NO PAIN TRANCE CONTINUE
I woke up and did a 2 hour corse session. What a great way to start the day. Had to hold in my poop half way through so sphincter flex enhanced as a bonus.

Anyone know of a good app to setup your workout plan e.g. reps and/or times and it runs the whole thing start to finish with audible alarms? I hate having to keep going back to my phone after each little internal. I want to just punch in the whole workout, maybe save a Monday workout, then a Tuesday with different focus and just sort of click start and having it run me through without having to interface into the phone again. HIIT style I suppose.

I'll second this question.

Atm I'm scribbling down my schedule on goat hide using a swam feather dipped in my stool.

It works but if there's an app, times are a changing after all

I've made some good progress in the last month or so. I'm starting to see some gains but most importantly I can FEEL it. More strength and endurance. I've been hitting the weights for about 45 minutes 4 times a week. I don't have a lot of equipment so my options are a bit limited but I've been pleased with my progress in August.

Strong Workout Tracker app is my favorite and I've tried quite a few. It does everything you listed.

Will do, installed the app today. Will setup my week, specifically tomorrow morning's workout, and report back after giving it a go.

Nice going. Hope it's to your wishes. I just realized I can do the same for my stretches so maybe I'll give it a go.

Woke up with so much pain in my left shoulder and, well, my whole left part of my back (2 stretch zones) I think I know in part why but who knows maybe I've also slept weird on it

The best thing though was I had Shakira in her prime on my mind whilst using my right arm to move my left arm because it hurted that much.

Going for some dyna bike/crosstrainer cardio today to loosen up

My infraspinatus muscle is severely underdeveloped for almost a decade. Trained through it half a decade. Now it's like I have to train it to let it do it's function. Seeing it's the primary shoulder muscle.. well you can guess the rest.
Just need to up my consistency and shit.

Guess i slept weird on it as well

How’s that shoulder? That description of pain seems…. Not normal. Were you doing certain shoulder lifts?

It's doing better atm.
It's just the grind of stretching and strengthening it that takes dedication and patience. Full recovery could be manifested much faster if I had the funds for weekly dry needling and massage sessions though. I have a squash ball I recently found (from an ex) that I'm going to use to massage it so that will help. It's just annoying; the time it takes that is, before I can really go back to my usual routine.

It's this muscle

8fNqDHa.jpg

Hurts as hell massaging it and every day feels like starting all over again... BUT! There's noticeable progress albeit small.

Keep on keeping on.

Today 80 min stairmaster session with a hoodie on. Soaked.

Did more kettle bells and walking exercises plus push ups . Maybe my mind but my shoulders looking wider. Still have my belly. Though my brother said I’m looking wider also. So I will keep on. Do what I can when I can. Now I have more time when the nippers go to school.

Now each time I do any exercise I think that’s x more than I hadn’t done before.

Hey there, thanks for checking up! All I can say is, yes I'm getting there!

You can probably tell from my years of posting ITT, and the fears I always talked about in them. But after failing for so long and then getting the advice here, I'm simply now enjoying the process. For starters I've become outcome independent, just enjoying going and seeing the progress. It's slow but it hardly matters, all that I care about right now is that I am noticing a difference in size/strength. Before, I lived in fear, I have to be this big or that fit by x point but I've let go of that.

In fact my energy levels are getting better constantly. I said that SSRIs and life circumstances had a lot to do with it but I still think it was ultimately the fear. The last workout I did, I put in some good work and then ended with a 25 minute run. I got home that day and had energy too keep going, so all in all, it was exactly everything I wanted! When I am not in the gym, I am always thinking about my next workout. Another thing that is helping me enjoy it is that now I am going by feel. Since I am at an early stage, I go in an target a couple of muscles and do a set for them then a few compound exercises to get a bit of extra work. Before I was relying purely on the compounds but its easy to plateau on them which can be really frustrating.

Anyways I just want to keep at it now I'll see where it goes. I'm enjoying it so much I don't ever want to stop. I want to get my parents into it, who are older and being poor/first-gen immigrants gave up everything including their health to raise us. I've also lost a little bit of weight too and I measured my waist to confirm.

I said this already but not much has changed in my life but there is a sense of hope in everything I do. There are still problems, problems that screw me over big time but I am working on them. Who knows where things may go from here.

Found a gym by chance next to childcare, just in time for Autumn and shit weather. Only drawback: no free weights, it’s a bit of a hippie zen place.

AKA, a place where people seek out affairs or swinging. Not claiming that's what your doing but that's what almost every establishment with that vibe is.

Don't think so, they mostly go with "everyone should be comfortable going to the gym" and they decided free weights are probably the main attraction for your typical bodybuilders. They also have "women corner" with some machines dedicated to stretching.

Just an fyi. The bottom seems to have fallen out of the home gym equipment market, at least in the NYC area. People are unloading barely used equipment that they bought thinking they’d be WFH forever on Facebook marketplace and Craig’s list. That and an over abundance of supply on Amazon and it’s really never been cheaper to put together a quality home gym. For example I just picked up 345lbs of barely used Olympic plates for $1 a pound. Those were $3-$4 per pound at the height of Covid.

Gyms are over crowded right now TBH and I am enjoying working out at home far more than the gym right now. Forget about trying to go to the gym on World Bench Press Day(Monday)

So if you’ve been thinking about a home gym, get on Facebook marketplace and start looking.

My neighborhood gym looks like a madhouse every time I drive by.

I'll make due in my somewhat well equipped apartment gym.

Also, any of you jokers into Yoga? I've recently started as something to do on an off day...and I've definitely started enjoying it. Kind of a two-fer in terms of a little fitness/flexibility and some meditation time. Its nice.

I put on weight. Or lost some but put a lot on. Let me explain
I Haven’t weighed myself since my USA trip in august But I did today. I put on weight. (Maybe I shifted some weight but it was so much that overall I gained weight if that makes sense)

Well fuck it just gotta be more consistent and strict.

I did 5*3 navy seal burpee’s elevated on the press up side of course. (So they are easier for me) with some light jogging on the spot
And some body weight squats After

No more snacking now, gotta be tough.

Wish me luck I’m 45 soon and it feels like the weight won’t shift. But I can put it on easy as pie. Hmmmn pie. Would like a nice steak and Ale pie right now. Or a pizza. Why is good so delicious?!?

Faaaaaark

Don’t beat yourself up about it. Happens to absolutely everyone. You were on a trip and enjoying yourself! Whatever weight you gained is probably worth it.

For me, during the week I’m pretty strict. Weekends, I’m a bit more loose (don’t go crazy). If I know I’m having a big Saturday night, I’ll fast for Saturday.

Maybe something like that Can help you?

I haven't been able to lift for over a month and it's making me crazy. I have tendonitis in my right elbow from some manual labor earlier this year. It sucks. I've put on some weight since then as I didn't change my eating habits, thinking it would be a quick recovery.

Does anyone mess with meal replacement shit? Huel keeps advertising to me. I was thinking about using them to replace my lunches at work. I tend to eat like shit while I'm at work.

My issue too. I snack like mad. Hurl looks ok but I’m not sure. I sometimes just make porridge when hungry lol. Bung in fruits etc. Then I torpedo it by eating crisps and chocolate

Fasting might do that at work. I know the snacks are the ones doing this to me. But I will try again he eating meals have a fruit and no snacks in between.

Knackered.

I aim to try a 30 day burpee challenge

This guy here

I think he is taller than me and around the same weight/build.
This has motivated me a lot

Not that you asked, but really, focus more on your nutrition. The old axiom applies here: "You cannot out train a bad diet!" Burpees are one of the most metabolically demanding exercises, but you just cant burn off enough calories doing them without addressing your nutrition to make any meaningful dent in your weight.

If I were you, I would focus on getting a sustainable meal plan together first....This sounds simple, but its not if you havent done it before. Im not talking a diet here, I'm talking what you can day in day out stick to.

Once that is accomplished, Id start addressing your workouts. At your point, anything is good (and I don't know if you have access to a gym), but obvioulsy you are going to want to minimize muscle loss while burning fat. This means a little more Dumbbell/Barbell lifts. (But you can do some body weight stuff too). (Yes, what you eat day in and day out will change depending on your workouts).

Get this right, and that fat will melt off you.

thank you for the advice

i have cut out crisps and chocolate and snacks will eat fruit etc for snacks.

but yeah I am sure the diet is my main sticking point as to be fair I have been eating shit in the snacking sense.
I did lose a lot of weight eating healthy before but once I stopped keeping it under control it went back on.

once I get fitter I will add more reps etc to my routine.
at the moment I am seeing if I can actually do the move etc and learning how to.

Ha! Good start. (But I would attempt to go further if you can on the nutrition).

But no rush! You are doing good things and not trying to wreck yourself in the beginning. Man, I've seen it too many times where I see some beginner in the gym with a trainer totally kicking their ass. Sure, it may be good to shed a few pounds, but in no way would that be sustainable for a beginner. As soon as the crash is over, they go back to what they were doing...Weight comes back on. (And they dread working out).

There is so much information out there about trying to be "perfect." The reality for most people is that you can be far less from perfect and just be CONSISTENT (and a little patient), and things will be much better in the long run. Sustainable healthy lifestyle. Most people don't have the time (or the inclination) to be super ripped...that takes years. Most people like to not be fat and not too soft around the edges...This is attainable without going bonkers.

exactly I just want to get my weight down. forget looking like an instagram dude, I just want to be able to play games with my kids and not be winded. be able to do things and not worry about it.

yeah to be fair last time I lost a lot of weight I did some crazy things like work out for an hour plus nearly every day at a gym. I even got fit enough to do a half marathon. then people started telling me how good I looked with losing weight I started to slip and to be honest the chunk of time I took to get fit well time seems something I have less of to spare, so I think why not just do about a mast 45 mins a lot more and something i can do that doesn't require a gym due to not wanting to pay and commit to a gym.. I will keep on chipping away and be consistent

speaking of which today I woke up and forced myself to workout out side doing 10 sets of burpees for three rounds (elevated of course), first round basic burpees with push ups to get a feel for things, second round navy seals, third ten alternating shoulder taps between push ups.
in between I did 12 body weight squats
then 30 dips in total

Tried out a club this weekend since I'm tired of my crowded gym. They got it all, gym, pools, tennis courts, spa, track field, you name it. I moved there and despite how much I'm paying, I'll only be using a fraction of it's amenities. It is nice to go into a quiet gym that's not blaring generic music. Walking to an empty squat rack was bliss. Not sure if I can put a price on that.

I think most folks are like that....and there is so much "fitness" literature out there that isn't really aimed at that, but rather to be "perfect."

Too big of bites just leads to burn out. Plain and simple. 30-45 minutes (with the proper intensity), and eating clean 4 to 5 days a week (not going crazy on the weekends). Is easily enough to get to a great fitness spot.

Why did Lady Jane get banned?

I've been adding the greesing the grove routine when at work, as silly as it sounds I do some bodyweight squats when I need to use the toilet. (private cubicle lol) just anytime I need to use the toilet I do 10 and body weights squats.

thought iu would to it as I am at my desk a lot of the day

Whatever works for ya. I would think some stretching at work would probably be a bit better than hitting a few body squats on the toilet, but you do you.

Try these stretches they really speeded up my recovery with a bit of patience. I've been heavy lifting for over twenty years and injuries are inevitable over time. The part with the hammer I do with a Cold Steel baseball bat as I get a better stretch.😊

You have my sympathies as I haven’t hit the gym for six weeks now because of a horrible virus which felt like the flu. Blood works came back Thursday and didn't show any irregularities. Both me and my girlfriend are almost back to normal now so we will start the gym Monday.

I've been careful with what I've been eating, so no weight gain just consumption for maintenance. I'm going to feel weak as fuck for a fortnight until I find my rhythm again. I've had my flu jab and covid booster so that should help keep me in the gym.

From my own experience anything longer than two months away from the gym is going to be a jolt to the system jumping back in.
