This is incredible, missing music aside. Four Russians utterly shaming the countless DEI hires (Indians) that did the official remaster.
strange, not that dissimilar to mine...3070, 5700x and 32gb ram
Billie Jean is in it... I heard it after about an hourIsn’t Billie Jean supposed to play at the beginning while taking control of the car for the first time? Did they use a version that has missing songs?
Aww too bad.
I'm thankful for what T2 did... cos if this were only a mod and not standalone, I probably wouldn't have tried it.Usually i'm against this, but considering what T2 did, they did the right thig. Fuck T2
Ah, I guess there is a trigger that got lost in translation.Billie Jean is in it... I heard it after about an hour
It's what the GTA definitive versions should've been and what everyone expectedI'll be the judge of that myself
Fanmade shite is rarely worth it
I'm not sure but i've disabled Handbrake Cam in the settings and now the camera doesn't spin around the car when driving into a turn. There's a few small graphical glitches here and there (wonder if they have to do more with the ENB that comes packed in than anything else) and the camera while driving fucking sucks, but aside from that, man is this an impressive project.
it means, "the generation after the previous one"... moving from the GTA3 engine, to the GTA4 one.nextgen ?
With Take Two, shouldn't expect any different. I'm so glad that Sega let's people make fangames. These projects always crack me up.. from reddit:
What in the world do people like this expect lol?
Nice! Apparently there are 6205 Seeding (including me) this right now.
The game works surprisingly well, some cars and the Harley bike have floaty and unresponsive physics, and some car models make their occupants look like midgets... At one point I found it funny that one of the pedestrians took out a cell phone and started talking
It would be amazing if these guys cooperated with some "Vice City Remastered" graphics mod, the game looks dated af.
Where can i download this mod?
Edit: found it, is there already a patch available or is this game vanilla?
I quite like the enb series they made for the game, the game really needs a texture facelift, a PS2 era game at 4k on a 55" screen really brings out the ugly. I need to install this on the Steam Deck...I'm thinking reshade for now until other mods hit...
They re-did the entire game in a different engine. An engine that isn't a part of GTA Vice City.Well, this was originally supposed to be released as a mod-only, requiring the user to own the base game... The expectation would be that owners of the game should be allowed to mod a game as they see fit I guess.
As a result of T2/Rockstar's actions, the whole game is now out there in a ready-to-go state.
Are you always this dense? Is everything ok? I seem to remember your comments being more grounded and cogent in the past. Now you seem to post nothing but incoherent gibberish. They re-did the entire game in a different engine. An engine that isn't a part of GTA Vice City.
This is not a mod, even if they did do some coding to "ensure" that VC was installed, buyers of VC don't get access to the modern engine... because that's not a part of the product.
If it's just files over-layed on top of a game, and those files don't come from a completely separate product, that's a "mod." This isn't.
It's a result of the creators of this not-mod to release the whole thing illegally to the public, not Take 2. It would have been illegal with or without them claiming it was going to check to see if Vice City was installed.
To do a project like this, ask permission, it's sort of obvious what is going to happen.
The original plan was for the mod to require a copy of GTA IV, not VC. Ideally it should need both but GTA IV would always be the priority for obvious reasons. They re-did the entire game in a different engine. An engine that isn't a part of GTA Vice City.

I agree.Damn, shit gave me all types of feels.
Vice City was actually the best of the OG Trilogy and maybe the best of them all.
The hype for more GTA after 3 was unreal. Good times.
Gives me H2M vibes. They stated unequivocally that the game required a copy of Modern Warfare Remastered in order to try to stay sweet with Activision. It didn't help and they got shut down anyway. Then the game files leaked and it turned out you didn't need to own the game. The original plan was for the mod to require a copy of GTA IV, not VC. I understand why T2 tried to take the mod down but still it frustrates the hell out of me.
4 dudes made an insanely better product compared to an entire team with the "Defective Edition" of the trilogy, Rockstar should've just hired these guys and made a deal with them to turn the mod into a commercial product instead of taking it down. Too bad gta online is such a big cash cow that they don't even need to consider more profitable approaches to modding rather than having a full on scorched earth policy...
Because when the modders are developing these mods they obviously have a full copy of the game that's already modified and those are the files that were leaked.Gives me H2M vibes. Yeah, i mean thats how Vice City looked back then.Character models look like shit.
So I had a bit of a brain fart, I appreciate the correction. Are you always this dense? Is everything ok? I seem to remember your comments being more grounded and cogent in the past. Now you seem to post nothing but incoherent gibberishy
GTA Vice City: Nextgen Edition isn’t a mod for GTA Vice City. It’s a mod for GTAIV (GTA4) which brings the world of Vice City to GTAIV.
It's a pretty brutal move on their part, but we're past all stages of acceptance
That would be sweet indeed a Nintendo game remake on PC.My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families, nobody could have seen that coming. I hope you guys remake a Nintendo game next.
Can't stand 80s music??Is there a possibility to make you own Radiostation like in the original or GTA IV?
Don't get me wrong the Radiostations are mostly awesome for what they are in Vice City but i just can't stand those 80s music. Sorry.
Ah not this shit again. I'm just not a fan of this decade, people get over it.Can't stand 80s music??
