Was solid actually, but any player would have looked good against this Germany team yesterday. I dont know why but we were like amateurs, Chile basically won every one on one and were just quicker and ran more. Vidal was great and better than any of our midfielders but Sanchez was the man of the match. Schmelzer basically looked like a child against him. Anyway, only Neuer was at normal form, but post and bar saved this lucky victory ...

Alexis has been great for club and country all season. Really impressed tbh. He was so bad last season, kinda amazing.

Some players need some time apparently. Sanchez was great in Serie A and I never understood why he was so bad last year. Anyway I hope Neymar follows him.

Mertesacker: "it was a lesson"

We won 1-0, but the game was made by Chile. Our defence was utter shit with Jansen/Schmelzer/Mertesacker and our striker appears to be 175 years old. Pretty sure we'll win the WC.

I hope Team Germany crashes and burns during the WC. Löw needs to go.

I can't wait until the day I can walk through the bowels of the Etihad and be greeted by something like this.

Chile was a brillant opponent though. But you are right Löw was great when he was playing counter attacking. With his obsession to play posession, everything went downhill. We simply dont have enough players for this kind of football. We have Mertesacker in the defence who basically has no idea how to open up the game from the back, we have no full backs. Sorry, Schmelzer, Jansen, Höwedes (who is actually a CB), even Großkreutz, are wasted as they are typical holding players, and lack anything that is needed for posession play and they are bad in one on ones, when isolated from the wingers. Speaking of those, we only have Reus and Götze who are able to play a 4-3-3 that is based on posession, and we desperately need a decent striker. I hope Gomez gets fit soon, as Müller is needed as CAM or on the right wing. Löw has to decide now, if he wants to copy Bayern, he has no real options. Back to 2010 and quick counters with high pressing is the only way to go with those players or basically Heynckes system for Bayern last year.

Nemanja Vidic has chosen Italy and specifically Inter. Gazzetta dello Sport looks at the reasons behind the Manchester United’s captain’s move to Milan next summer. “He selected Inter because he was impressed and convinced by the project of Erick Thohir. He had recieved approaches from Milan and Juventus but he voted for Inter”. The papaer also notes “Vidic has requested a dossier on Serie A, to study the attackers in a special way”.

They took a selfie in a professional environment. -.-

It's how the current generation of celebrities identifies with their fans. In say, the 50s or 60s it was celebrities drinking coca cola that connected them with the average person. Like, Marilyn Monroe drinks the same exact $.10 Coca Cola that I drink. Now it's Twitter and stuff like this.

The entire celebrity culture is embarrassing imo, but fair enough if people enjoy these kind of things. I don't mind the social media aspect of it, but selfies at a supposed 'prestigious' event is just lost on me.

"I saw a headline saying Arsenal are flying the flag for Britain, I kind of wondered where that British involvement actually was when I looked at their team.

It's important that top clubs don't lose sight of the fact that it's the English Premier League and English players should be involved."

Alan Pardew ladies and gentlemen. The ultimate cunt.

A hypocrite obviously, but he's absolutely right.

I like the quote where Pellegrini thought he was in charge of Manchester United.

I agree. I keep a safe distance from celebrity culture. My girlfriend and my best friend's girlfriend fucking love it though.

I don't even know why Schmelzer gets shit again. Löw's defensive tactics were terrible on a whole new level. I first thought that Jansen was fucking shite but then I noticed Großkreutz and Schmelzer were doing the same later, so it must have been what Löw wanted. Both fullbacks moved into the center when Chile was attacking and our defense was very tight in the middle but fucking empty on the wings. Well, the problem was also that Özil/Götze/whoever played on the wing at times didn't care to track back properly.

Chile noticed that quickly, some player always moved to the wing alone, got the pass and could cut in with speed easily, always creating dangerous attacks. And that situation is fucking hard to defend, against a player like Sanchez it's almost impossible. People say Großkreutz looked better than Schmelzer, he didn't. Schmelzer (and Jansen) was just unlucky that Sanchez was on his wing.

Just forget about Manuel's slip of the tongue. He was lost in translation.
It wasn't even translated.

He gets shit because I've yet have to see ONE game in the national squad of him were he wasnt beyond terrible. He gets chance after chance because we lack an alternative and he constantly fails miserably. Its one thing, when the coach has no idea what he is doing, but another if a player is soley reliant on the help of its winger in front him. Neither of our full backs was actually doing something to pressure the opposition and do something for attack. Positions are clear, markings as well. Özil and Götze both are lazy cunts when it comes to defence but in all seriousness, when it comes to Brazil, we have calibers like Messi, Ronaldo, Robben, Ribery, Hazard, Hulk, Neymar, etc. to handle. Sanchez was only training...

By the way, Löw is already (implicitly) blaming the players and is trying to downplay our strength (on paper). I can't believe how a trainer can shit on his own team like that. Publicly.

He really needs to go.

Because its not only tactics that are responsible for the outcome. Chile was motivated, willing to run and werent afraid of one on ones. Löw gets his fair share of critics either, as he is apparently watching too much Moyes games, but all german players on the pitch yesterday did not play as good as they could. A wake up call isnt something bad.

It wasn't just motivation yesterday. Our players should get their fair share of blame though.

Of course, and the tournament is something different, but the core things havent change for more than 2 years now. Our defensive concept is a failure beyond imagination, we are not playing any kind of pressing to get the ball back, we are hilariously vulnerable on the wings and many times through the center, when our center backs are standind too high. And we are losing very easy balls that always ends in a counter attack for the opposition. Yes, Löw is not the right guy anymore, but the basic things should work though.

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much
I didn't see this quote from Levy until now (from our new sponsorship announcement):

“It wasn’t a money decision that forced us to sell him. I easily would have turned down 125 million if we believed that Gareth would have been a committed Tottenham player. I would much rather be sitting here with Gareth Bale in the team, but we are dealing with people. Tottenham is not a club that can consistently pay £50 million for a player. We have to make our players,” Mr Levy said.

We really should have improved his contract in the spring, we might have been able to counter Madrid's classless tapping-up if we'd done that.

Is it true Ozil was booed?

People here in Germany expect nothing less than the Cup. We were fine with 3rd and second places in the last 5 years but we made constat progress until 2012, were we made two steps backwards with Löw switching tactics to posession and since then we are not able to maintain a system that works. Defence is utter shit, tactics are non existent and some players have form problems again and again. We have a few months but I doubt that we could reach the semis with Löw.

Getting back round to playing through Killzone: Shadow Fall. I loved KZ3, but this really isn't a great game.

Still, it's fairly short, so it should be beatable without too many problems. I'll probably stream it later. Just search Feorax on twitch if anyone fancies watching.

It saddens me that you guys feel that way but I do hope you have a strong tournament. Germany is in a fantastic place at the moment when you look at the talent. I do agree Germany's direct game involving clever movement was superior to what we've seen from them as of late.

But that's the point. You need to have some player covering each fullback, especially against the players you mentioned.

And we all know Schmelzer is a limited player in attack. Everyone that has watched him play like two matches knows that you need to play him a ball so that he can run down the wing. No tiki taka shit, forget it. Now, I don't expect every player in the national team to know that, especially considering how highly Löw rates Schmelzer. But what baffled my mind was that Mario fucking Götze who played together with Schmelzer for YEARS didn't play him one single pass like that, although there were plenty of opportunities.

A coach should help the team to get the best out of every single player, especially the weakest one. As for Löw, it is do everything to make Lahm, Schweine and Özil happy. And if we lose, we can still blame the "worst" player. Fucking bullshit and it's so annoying.

He wants to win trophies. There is a 99.9% chance at Juventus.

I'll take him certainly, and I don't even care if he turns 31 next season.

but is he willing to take a (significant) pay-cut like Tevez? And I'm not sure If Moyes/[insert new coach] is going to sell him.

Look at this sexy beast

Stroots is really loving it here! It warms my heart
“I have grown both physically and in terms of experience,” said the 24-year-old.

“Serie A makes you stronger, as you experience things that you don’t get in Holland and get to face big clubs like Juventus, Milan, Inter and Napoli.

“It helps you to realise how best to approach certain competitions
and the fans idolise him, which is quite rare in Roma :p

According to Bloomberg, Milan is looking for buyers.

I would love that. Berlusconi would still remain our president, but at least we'd have some more money. Also, if we're actually going to build our own stadium in 5 years, a new investor would be really helpful.

Why would Berlu remain our president if we sold?

Anyway, we definitely need investment. Berlu won't do it anymore now that he has no elections to win, so hopefully someone from Asia/the Middle East will rescue us. I'd rather a complete sell than keeping Berlucunt though.

I see your point and I dont like it either but yesterdays game was another example of whats wrong. Tactics and player not backing up this system of Löw. Its either the system thats wrong for the team or the team is wrong for the system but when world class players are failing then something is very wrong. Of course the more limited players are the ones that stand out even more in their bad performance.

No way Berlusca sells Milan. I can see his sons / daughters doing it, but only after he dies. He'd see it as a (political, somehow) defeat. Maybe after he retires from politics, maaaybe.

To be fair, I don't think Pardew has control of transfers at Newcastle.

Although Arsenal are doing much better with that now. Ox, Walcott, Gibbs and Wilshire all start regular games these days.

Seeing a lot of public opinion turning on Rooney this morning, finally catching up with my line of thinking. You all mocked me sirs!

He still wants to remain our president and be remembered as the most succesful in the world: being more succesful than Bernabeu has always been one of his targets since he took over in 1986. I can't remember which one (either Galliani or Berlusconi) said some time ago that Milan was looking for some money from outside the current investors while keeping the current board and CEO/president, apparently some offer came through but weren't high enough.

I read somewhere (here. Goal.com and all that) that Berlusconi is trying to sell Mediaset Premium to BeIn Sports, which is controlled by Al Jazeera, which could be helpful for Milan as well. Not sure about that, but I guess that the Middle East is the road to follow. Either that one or Squinzi, but in that case he'd have to sell Sassuolo before doing anything with Berlusconi.

That will definitely happen.
If he EVER dies.
Btw, I don't think he'll ever retire from politics, he'll keep going on with that until he'll be on his death bed.
