The last Simpson episode should be Homer fighting Obama for president of the USA and Marge having sex with Madonna, while Bart went blowing things up with the Black Eyes Peas. Lisa is abandoned in the basement of the nuclear plant with Justin Bieber, meanwhile Maggie is shooting talibans in Afghanistan with her tank.

Worst Cosmic Wars ever! I will only see it, three more times..... today.

Who cares? I sure don't. Her music is unbearable now. Shame that her recent CD is considered music at all. Hopefully she stops making music soon.

I don't care if this offended a Gaga fan. I can't stand her current CD and hope it stops getting radio play.

Yeah, guest appearances now basically consist of "Oh look, it's pop sensation Lady Gaga*." (Guest does something quirky and the episode continues without them and doesn't expand on it at all.)

It's funny because I just finished watching a season 7 ep where Linda and Paul McCartney literally come out nowhere in Apu's roof garden.

I've watched nearly every ep, and can vouch for how utterly shitty its become. But I can also vouch that past "That 90's show" ep, the quality isn't as unwatchable as it used to be. I think the current Simpsons beats Family Guy, Bob's Burgers, Cleavland Show (occasionally American Dad) and probably soon to come Allen Gregory, and the animated Napoleon Dynomite show. It's not saying much, but I'd still watch the current Simpsons over any of those. Yeah, it's not the show it used to be, but I get a laugh or two every now and then.

Man... Fox's animation standards have really plummeted.

It's a good reflection of the fans who still enjoy this show. Anyone who likes Lisa episodes have terrible taste.
Holy fuck, am I in a universe where Lisa's Substitute and The Secret War of Lisa Simpson don't exist? Holy shit.

Been craving Simpsons lately, get that shit on Netflix Instant. I can't find the syndicated reruns in my market.
I was about to say the same thing. I still want to see the Cape Fear episode.

Hasn't she been into fads before? Like when she called that Teen Line all the time? Or am I thinking of some other show?
I wouldn't consider having a crush being into a fad.

I'm surprised that some Simpsons fans don't like Lisa. Like, really, really surprised. I love the show after seeing the first 8 seasons, and Lisa is one of the main reasons why. She's a really well-written idealistic, conscious youth, and the episodes where she's disillusioned by something or fights for something she believes in are some of my favorites. Episodes like the Malibu Stacy one satire products aimed at young girls in a way I don't think I've ever seen anywhere else,

Lisa sets up situations for her parents to show their apathetic but supportive nature that people can relate to, especially people with kids. The episode where Lisa finds out where meat comes from and becomes a very outspoken vegetarian is something many parents can relate to where Homer and Marge have to struggle with how they live vs. how they're teaching their children what's wrong and right.

GAF gets some flak (from GAFfers, of course) for being misogynistic concerning strong female roles on television, and usually I disagree since the two examples most often used (Betty in Mad Men and Skyler in Breaking Bad) can be pretty annoying, Betty pretty much being a character that you're supposed to find bratty and Skyler being a buzz kill for the exciting stuff that's going on. I really don't see how anyone can like the Simpsons and find Lisa annoying though. The show is some of the best satire I've ever seen, and Lisa's viewpoint is often essential to the point the show is trying to make. I imagine much of the commentary in the show goes over these Lisa-haters heads, and they're attraction to the show comes mainly from watching Homer get hurt or Bart talking back.

I say we give The Simpsons to a whole new team and reboot the series. Let the series have nothing to do with anyone currently associated with the show.

I miss the days when guest starts were actual characters and not just themselves. It's really a shame you can't have a Simpsons thread without talking about the old days because it just shows how bad it is compared to then.

Yeah, the hate Lisa gets is unwarranted. I like her better than say, Bart, for example.

During the best Simpsons seasons she was a well written, realistic and funny character. She was idealistic and smart, but still a child and flawed so sometimes her childishness shone through, making for very funny, sincere and touching scenes. You've gotta wonder if the hate simply comes from people not liking the causes Lisa stands for, and taking that personally or something.

I don't like Lisa pre-season 3 though. Before that she's just annoying, melodramatic and unreasonable. Consequently, I'm not a big fan of Lisa's Substitute.

There are always exceptions.
Far too many exceptions for there to warrant hating lisa eps. Lisa dating Nelson, Lisa and the 8th Commandment, Lisa on ice, Lisa Dating Ralph, the list goes on and on. This is all golden-age stuff only of course.

edit: and how could I not even mention the Bleeding Gums eps! I saw the one with his death recently, and just wow. The ending had me grinning from ear to ear. I can't for the life of me figure out the reasoning how liking Lisa eps equals terrible taste.

Hey remember when guest stars on the simpsons actually played characters and not themselves?

Because I sure as hell don't.

Oh well, at least we have simpsons porn being posted now.

Simpsons are dead. No one can revive them.

This shtick is very tired indeed. Thank you for pointing that out and letting me know how you feel. Your kind forum words of brutal truth will make sure that these posts improve in the future and make me a better human being. Again, thank you.

EVEN MICHAEL JACKSON DIDNT PLAY MICHAEL JACKSON! lol, show used to be soooooooooooo good. Havent watched it in ages... since like season 12 I think...

Well the James Woods cameo was good though >_>

yeah I'm done with this show. Actually I think I was done after that episode where lisa helped create a medicine with the side effect of making peoples eyes pop out of their sockets.

Jwoww on Jersey Shore makes facial expressions that make her look just like Marge. If I ever made a Simpsons movie I would totally cast her. Also:

i was never really fond of her, but the court order she got against bart made me despise her character. shes also the only character that can truly get her way in the show by crying. the moment she starts to cry in an episode, you can almost guarantee that the conclusion will end with her getting her way.

theres something that ive spoken to a friend about that ive always been curious about: the simpsons gene, and how little it makes sense

I remember when I was really young, and the Simpson's was in its prime, my whole family would watch it together.

Unfortunately, I remember watching some episode later on where the Simpson's ended up in Florida, and it was kind of crappy and Kid Rock was in the episode too, I think.

I remember thinking at the end, hmm that wasn't very good, but I'm sure that was just a fluke.

I was so naive.

I do love the dialogue between Homer and the prison guard.

Guard: No listening. You hear me?
Homer: Uh... no?
Guard: You just don't learn, do you? *whips him*

Haha yeah that was pretty good. I don't think the episode was the worst ever, but its the first time I had ever seen a Simpsons episode that wasn't top notch quality.

I'd say, one of the worst episode of the Simpsons I've ever seen was this one, where Bart kisses some girl and then he thinks he got her pregnant and he decides to run away.

Edit: Yeah that horse racing episode is just another example of bad Simpsons. The trouble is there are so many bad episodes now, its impossible to recall each one I've seen.

I remember I had this exact same line of thinking with the episode with the racing horse and the jockeys who were really an underground races of elves or some crap.

last time i saw an episodes of the simpsons would be maybe....i'd say 5-6 years ago after I come home from school.

Two I personally hate with a passion is the one where they get placed in a mansion reality show that eventually ends up going off a waterfall, and the other where Homer goes to rock camp. Maybe its because they were reaired so many times, but I consider that area of episodes the lowest worst point in the show. Even today it isn't that bad.

That's another thing that sucked, is that they would always re-air the shitty episodes in syndication all the time.

I actually used to look forward to watching The Simpsons on syndication, but considering that most episodes placed in syndication are the new episodes, I have no interest anymore.

It makes the moment they finally DO air a good one a momentous occasion. It almost feels like I'm watching the premiere of a golden age ep. If only.

Time for Simpson‘s Generations. the modern homer will meet classic homer. then they‘ll o on remastered classic adventures.
Angry Homer meet Childish Homer meet Selfish Jerk-Ass Homer.

The premise sounds much more suited to the characters and insanity of Family Guy rather than The Simpsons. Some recent episodes of The Simpsons have been reasonably good too. Oh well.
