I don’t know if a lot of you here remember, but both Project Cars and Project Cars 2 had pretty good campaigns that made you feel like you were actually a racing driver competing in a series and eventually a championship. Even small things like seeing virtual social media accounts reacting to your performance from the last race, or how well another driver did, and you receiving various emails from your engineer, and offers from different teams really went a long way to making those games feel immersive in the motorsport world.
That’s what I would love for FM to have. I love the series, but if it’s gonna have Motorsport in the name, then it needs to focus more on actual motorsport things. Race weekends, pit strategies, teammates, racing series, longer races, in-game engineers talking to you, more focus on race cars throughout the campaign etc. I know FM has never been a genuine “sim”, but let’s still take the good things from amazing sim racers like ACC and Project Cars 1-2, and even the F1 games, and implement them here with a Forza spin. This is Forza Motorsport, embrace that subtitle.
Functional pits, fuel and tire choices, and penalties are a good step, though.
