Zayde Sands of Oklahoma is a leftie. The 4-year-old throws, writes and colors with his left-hand. If he were a pitcher, he’d be a southpaw, no doubt.

“He’s always, always used his left-hand,” Alisha Sands, Zayde’s mom, told KFOR-TV.

Well, that is, he was a leftie until his pre-K teacher at Oakes Elementary School in Okemah forced him to start using his right-hand in class.

Alisha noticed her son was trying to write with his right at home, and she was dismayed when her son told her about his teacher’s disapproval of lefties.

The mother approached the teacher, and he responded by giving her an article saying the devil was left-handed and labeling lefties as “unlucky,” “evil” and “sinister.”

Alisha complained to the superintendent and was frustrated by the lack of response as the teacher wasn’t suspended. She now plans to file an official complaint with the Oklahoma Board of Education.

This teacher needs to be fired.

It's true, the teacher saw the devil using his left hand when he signed the contract for his soul.

I swear things are going backwards. When I was a kid (I'm 44) being a lefty was fine and accepted as no big deal. I only got the shaft in college where most of the desks were those right hand only fuckjobs.

it's funny because most of the stupid people stories come from the US and not developing nations....

Because that shit is the norm sometimes in that nation or the information literally doesn't get out because of a lack of technology. It's common in parts of Asia for kids that start out left handed to be forced to use their right hand.

More like 1760.
They tried to pull this shit with my brother actually ... so more like 1970s/80s.

Luckily (for me) with all the crap he went through, it wasn't too bad when I attended school a few years later.

Granted the reasons weren't biblical. More lack of teacher training and supplies. You don't know the pain of trying to use those tiny scissors with the wrong hand :(

Same thing was done to my dad, which is why expected this news go be from some developing nation.

Was done to my mom and all her other siblings . End of 1950s so not that long ago. Babysat a little girl and she told me her left hand is evil. So no, it is still going on.
