3080 - 11700k. 7.5GBps ssd.

on some tracks, with rt on and ultra settings with 4k dlss quality, i can get around 50 fps. but then other tracks, it drops back down to 40 fps with rt on and ultra settings.

ultra settings no rt with dlss off is an easy locked 60 fps. only 75-80% gpu usage. sometimes drops to 65%. RT is way too heavy in this game.
Turn ray tracing down to medium quality imo. Have you tried leaving everything on auto? The game isn't very well optimized as I'm sure your aware so just take the image quality hit at get to 60 for now. No point ripping your hair out.

Not sure on the loading times though, its pretty snappy my end on a similar drive. Not installing shaders every time either.

I'm on a mobile 4090 ATM and get around 80-90fps with 99% gpu usage with just the RT turn down to high.

just did. no dice. 7 times building shaders now.

Why are the loading times so long in this game? I swear it takes over a minute to load the benchmark level, other tracks take 45 seconds to load, and simply quitting out of an event is a long 15 second load. or at least it feels like in the age of fast loading times.

i havent played many racing games this gen but the ones i have did not feel this bad.

RT on ultra with dlss is out of the question. ultra is a locked 60 fps with no rt. i might try high with rt on tomorrow but i am not noticing a big difference.
Its actually quite snapy the menus, and it loads a race in 6 - 7 seconds roughly. The game is not perfectly optimised, there are some performance issues like the cpu issues alex pointed out.

You sure it's installed on your SSD?

A few things.

Didnt hate the idea of leveling up your car in SP and didnt understand the hate till.........Its a rain race and 21/23 of the AI are on rain tires and you stuck on street because of level! WTF!

Graphically not good enough. Your review mirriors in cockpit are decent but in chase cam they are just grey'd out! Same if you are passing a car their side mirriors are grey, not reflecting anything.

The racing line, raytrace reflecting off your paint in hood cam.

Also hate the control of a new car, they wont rotate in the corners, feels like shit till level 10ish, not sure what upgrade exactly but they finally control well. Makes the first 30mins with most new cars feel bad.

GT7 you hit "restart race" 1 sec loading screen your in your car. Here you hit "restart race" 2 sec load to hit "Race Again" 2 sec load to choose postion screen. 2 sec load to load track screen. 3 sec cutseen of all cars at staring line, now your in your car.

One thing thats not worse but just different is the racingline in GT7 is more of a suggested breaking line were here the racing line is MUCH more responsive. As soon as it turns from red to blue you prolly braked too much. Making the racingline too OP. In GT7 it more like "Heres a bunch of red on the ground of this hairpin, do what you want with this info."
Upgrade anti roll bars and chassis as soon as you can. One of them is level 1 and another is level 4. (Can't remember which is which)

Also if on controller make sure dead zones for steering are set to 0.

The racing line SSR not RT.

Why is it building shaders every time i load the game?

Had to restart once because turning on rt settings completely destroyed my framerate then it crashed again after the turtorial races and now it’s building shaders for the third time.

I have the same thing, every time I start the game it’s building shaders for a couple of seconds. So stupid.

Also, this is the first game with DLSS where DLSS does close to nothing to improve performance. Luckily I can get 60 with DLAA but it would be nice to play at locked 90 or 120.

This could be the rainbow six siege of racing games , like how when it was released it was full of bugs but the core gameplay was there , and in a few years it became one of the best games there
It's just now we have to see if the community will wait and how the Devs support this game
If they release 1 track every month and a few cars and events with it and qol changed I'm pretty sure in about a year the game can become a 9.5 out of 10

No way will we get a track a month. Maybe one per quarter. Tops.

Played it for about an hour on my Series X and LG C2. Loving it. Not sure what all the complaints are about, the game feels great.
I don't think anyone has complained about how it feels, it does feel very good. It's the bare bones single player, the car upgrade system, the PC performance, the bugs and all that

Yep, the core gameplay is fantastic. This is the difference between this game and something like Redfall. It doesn’t matter how much polish Redfall receives because ultimately its core gameplay systems are poor and so it likely never find success. But this game has a great gameplay foundation which is the most important thing.

That’s not to excuse all the problems in the game however. The developers should have released a better product. But at least the gameplay is there and with polish and continuous updates the game should get better. But they need to work hard to improve the game because good gameplay is not always enough to save a game. Halo Infinite had good core gameplay but a lack of timely updates and content releases significantly reduced the player count (though it seems to be getting better lately I believe).

Yep I was driving the Supra in the second cup and it felt like shit until I unlocked antiroll bars, and chassis I believe. Made a world of difference.

Is anyone else having issues with the brightness? No matter what I put the slider on the image that is supposed to be invisible is still clear.

I'm pretty sure it's bugged as well. I'm on PC, playing in SDR. I just put it to .30 and left it like that. Looks good enough. I still need to try HDR.

Not sure what you're running, so I'm just throwing this out there...

I decided to try turning off DLSS and RTX altogether earlier tonight and finally have a stable 60 (knock on wood).

I'm willing to forego that for now, but I expect it to be fixed in a patch, and soon.

It blows my mind that there's been zero communication from T10 about the PC performance issues. Fucking crickets.
Im running a 5600/7900xt setup. I can run Horizon 5 at locked 110fps but Motorsport is really unstable on the CPU side. Not using any upscaling nor RT and even dumbed down cube maps to low.

Between this game and Starfield- ooff for MS.

It is strange given its the same engine but I'm beginning to think Playground are Microsoft's best studio full stop. Saying that playing FM now I can say without a doubt the handling of the cars is excellent and its one thing T10 have got bang on.

Sure. But for me and a lot of others, the game is a crash and stutter fest.

Maybe this is all due to DX12? Perhaps it was a mistake? Lol

Must be nice. It takes over 10 minutes for me.

I’m going to delete and re-download the game. The loading is insanely long. Clearly the game didn’t install correctly.

Yup, and night races with all the outside lights , flashing in the dashboard is brilliant, with rain even more . I didn’t have weird AI behavior like insane in videos , like sudden breaking etc .. i thought they drive pretty good.
Not a massive fan of Night Racing. I do love how you see the rain blow across the race track and then how it affects the racing.

I also loved how like in F1 if you hit the curb too hard, it can damage your car

There's yas marina in November and another one in December let's see how they do it , a track in a quarter is just not enough with this thin line of tracks at launch
Likely held back from this release to give them some breathing room. Like i said no way can they pump out a track a month. They don't have the man power.

Likely well get 12-16 week seasons themed around something, hopefully. Although looks like they don't actually have a plan, or we'd have a road map by now. Getting Halo infinite vibes here unfortunately, good gameplay but next to nothing else and no plan going forward.

Finger crossed i'm wrong as the game has lots of potential.

Looking forward to this Formula Mazda event tonight. Tried the car out for a bit and it's fun to drive.
Hopefully they inject new events in and out at a regular clip to keep things interesting. I'd like to see prizes, maybe in the form of skins or cars for finishing on the podiums online. Give us something to aim for other than just credits.

Are we really going to have to put up with your shilling ass trawling the internet for hours a day just so you can spam the OT of a game you never had intentions of playing, made by a company you childishly hate, with any dogshit negative opinions you can find all because the game didn't score low enough on metacritic for you?

Straight up fuck off out of here. You have no business in this thread.

Got to say, even though the career is going to get old real fast, the actual racing and physics are amazing. Besides that god awful Virgina Track, every other track is fun to race around, because of the update physics. I used to hate Silverstone but it's now fun to race around.

I do really hope they streamline things, like allow us to restart a race right away, rather than having to exit the entire race.
