Isnt it great to see games released that aren't using UE5. How refreshing to have current gen consoles hitting internal resolutions of 1800p.

Edit: And at 60fps!

Absolutely. I 100% believe that if this would've come out a month earlier it would've been Microsoft's first ever GOTY nominee at The Game Awards.

Bit of a shame it released when it did, but oh well.
it will still be on GOTY lists, you know the sensible ones that dont cut off contenders over 1 month before the year is even over.

Is the MS store borked for anyone else? Trying to get a GP sub and I keep getting that stupid “Oops! Looks like something is wrong!” message.

Shut up. You’re a video game box.
Just do it on a PC or a phone if it isn't working on Xbox. Or if your on PC. Just use your phone.
I would think that would work.

Instead of dissing Indiana Jones, Sony fans should start wondering why ND hasn't released a new Uncharted game in 8 years... for some strange reason they keep remastering TLOU for the unempteenth time.

Remember the glorious PS3 era? We had a new Uncharted game every 2 years.

And I'm pretty sure if ND had released Indiana Jones, everyone would wet their pants.

As an avid Uncharted fan, I welcome Indiana Jones and I was 101% sure it was gonna be a good game from the get-go, even though the majority thought it would flop.

Some of us really crave the treasure hunting, lost civilization, mystical theme, with a bit of Nazis sprinkled in. I'm glad Microsoft decided to scratch that itch, since Sony doesn't care anymore about longtime fans.

Not everyone fancies playing Soulsborne games, or open-world RPG collectathons. Enough with the WoW lite crap... we also need fun2play, linear, arcadey games!

I wish I could get a time machine and go back in 2009. Back when Uncharted 2 was Sony's flagship title, Amy Hennig was in charge and Neil Druckmann was an insignificant person in the industry.

t's just sour grapes on your part. You wanted the game to be shit, it's not, it's objectively not.
Lmao, calm down chief. Nobody's saying the game is shit, and you're certainly not going to find record of me saying I would "hope" it was shit. It's just an observation, an opinion.

Not prostrating at the alter of any game is not sour grapes. Grow up from the warz.

Side note: one of Sony's biggest screw ups was making the Uncharted movie exclusively a vehicle for tiny Tom Holland, and not a proper Uncharted movie. They turned a potential billion dollar franchise into an also ran.

Eh, if I want Uncharted, I want a new game. TV and movies are compromised at best. Perhaps it works for franchises that have been running with silent protagonists like Fallout, but a solid Fallout game with the story of the TV show would blow the show out of the water. Proof: TLOU on HBO. The game was better in every way.

But I think I speak for a lot of fans when I say that, for the forseeable future, we don't need a new Uncharted.

Cheeks Spread for Digital Only Future
The advanced early access head start for a single player title, like Outlaws is complete and utter mind games abusive money pinching greedy gaming bullshit. I can understand when it happens in online games or MMO's, but not single player. Even movies that have early premieres, have normal ticket prices. We as gamers have let this happen because we keep paying for it, well some of us do. This is going to become the norm to get every penny they can. Is there really going to be a day 1( actually day 3 or 4) patch on normal release? that makes it even worse.

Why isn't anyone calling out this bullshit practise? where are the gaming journalists calling this out? oh that's right they didn't have to pay for the game.
It's a great system especially for gamepass games.

I'm still not completely on board with some of design choices, but I watched some gameplays and reviews and honestly I'll pick it up. Gameplay loop sounds fun

This is your best post here lmao now you’re acting like a real person 😂💪👍

I just started playing it. On PC so fuck console war. This is sooo good from an Indy fan perspective. If you truly can’t access the game then do a Cartman freeze or something until it’s out on PS5, don’t look at videos, save this gem, it is sublime 👌

(But it’s not without negatives… Just posted some of it in the OT)

It sound like this game is what ND would have made back in the years when they were in their prime

What period would you consider their prime?

I would say Uncharted 2 was their peak, but even then, this (Indy) is an immersive sim. ND's prime was linear cinematic shooters, I don't think they've ever tackled a game of this kind of scope before.

What scope exactly?

This isn’t an immersive sim, stop with the nonsense lol. All the reviews say you’re pretty limited in actual options and the actual combat is barebones

The scope of any ND game made since UC2 is bigger than this lol

Around the period where they were making Uncharted 2 and 3.

I would like to say I want to see ND tackle something like this, but I am not sure if they have the talents anymore.

I'll check out this game tomorrow

Multiple massive zones with numerous side quests etc, it's not a linear corridor shooter.

So many reviews and comments have likened it to Dishonored, Thief, the modern Hitman games, etc, which are immersive sims or have immersive sim elements. Most scenarios also have multiple ways to tackle them, combat, sneaking, finding disguises etc.

This is way more immersive sim than we may have thought of pre-release.

Nah, TLoU 2 has one notable open zone with mini objectives and optional explorable places, this has multiple.

Mack gave it a 6.5 and hes usually spot on I've found.
He isn't though. I stopped watching Mac's stuff around a year ago as he's a tiresome broken record with about three adjectives in his whole vocabulary. His reviews are just exercises in forthright petulance now, it's really boring.

Open != scope

And is mattyp lying? His review says it’s not an immersive sim, there’s really only one way to tackle objectives with minor flexibility in combat arrangements

I suppose…but you have to admit that final action sequence with the airships was pretty cool though.

I want that in a future Uncharted game.

The bad stealth and AI is putting me off. How is it getting 8's and 9's if its that bad.
That harsh wow.

I’m still early on but from what I’ve seen so far stealth is like any other game with stealth I’ve played the last couple decades. Enemies walk about and you can sneak behind stuff and they stop at points where you can do an attack, then you see an indicator about how much they notice you and mumbles about what they saw and they come close to look and go back when the notice bar is back to zero etc etc etc. Standard stealth gameplay seen a million times before. Not particularly good or particularly bad.

Exploration is a bigger issue imo. Exploring the areas is interesting and there is lots of stuff to look around for but the problem there is a highlight of items you can pick up. You see the highlight from far away. I don’t like that, makes it feel like I’m playing a puzzle game for 3 year olds. They had a choice at the start where you can choose how much help you get so I wish they didn’t dumb down the mode supposed to challenge you more.

You’re also climbing slow as a snail as if they mocapped real Harrison Ford.

But for me so far, it’s still been better than expected from an Indy fan perspective. It’s a love letter to the old movies, they’re so on point at times, absolutely nailed the feeling and voice acting and design and general themes. You’re Indy, and you can bonk someone in the head with a broom, or throw a statue at them, or smack their ass with your whip, or just shoot them in the head if you’re lazy, because that’s what Indy do. And that’s awesome! 😁💪

To sum it up I think if you don’t understand by now who Indiana Jones is made for and who’ll like it then it’s probably not for you and you can safely ignore it.
It’s clearly made BY and FOR Indiana Jones movie fans. And from that perspective it is amazing!👌

Now - Breakfast done! Jumping in again for another session! 🤗

The whole stupid thing made me angry. They use the single best fanfare in all of gaming for a few seconds… like they’re actively ashamed of the source material. That should be like the Indiana Jones theme. It should have starred an actual man. It could have been Indy for a new generation, and they fucked it just to push tiny Tom and his limited acting ability.
