Btw, just learned these tariffs exemptions dont include the previous 20% tariffs. Also, according to a reporter, white house officials said he'll order a section 232 study on semicondutors and will put specific tariffs on chips and other specific materials. So dont breath out of relief just yet.

It didn't turn into a joke until I called him out.

We shouldn't be normalizing and acting like extending term limits is OK in general conversation.

It's a sign we're headed in the wrong direction. Very wrong.
Yes, the world is ending. Our video game toys are in jeopardy. Etc etc. Get some self awareness, step away from the cliff and stop being so one note. Hope that helps.

So you didn't read my posts.

I believe the geopolitical consequences are far graver than video games.

Months ago I joked over prioritizing kicking out woke over the future of the free world. Not an impressive value system.

TLDR:

I don't want to descend into fascism. Hey look, they're telling you they're doing it. On video. With a microphone. Over and over.

"Dude go outside touch grass don't be a spaz"

Haha you are every msnbc/CNN freak combined. Ok man it's over, time to just lay down and die.. That's what you're fishing for. That's litrelly what all you left weirdos want is to sit back and bitch and moan about everything.

When do you just enjoy life? Oh right wait can't, life's the worst

If you want some "relief", running for a third term would be the biggest shot in the foot for Trump. After all, the democrats would just have to put him against 100 charisma Obama then.

Again, my judgements on Trump come from Trump himself. From his mouth. You can assign all the strawmen you like.

It's funny seeing Liberals now strongly against Tariffs. Go back 15 to even 30 years ago. You will hear Democrats like Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and even Bernie Sanders of all people. Saying that we needed to enact tougher tariff policies on China. It was Republicans that used to be against them and wanted free trade. Democrats were saying how we were losing jobs to China and our middle class was being destroyed. It sounded very similar to what Trump is saying. But, because he's now saying it. Liberals are like against it. Lol
Tarrifs are needed for certain cases. Stupidity is not. Trump is a dumbass

Does anybody really need a 6080?
Well this can extend to a $4K 6070 or a $3K 6060 or whatever level of GPU you deem necessary. Go ask all the PCMR people that probably watch their frame counter more then they play the game.

I think most Americans like to pretend that we want American made products but when it comes down to it they will go right back to Chinese/Vietnamese/whatever as soon as they see the sticker shock. That or they will continue championing American made product while buying otherwise behind closed doors.

Nvidia already fucks everyone balls deep as it is. You don't want a Nvidia GPU made in the USA just like you don't want a iPhone manufactured here.

Thread out of danger apple! Nothing left to respond to! I mean, I'm not gonna comeback the same insult twice, come on.
Yeah it's like whatever that dudes name was that was $4K in credit card debt and wanted to buy a PC like 5 times in the past year and expected the thread to not devolve into PCMR vs Console shit flinging after he posts that he returned it because PC gaming is shit.

Trump is an eminently reasonable man, just a little chat over dinner and he'll change his mind on just about anything. Oh, and a million dollars.

"During the tête-à-tête Huang vowed to invest in domestic AI infrastructure, reports NPR."
"Shortly afterward, the company reportedly promised to pour more money into U.S.-based AI data centers, a move that helped ease concerns from the administration."

So he literally got what he wanted then.

Getting what you want by cornering and applying leverage is a mafia way of business.

You all know the story. The one who beats their chest and makes everyone hate him loves the control and thinks he's infallible. Eventually enough people have had enough bullying and band together.

Thinking it's a good idea to behave this way while you perceive to be invincible is a classic trope. This mindset is trickling down from the top to common Americans.

It's cognitive dissonance that we would read the same themes differently here than the 1000 other times we have seen it.

And Biden's wasn't?
Less so but there is a reason Harris was not elected. But even with that the cabinet had infinitely more and better experience. Unfortunately all of that was clouded over by DEI idiocy and bullshit around incessant environmental reviews.

Unfortunately Trump's cabinet is worse as hard as that is to believe.

I don't think the point of the ban was to get Nvidia to invest more money into domestic AI. They would have done that either way lol.
This has been Trump's business strategy for decades and he literally wrote a book about it.

Congratulations, you're describing China.

Congratulations, you're describing China.

Not saying that I'm not

Unfortunately it also describes America.

Something tells me that if Trump sits down with Xi, it's not going to be about making China follow more trade rules and operate more lawfully.

They can keep doing all the same shit with no pressure whatsoever as long as Trump gets whatever he really wanted through coercion.

There are shittons of business and countries unsatisfied with China not following WTO rules, Trump has every interest in making them start walking in the line.

Oh, speaking of, this just came out. What now? Are you gonna accuse the UK of using their power to "bully" China too?

What are you talking about? These plants were about to be shut down, Trump's tariffs being the final nail in the coffin. They met to pass an emergency bill to buy it and save the plants from closing. All the workers are relieved.

Read articles next time.

He didn't write that book and the government isn't a business.
Wrote, co-wrote it, semantics. And some would argue the government is very much a business... or a mafia if it's asked from an anarcho-capitalist.

They literally took the plant from Jingye by force, going as far as blocking executives from entering it. Read beyond the article next time.

On the real, fuck their bitching and their frame rates.

I feel like the people obsessed with getting the latest tech are part of the problem. I've had an iPhone 12 for the past 4 years. I've gamed on PCs with 10 year old graphics cards. Over the past 20 or so years I've watched people become more and more obsessed with upgrades, upgrades, upgrades while simultaneously expecting it all to be cheap. Hell, I've been a part of that. There's a price to all of that though and everybody is happy to pawn it off.

We're selling labor to other countries and at times with ethically questionable practices. We're spoiled rotten with advanced tech that is incredibly cheap. And for what? So people can play a new game that they forget about 5 minutes later or get the latest phone that does exactly the same thing the old one did. Nobody is ever satisfied with it.

We all walk around with secret agent level tech in our pockets and act like we'll die if it's not ALSO hot off the presses. Maybe we need to slow down. Maybe if we do we can appreciate what we have more and hell, eventually we might get to a point where all these luxuries are more affordable again. I'm not saying NOTHING should be affordable, but we need to ask ourselves why we expect all the latest and greatest to be cheap.

Some would argue the earth is flat, too.

And if you're talking about The Art of the Deal, both the actual author and the publisher have stated that Trump wasn't involved in the writing process at all, so even saying he co-wrote it would be a massive stretch.

if no Tariffs on GPUs. why the fk Asus increased the prices of their cards multiple times and same for MSI ??

pure greed and scalping from AIBs

It might be some time before we know that for sure, though I wouldn't be surprised. LOL

You've got to figure manufacturers barely know which way is up at this point, bound to be some confusion for them the same as consumers.
