Thinking the same thing. 4 seems like it has the best use of color out of any of them so far.

Wow, as someone who didn't really like the sound of the MP from the start, Game 1 has won me over. Shut up and take my money, 343i.

And blue and green and orange and red. I prefer how the grass is lush rather than muddy, I prefer how the rock is vibrant rather than muted. I prefer the Halo ring being crisp than being faded, I prefer starry skies to rainy ones, I prefer the planatery backdrop than the lack of one at all. Everything about Blood Gulch looked better than Haemorrhage, I just wouldn't understand how anyone can consider the latter appealing.

343i have an incredible engine, so why not give it wings?

Look at the 2 gifs i posted.

Looks damn good to me.

No firefight makes me sad. I was hoping for a firefight/forge combo where you could make your own firefight maps. New forge additions are awesome though.

The top was more of a desert while the bottom was more of a mountain pine tree like location.....
Well when you only made mention of liking brown, I'm going to comment on their colourspace. I'd rather it be brown if that translates to Blood Gulch, rather than a bunch of muted colours among puke green grass.

This is only speaking to Reach by the way, Halo 4 looks really good.

Best post of the thread.

I definitlylike the artistic direction the 343i is taking Halo 4. We will obviously have some varied enviroments in this game compared to Reach.

The only forge enhancement that is of any interest to me is the player traits that can be designated to precise areas.

I am still disappointed at the lack of terrain manipulation. I guess it raises the bar of accessibility, but I still feel like it is a lost opportunity.

Hopefully the budget is larger. I spent a lot of time on this and didnt get to finish it :(

Plus it would look a lot better with cast shadows and realtime lighting.

Thoughts:

Love the Forge stuff, really the magnet/lock should have always been there. Sad there is no "undo"

Everything is still Grey? Cmon. Let us color the pieces. I mean it's on purpose now.

Speaking of Grey, the 3 maps looks very grey. Gone are all the bright colors from Halo past. At least on the 3 maps show. Reach was like this as well but this is even more of a dull palette.

Is that a grenade warning in your hud? In Halo? Really?

The Jump/Gravity looks "fixed" in some streams but look "Reach" heavy in others. If these are customs that would explain why but I want a proper jump.

Vehicles look heavy again. I miss the absolute vehicle chaos from Halo past. I imagine that was due to the light weight of them. The Banshee looks and flies just like the Reach Banshee.

Frankie plays Black Ops. That explains a lot.

As it turns out, Certain Affinity worked on the new Forge. The ex-Bungie guys... And its (to me) the weakest part of what they showed of H4 so far. How ironic.

I agree with the notion that Forge seems like the weakest part so far, but only under the basis of it not being much of an improvement. I don't develop games, and personally have no idea how difficult it is to orchestrate something like a level editor when you have a million other things coming together for a game of this scale. Although with that being said, here's some realistic thoughts I have about it:

In my opinion, the thing holding back any major advancement in Forge creation is the Xbox 360 hardware itself. I love the system, but everyone here knows it's far outdated. It's amazing what is coming out now on such archaic systems. I'm sure 343i wants the game to perform smoothly in regards to framerate and loading speeds. I highly doubt that allowing players to alter terrain, and drastically change textures or even have weather effects would be feasible without a highly negative performance drop. I'll be holding out for those major advancements in forge capabilities for Halo 5 on the next hardware.

I know that a full editor is a lot to ask for, and i wasn't even expecting that. But man, at the very least i expected to maybe be able to choose the time of day and change the color of the pieces. I mean ya the hardware is old, but Far Cry2 (i think) has a crazy editor on xbox360 and it handles that fine, im sure the 360 can handle something simple like changing the colors of the pieces and choosing the time of day...

At this point, it seems to me like they're just holding back to sell more forge areas.

Edit: And to the guy above you, nothing ive seen so far about this game makes me feel like this this is call of duty. Other than the fact that theres guns and you shoot people. And more importantly, even after all the new features, it still seems to have the Halo feel and thats a great thing.
