Just tried Sophy (professional) on Spa with (what is quickly becoming my favourite car) the Ferrari Italia 458. Awesome race, and I was up and down the positions like never before. I slightly misjudged one corner and went from 7th to 18th 😂. I ended up in 4th by the end. I didn’t drive as well as I can, but it was a fun race nonetheless.

Weekly events?

Okay Polyphony Digital...let's go. I'll play this every week now.

Seriously...i have yet to uninstall this game and i have it since release. By the end of this gen it could probably end up being the most played game of this gen for me.

Incredible work. This is how you do a live service game right. (even if Sony doesn't consider this a live service game, lmao)

The effects of the HDR on the sunlit snow are fantastic. Same goes for the nighttime lights which are very moody. When you can't stop playing Lake Louise because it looks so good.

Better rendering options, better camera altitude and a bigger shutter range make the industry leading photomode even better. The shots you can pull of now are crazy. Seriously i thought i could give this a rest but it seems to be an ongoing obsession.

Would have never imagined to have Sophy integrated as we have it now in GT7's entire lifetime, but here we are. Just shows how much different a racing game can be with proper AI and makes one very excited to think how the next iteration of Gran Turismo will be like. Curious if they manage to get it into custom races. Some longer races would be nice... and a tiny bit faster. But we are getting there.

Even without Sophy the newest event additions from the Clubman Cup+ and GT Cup Gr.3 show we can have challenging races with the default AI.

Love the Master Licences.

I still haven’t bought two of the three legendary cars yet, so this increase in credits will defo come in useful. The problem I have is that I just want to own every car, so I’ve never saved more than 3 or 4 million credits at a time. I believe you can earn 1.7 million credits in 25 minutes by swapping an engine in the Abarth, and racing one of the vision cars on an oval. I may need to try that because I also need to complete the so many miles on an oval track trophy.

The Bugatti Veyron can only be acquired through an invitation which are tied to the ticket system.

In other words, pure luck.

I myself miss the Citroën GT Road Car because of that.

After trying to give FM some time despite it still being broken for me, wow what a nice change of pace and overall experience. I forgot how well GT plays and is presented. The weekly challenges are a nice extra for a predominantly SP user

Yea.... Forza Motorsport is Gran Turismo at home basically.

Polyphony Digital set the bar so high that now it feels like Forza is a generation behind.

That track is beautiful!! Now we just need more trucks. Ram, updated Raptor, maybe even old school ones like 80s Chevy square body. Also performance ones for road racing like the GMC Syclone, Ram SRT-10, and Silverado SS.

Nismo time trial is giving me a hard time. Pretty sure I can do it but haven't got to connect all sectors. I feel I'm not the only one, as Con_Z_ǝdʇ Con_Z_ǝdʇ 's time isn't too much below the gold lol
VR is amazing in this game.
Did around 40 laps and only got 3 valid times. There is more in there but since you have no room for error because of the walls it sure is tricky.

But I love it. The car is so much fun.

I got a six star roulette ticket yesterday and I was expecting good things but ALL the options were crappy car parts! I was like, "dude I've gotten way better stuff on a four star roulette ticket!!"

Usually the 6* are parts most fo the time and its even more insluting when it tells you thevalue of it and you cant even sell for cash. I mean its great if you are a tinkerer but I really couldnt care less about engine swaps, id rather get cash or a new car.

If it was an engine I could swap, I'd be happy even, but it's just standard parts that cost no more than 30k all on cars I don't even own. I agree, that was pretty insulting.

I also sense a high amount of anti christmas feelings in your post. Don't be a racing grinch!

Got the gold (for now). I know I can improve in that right turn uphill, just can't seem to figure out how to do it: I either kiss the walls or get 0 exit speed. Didn't take a look at the best lap so I have no idea how they got to 1:20.

I've been playing this daily since the update. I had forgotten how boring races against the AI could be. Every race is essentially a time trial with obstacles. Winning is solely determined by your car and not your skill. Every car except the pole position is driven by someone's great-grandmother. I'll try changing difficulty to hard and see what happens.

Cafe is still boring. I do have fun trying for gold in the circuit experiences before each cafe race, though.

Also, the roulette still feels awful. I know each time I am just getting a handful of credits, but they award them in the most insulting way possible.

I think my time with this game is over (again).

Well done! I think your time is safe.

There is a yellow sign with a black arrow as the perfect brake reference on the uphill section right before the long right hander. Then it's a matter of swinging the car in and committing as much speed as possible to the corner. Very exhilarating part!

Definitely have a look for one of the top ten replays of the leaderboards. It's unbelievable what some achieve in these TT's. Also a wonderfull reference in general for every TT. Especially if you compare multiple replays. Although many have similar laptimes, the way they achieve it is quite different.

Pick up a 500 Abarth or a Beetle, swap the engine, tune it to over 9000. Screw up a Red Bull X or a Tomahawk setup with gear ratios. Go to Daytona oval, Custom race, select Tomahawk for everyone except youself. Go over 350kph while the others barely get to 250... the PP difference it misscalculated and you get circa 1.5m (with Clean bonus) for 20 laps race of about 15 min.
He probably got bored :messenger_grinning_sweat:
Wall grinding method is an 'AFK' one, where you just accelerate + turn right to grind the walls with slight speed decrease. Clean race is only affected if you crash into others, apparently.

Yup. Best method for me is doing 1v1 race as you basically have no chance of hitting the other car and the payout is only slightly less.

I rest the controller on my remote controller for my TV and it's the perfect angle for the gyro controls. Use tape on the accelerator and I average lap times of 53 seconds. Roughly 23 minutes per race (set to 26 laps) and an easy 1.2 Million Credits.

I get to the point in the cafe where I am supposed to race a truck on a dirt track. Only two specific trucks are permitted for some reason. One of the trucks is not available in brand central. The other one is. So I buy that truck and go to start the race...

…the prize for winning this race is literally the truck I just bought. So, you need one of two cars to enter the race, and one of those cars is the prize for that same race. It makes no sense.

I got a racing muffler for the safety car.

Thus is my third car part. Anyone know how to see what parts you own? I don’t even know which cars they were for.

No way I'm going to get golds on these Master License tests. I don't think I ever got golds past IB on the normal ones.

Haven't done any of the weekly challenge things yet.

ALSO: Totally forgot about Sophy 2.0. Need to try that too.

Huh? I thought the game only had two trucks and both are brand central, the Tundra and F150 Raptor.
In your garage you can view parts and it tells you the vehicles they go to and whether or not you have said vehicles.
Just got a level 5 weight reduction as a prize valued at 500k so naturally I had to buy that car. :D Weight reduction is my go to!

Completed the Weekly Challenges last night. Did a few more Fiat Daytona Fun Laps and bought a handful of new cars.

That snow track is fun, if not a little too simple. I'd love a track that is a mix of snow and asphalt.
