Konami has had some incredible crossovers with Castlevania lately, think a new game could be on the horizon?

I only started Dead Cells last year when the Castlevania DLC came out (physical Switch version, would highly recommend for any other collectors). I recently saw they have a new Castlevania DLC for the game V Rising, which is a game I know virtually nothing about, other than hearing generally good things.

I’m honestly glad to see Konami finally doing something with the IP, even if it’s just licensing it out to fans of the series.

But it does make me wonder if there could be anything more on the horizon?

I’d honestly love to see a return to the series, even just for more incredible music. My dream game would either be a complete remake of Castlevania 1 (in Metreoidvania style), but namely with the incredible sprite work of the Nintendo DS games.

Although, I’m not opposed to a 3D adventure as well. I’d still be partial to a retelling of Simon Belmont’s story, but a new hero is also fine. For the love of god though, just don’t look to the Netflix series for inspiration.

But curious if there are still others super interested in more Castlevania? Or has it just become too niche?

Don't expect much, KDE's internal development division is pretty much just small teams making small games, sports stuff and remakes. Of course, it could all be outsourced, but eh, they will probably have enough with some remasters.
