They never made statements that it was an MMO, in all their interviews they indicated that it was a "multiplayer project", meaning it could be anything.I'm just going by most reports online calling it an "MMORPG"
The leaked footage looked very much like an MMO to be fair (although, look at Horizon ZD alpha footage and the final game was very different)They never made statements that it was an MMO, in all their interviews they indicated that it was a "multiplayer project", meaning it could be anything.
Of course. Gotta wait for the official announcement. They never made statements that it was an MMO, in all their interviews they indicated that it was a "multiplayer project", meaning it could be anything.
If this flops, don’t see how Herman survives
That's not how game development works buddy.
Horizon Online is the game that keeps people at the studio's trenches busy while Horizon III spends a couple of years in pre-production, just as any other AAA game. If Horizon Online weren't in the works, that wouldn't have made Horizon III come out any earlier than 2027 either. You have to look no further than to Sucker Punch - a one-project-at-a-time studio - to know that Sony-style open-world AAA games take a minimum of five years to get made no matter what.
We still dont have Horizon Kart, Horizon Party etc.
I'll wait for Lego Horizon Online.
Lego Horizon Online Part 1 Remastered.
I could be (even if I'm not really into MMOs), but we haven't seen it yet, hard to get excited about something we haven't yet seen.Another miserable flop incoming. Absolutely no one is excited for this. Herman should be fired honestly. Completely fucking out of touch.
Yes let's hope for Guerrilla to close down and more hundreds of people to be fired because a game you have never seen, played, etc... needs to flop.Hope it flops.
edited my post accordinglyI could be (even if I'm not really into MMOs), but we haven't seen it yet, hard to get excited about something we haven't yet seen.
Eh? Nobody asks for a majority of new games, if Naughty Dog for example suddenly announces they are making a game set in the Reservoir Dogs universe and the game is being directed by Tarantino himself instead of Druckmann, nobody asked for it, doesn't mean it won't be awesome.lmao they cannot stop making games that literally nobody asked for
next we'll see a gaas Horizon kart racer
Heh, fairedited my post accordingly
Dude, how you gonna have time to play this, concord and arc raiders?
I think they would actually be quite right...We still dont have Horizon Kart, Horizon Party etc.
I'm just picturing everyone flying around on Sunwings.
Or is that going to cost extra?
While I appreciate people that Horizon is getting way too much attention, the universe itself could be really interesting AND originally it was envisioned to be much more like Monster Hunter with the oversized weapons, using machine parts to craft armour and weapons etc. This was one of the first big PlayStation GAAS inititiative games from PlayStation. They hired the Rainbow Six Siege director Simon Larouche back in 2018.
Horizon Multiplayer Game "Horizon Online" Could Arrive in 2025 Per Job Listing
According to a job listing, Sony's Horizon Online, a multiplayer game from Guerrilla Games, could be targeting a launch in 2025.mp1st.com
"While details on Horizon Online remain scarce, it is known that Guerrilla Games, the studio behind the Horizon series, is working on a multiplayer project set in the Horizon universe — a news piece we broke alongside the existence of the Horizon Zero Dawn remaster. This aligns with Sony’s broader strategy of expanding into the live-service multiplayer game space, something the company has heavily invested in recently.
A recent job posting by Guerrilla Games revealed that the studio is looking for a “Release QA Intern,” who will play a crucial role in the pre-launch testing phase of an “online project.” The listing notes that the intern will help ensure the game is ready for launch in the “first half of 2025,” which signals that final testing for Horizon Online could begin soon."
I hope it succeeds tbh. Sony needs successes, we all want it to thrive. Could be good to also really move on from the disaster that was Concord.Massive overhaul in combat is needed, especially melee. But I don't see how it is not eventually a success. Guerilla is a really talented studio. It may take a couple years after launch to find it, but Sony will give this game numerous chances. Like what Microsoft did for Sea of Thieves
They have started with the right foundations:let see how Sony is going to fuck this up.
I can see this already; Horizon Siege fps sim shooter /sThey hired the Rainbow Six Siege director Simon Larouche back in 2018
If it's it good, I'll play it.Who wants that…
If it's it good, I'll play it.
I like the Horizon universe.
Not surprising to see many Gaffers disliking it, most are 50+yo dinosaurs stuck in nostalgia.
About?
You mean like these guys?If it's it good, I'll play it.

And the ones crying about not having enough Astro Bots. You mean like these guys?
I wanted this game to be developed and launched because I want Sony to see that even a good selling franchise can fail as an online game and that this will make them go back in their lane which is to bring good single player games to market instead of wasting hundreds of millions chasing the super-rare GaaS hit.So, raise your hands, those who wanted this game to be developed. And explain why you need it. I'm just curious to hear...
A Monster Hunter style game in the Horizon universe makes a lot of sense to me.So, raise your hands, those who wanted this game to be developed. And explain why you need it. I'm just curious to hear...
What a load of BS. Sony is having more profits than with all the other PS combined even if the generation would stop now. Sony needs to learn a lesson of humility so we can have great variated games again.Sony needs successes, we all want it to thrive.
That's not just on Sony though, Sony has always relied on third party to fill the voids in variety, Sony stick to what they do best. They are now arguably trying to expand that by creating GaaS games and people are now telling them to stop doing that and get back to single player games again, so which is it?What a load of BS. Sony needs variety of ideas as in the PS3 era. Not variety as in single player and multiplayer. PS4 generation of whoops, all cinematic games is a disgrace. That's not just on Sony though, Sony has always relied on third party to fill the voids in variety, Sony stick to what they do best. Again, that's not just on Sony, the only genre Sony seems to ignore now (regrettably) is first person shooters, but there are loads of them by third parties. Their single player narrative games are the big sellers, and Astro shows they can still have variety (and Helldivers 2, and Stellar Blade etc. from second party studios as they call then)Sony needs variety of ideas as in the PS3 era.
