Well, I guess I've gotta watch this :D I've seen like <10 episodes of this show ever, so it's not tired out for me or anything.

It's a good reflection of the fans who still enjoy this show. Anyone who likes Lisa episodes have terrible taste.

I guess the Bleeding Gums Murphy episodes can count as Bleeding Gums Murphy episodes :P

We need to put The Simpsons out of their misery once and for all.

I already hate this episode and I haven't even watched it yet.

Also, Lisa episodes always suck. She's best when she's only got a couple lines

... i guess my sarcasm wasn't obvious enough. :(

with the state the series is in, you could tell me the writers do drugs with charlie sheen and i would believe you

Someone please just hunt down The Simpsons writing staff and kill them. All of them.

And their children, just to be safe.
You just don't get it. These guys are self-proclaimed comic geniuses.

God, just end the show already. Either that or just start making the episodes completely Aqua Teen style insane. They missed the chance to go out with dignity like 14 years ago, they might as well just go nuts with it now and be really experimental.

Sorry. I've actually met people who like Lisa and her episodes (plus I'm a serious business person), so it escaped me. I did like the episode with Paul McCartney at the end though.

I wanted them to do this for some time. Perhaps get a really really dark subplot going.

Stop it! The show's already dead.

They noticed on a commentary how Homer being kissed by Harvey Fierstein wasn't a big deal but it was one of the 1st gay kisses on TV.

jesus christ 23rd season

I've stopped watching around season 10...

has it gotten any better the latter half for those that stuck around ?

You made the right decision. I bought and watched seasons 1-8 and loved them. Season 9 was still pretty good, but it had a few stinkers mixed in. Season 10 was still decent in my opinion, but there was just a sense that it had begun to go downhill.

I didn't have any nostalgic value for anything past season 10 anyway, so that's the point where I stopped buying the DVDs, and I don't regret it at all.

How many views does Simpsons pull now? Who still watches it anymore?

Is Lisa still a Buddhist or has she changed beliefs again?

Just let it die, there are more horrible seasons then there are good ones :(

And please don't do the same to Futurama...

Season 22 averaged over 7 million viewers an episode.

I don't know how. I don't know why.

I don't think I want to know.

the part that's most painful is if you think about the MJ episode from season 3. MJ wasn't actually credited, MJ played a real character, not himself. it was a pretty brillant guest-spot.

Just when I was saying The Simpsons has gotten pretty funny lately they go and do this to me...

*sighs* Simpsons has become something...else.

The script writing process for new Simpsons goes like this:

"Fuck it, Homer upsets Marge then they make up at the end of the episode, who wants lunch?"

I still watch every Simpsons episode, and always will. They sometimes have a laugh or too but not very memorable at all, I can quote the golden age word for word but often I can't even remember what the previous weeks new episode was even about.

lol. ;(

The current new Futurama series that is on TV here (I dunno what one, I'm from NZ, I assume its the 'newest' one) is so frickin' funny, I assumed that would tank in quality too but I'm liking them a lot.

Had to retire it when Avatar-Gif-Age ended.

Those were the days, brah. ;_;

The last Simpson episode should be Homer fighting Obama for president of the USA and Marge having sex with Madonna, while Bart went blowing things up with the Black Eyes Peas. Lisa is abandoned in the basement of the nuclear plant with Justin Bieber, meanwhile Maggie is shooting talibans in Afghanistan with her tank.

Yeah, guest appearances now basically consist of "Oh look, it's pop sensation Lady Gaga*." (Guest does something quirky and the episode continues without them and doesn't expand on it at all.)
