehouse footage of this and is it just me or is some stuff in the distance rather soft looking on those tracks? I don't recall this even in MK8 being the case.

Also the colours seem more muted compared to 8. Also, is this a HDR issue (in the game) because the nighttime is weirdly bright whereas in 8 I recall a night track being truly dark.

It looks good, but I won't deny that I expected a significantly bigger visual leap.

Then make sure to change the aspect ratio in Yuzu as it follow:

Now enjoy glorious ultrawide native res gameplay. Be aware that you will encounter some minor visual issues, mainly with the main menu of the games since it's supposed to be 16:9. It's not that bothersome, in my opinion.

Still a little stretched but much better.

4k wasnt important to Nintendo fans last week, but yeah, things change
Yea that's how it is. 1080p didn't matter for PS3 fans when everyone and their mother could play games at 1080p 60 on PC in 2010, it was seen as pointless and criticized. Then Sony announces 1080p for AAA games on PS4 and all of a sudden 1080p is the most important thing in the world, and Xbox fans are dumbasses because their Xbox one runs games at 900p or lower.

Like clockwork this always happens.

I thought I was the only one, which is why I wasn't saying anything lol.

The extremely low-poly textures, especially for environment, is mind-boggling. This is a 2025 "next-gen" game on an almost $500 console, which is more expensive than a PS5 Digital. The trees in the background in one of the above images look horrible.

The saving grace is that the game will be fun AF.

Textures don't have polygons.

The captures looks clean. So I think it will hold up well if blown up to a large TV set. My only pet peeve is that I find the presentation a little washed out for my liking. Hopefully they give us several sliders for contrast, saturation and the like so we can dial in are preferred look. Far too many console titles skip on such sliders even nowadays, and it pisses me off so much. ReShade resolved this ages ago on PC with per-game presets.

The Switch 1 launched for the same $299 price as the PS4, and then the Pro was only an extra $100. It remains to be seen what will happen with 1st party and 3rd party titles since for example Donkey Kong Bananza is listed at $69.99.

Pretty sure the PS4 launched at $399. The Pro launched at the same price several years later, by which time the base console had become cheaper.

I'm no fan of Nintendo but the games looks phenomenal. I think you'd need a 100 4K Oled to really appreciated the visuals.

I watch this on my 20in 1550p crt. The difference i as clear as it is on my 4k Oled, i dont get why people always try to act like you need a huge TV to see this stuff..
