Pretty much, it's PS5+XBS which is down compared to PS4+XBO, mainly because Microsoft just threw in the towel, went third party and the market abandoned their console.

Publishers are trying to sell games that cost $300M+ to make. PS5 install base requires an unrealistic attach rate for such games to be successful. This isn't news. Sony execs acknowledge the problem for first party games too.
Xbox parity clause, Xbox plummets you also have to mention PS5 plummets.

GTV had both the PS3-60 generation and the PS4-XBO generation to sell on.
Even adding Switch 2 to the mix I don't think GTA VI will have the potential console sales that GTA V had.

It's more the overall console user base available to GTA VI may never come close to the one GTA V had across its 2 gens.
Of course eventually pas6 and maybe Xbox 5 come out and get their version.

GTA VI will have plenty to work with. For starters, it will be a huge console seller for PS5. Second, it's going to sell for a very long time.

Even if Sony's numbers fall, you still aren't getting this on PC for at least a year after it launches on PS5.

GTA6 and future price drops can certainly "accelerate" PS5 sales as would a handheld in the PS5 family.

I think this is being taken out of context. Harder doesn't mean impossible. We've already seen that the PS5 Pro is on a 4nm die, while the PS5 Slim is on a 6nm die. We've yet to see what Sony's plans are for either a 4nm or smaller die for the PS5 Slim, but likely either would result in a PS5 Super Slim and a lower BOM and lower price. That they haven't moved to 4nm yet, suggests they might be waiting for greater cost savings with 2nm, which will result in a significantly smaller PS5.
Either way, I think that is key to a PS5 digital that will hit 300 dollars someday. They're already willing to sell the PS5 digital for 375, not long until they're willing to sell it for 350 as is. A die shrunk PS5 Digital will probably go for 350 standard and 300 with discounting (at least initially). I think Sony has a lot of reasons to be confident in the 2nd half of the PS5's life. And there's no reason to rush into heavy discounting until GTA6 drops and fades as a true system seller.
Imagine thinking 18 million in a year is a "low forecast". How many gaming devices have hit that and in how many years? I think you've been pushing this since even last year when you said them missing their forecast was a big deal despite historic high sales of 21.8 million.

PS5 console sales are neck-and-neck with PS4. Everyone creamed themselves over those numbers last gen but the armchair analyst vermin at IGN realized they needed to churn out a clickbait article today.
What's more important than console sales is that Sony are on track to make more money with PS5 than they did on PS1-PS4 combined. That is why Zelnick is unconcerned, because he has a brain unlike IGN.

PS5 is down double digit percentage YoY and is now tracking behind PS4 worldwide. A double digit dip is the definition of plummeting. Xbox though, plummeting is being nice, that system is straight up cratering.
With that said, people thinking GTA6 is going to save the console market are in for a rude awakening. There will be a bump, sure, but no one is having record setting quarters. There's already over 65 million PS5s out there, the market has already begun to capture a lot to the casual user base five years into the gen. There isn't tens of millions of people still stuck on PS4 and XB1 waiting for GTA6 to buy the next console.
