Why $100? Should be $200 and help the industry X2…
I am sure that it is the first AAAAA game, soo...Fuck it, make it $130 ... the mark of a great publisher is how much money they can extract from their customer apparently.
The purchasing power has increased already, I for one buy 50 times more than what I buy in 7th gen, different time. What I'm saying is it's a lot easier to make money today than before. With inflation, $100 is actually around what a game should be costing soooooooooooooooooooooooo
From 2006 at $60, that is basically $97 or so in todays money
So yea, I think it would help the industry rebound big time. Prices increase all over, as what you are paying for Netflix, Amazon Prime, a Big Mac, Eggs, Milk, a Movie ticket etc isn't the same from 2006, why the fuck would the price of such an expensive medium magically say the same with zero repercussions?
Yet some of you fucking wonder and cry and bitch about GAAS and MTX in games? lol
Increase the price, if you broke get a better job, let the games that fail, FAIL and let the games that make sense, get the reward and wait for a sale for everything else or something.
That $100 makes more sense then many care to admit.
They'll make 100 and more dollars for all the editions they're gonna release over the years, and that people are gonna buy even if they own the original. So, to me it makes no sense. With inflation, $100 is actually around what a game should be costing soooooooooooooooooooooooo

Wait. Let me check. And that’s a good point. For example, let’s say you have a $120-$140 budget for two games coming out that you want. If they decide to make them $100 from this turfing article, then that means you are only going to buy 1 game day one instead of 2.
That’s not better for the industry.

You underestimate how fickle people are.People will bitch but still buy it anyway.
Wait. Let me check.
Yup. That math checks out.

P.S, there will *definitely* be $100 or more costing premium editions and whatnot to the game.
It’s the video game equivalent of white knighting. And it’s fucking retarded. Is this gaming "journalism" stealth simping for price rise?
Of course, it's GTA. Who else could price a standard game at $100 or even $150 and get away with it?People will bitch but still buy it anyway.
P.S. Yeah, I bought the $100 RDR2 Ultimate day 1.
It was only $10 out of pocket though when Sony Rewards used to be banger for getting $5 and $10 PSN codes for earning trophies. That, and GCU from Best Buy. Those were the good ole days.
They need to bring back a form of this.It was only $10 out of pocket though when Sony Rewards used to be banger for getting $5 and $10 PSN codes for earning trophies. That, and GCU from Best Buy. Those were the good ole days.
cyberpunk went well for low performing consoles, not a bad thing getting people to current gen tbh, they are already programming this stuff for 5 year old hardwareRockstar are already pricing out a large number of gamers by not releasing GTA 6 on PS4 and Xbox One. A $100 entry level charge for the game on top of needing overpriced current gen hardware is not only prohibitive but ruinous for such potential customers.
Oh there will be a GTA Tax. It's become basically a once in a decade event at this point and we'll have to open up the wallets to experience it.
I mentioned to my brother Solarstrike after we watched the first trailer that "I bet the regular/standard version of this will be $100."
Rockstar will justify it with a bunch of sales figures, records, development costs, inflation, etc.
I'm telling ya, be prepared for it. While I don't want to see a $100 retail price on the "entry" level version of the game-I think Rockstar
would be insane not to do it. It'll sell. I can imagine the immense pressure they're feeling via shareholders/etc to raise the price.
My gut feeling is:
Standard "Parolee" Edition -$100 for the "cheapest" entry. Plain game. No extras.
Deluxe "Felon" Edition-$169.99 entry point for the second "cheapest" that will include the game and first year of season pass content.
Ultimate "Shot Caller" Edition-$229.99 for the third entry point will be the game, 1 year of season content and 1 year of multiplayer access(yes I said access. I don't think we're going to get free GTA Online with part 6 either) You better believe they're gonna monetize the MP big time.
Basically Rockstar(and again, they'll be able to justify it) will make GTA 6 the most expensive video game to buy ever.
GTA 6 Costing As Much As $100 Could Help Video Game Industry Rebound In 2025, Analyst Says
If Take-Two raises prices to $80 or more, other publishers could apparently follow suit.www.gamespot.com
@That price they can keep it.
