List of PS5 Pro enhanced games

damn so much doom and gloom. here’s the deal past games will get the least upgrade if any because that dev is most likely working on a new project. there is entire round testing that has to happen and devs don’t stop working on current project to go back to an old project. how ever we will see updates. for current and future projects they will all have pro versions. pro version coincide with development and its easy to o implement during development. this is how get the most from ps5 pro upgrades. this exactly what happened on ps4 pro and i was working on aproject when the ps4 pro came out i saw both sides of it. so friggin relax lol it will be here.

Hogwarts Legacy is great. Excellent use of PSSR. The Performance mode is a locked 60fps so far whilst looking very 4k like and crisp - substantial image upgrade to base PS5.
Be aware (and I've checked this myself) that Performance and HFR performance mode both have lower settings like vegetation draw distance.
Quality and Balanced seem to be both similar settings when comes to draw distance.

Tchu-Espresso

likes mayo on everthing and can't dance
So Elden Ring on Quality Mode with Raytracing is running with 10-15 more frames on the Pro.

Honestly it would be great to see From Software making a patch for this game because with a few tweaks, they could probably run the game close to a 60fps lock.

From Software are obsessed with high resolutions. Drop it to 1440p, add PSSR and I’m sure the outcome will be better.

Thanks. Yeah Balanced is that touch much more crisp too. But coming from base PS5 Performance image quality is much, much better. So much crisper. And maintaining 60fps. I may yet explore Balanced more, but it'll be with VRR and uncapped as I dont do 40fps modes.

yeah. Sadly balanced mode still needs to be capped to 40. Otherwise you will see yourself because it's constantly on the 48fps line and it's TERRIBLE framepacing

is waiting for Starfield 7
Anyone knows what's exactly enhanced for Fortnite?

Installed the game for my nephews and niece to play but I don't see any difference in the graphics option. And it doesn't look any better as well.

The 1% lows drop less frequently and not as hard as on base PS5, otherwise the 60fps option has better reflections i think i saw on a video, but i don't play at 60.

Anyone got DF direct? Apparently they talked about some bad PSSR implementations and that include Silent hill 2.

That is wild that the dev and sony patch a broken game like that. I did not see anything got enhanced. The sharpness and graphic unchanged.

This is actually more impressive, at least in theory, than I expected. I cannot wait for DF or someone else to do a real in-depth analysis of all this, especially the 120Hz mode.
I just bought the ga few days ago.. glad they actually came through… need some video though to compare

I think I found evidence of the issue on the pro. Watch the video On the ps5, From 1:00 to 1:40. On the pro, From 1:30 to 2:10.

Please tell me you notice the difference? This is modern warfare III i believe. The ps5 have image crawling issue, but the pro is significantly worst. Also there are shimmering/alias on the pillar at 1:36 on the pro and there is none on the ps5 at 1:04.

This had to be a system issue.

Can someone cut these footages and line them up? This would be great.

I posted this in the DF thread but i think it needs attention here also.

Been testing TLOU2 some more, encounters and chapters.

There’s a significant improvement in draw distance, especially noticeable on the island. The previously glaring foliage pop-in is completely gone, and the environment now appears rendered at full LOD at all times. Very impressive. The only area where I’ve seen some pop-in is the open space in Ellie’s Seattle Day 1 chapter. Also gone are the horrid culling bugs, with the worst offenders previously also on the island. These tweaks clearly go much deeper than just a resolution bump.

Furthermore, screenspace reflections seem much higher resolution now, making all puddles and reflective surfaces, while still technically "fake," look far more accurate. Combined with the enhanced material texture resolution, elements like blood interacting with different surfaces appear almost photo-realistic.

Aside from the Santa Barbara the game looks perfect everywhere else, so I'm guessing it's only that one area that is literally broken now but there is no way they aren't patching that anytime soon.

As I mentioned earlier, the game does start to show its age in geometry detail at this resolution. However, that sense of uncanniness fades quickly during gameplay, replaced by sheer awe at just how incredible this game still looks four years later. An unmatched masterclass in ambient lighting.

Yep. Part I has many of those same improvements (particularly on foliage and ground textures). It's not just some res bump, but an actual upgrade in detail. Hair and smoke also look improved!

Just gave Witcher 3 a quick revisit. Tested around Novigrad and the swamps which on base PS5 would drop a little at times. On Pro in the same areas, locked 60fps the entire time. However its also showing a definite boost to fidelity. I'd say this is the best DRS improvement I've yet seen. Excellent improvement.

Absolute bullshit. LOD draw distance and pop-in is worse than on base PS5. It made me switxh back to fidelity because it was so bad.. Stop lying.

That VRR mode for the Quality Mode will be perfect for benchmarking.

Do newer physical copies of Hogwarts Legacy already come pre-patched? I just bought a new copy of it, and I installed it off my disc, but when I check for update, there is no update at all which I find weird, even if there wasn't a PS5 Pro patch.

Exactly at least a couple media outlets are finally starting to pick up on the fact that support is shockingly bad at the moment
Yeah, I would imagine they would at least release an update for most if not all of their first party games. Ghost of Tsushima and Death Stranding have PS5 versions and they're getting sequels next year, why there isn't a PS5 Pro upgrade? hell, DS is running on Decima and Guerrilla just released a Pro upgrade for both Horizon games, shouldn't that make it easier?
Returnal is getting a comic adaptation this December, why not take the opportunity to upgrade that game?
Helldivers 2 is PlayStation's most popular game of this year, where is the Pro upgrade?

I mean, the studios might be working on that, but those upgrades should have been ready at launch.

Another media outlet picking up on one of the Pro's most disappointing "upgrades". This is what needs to happen to get publishers to address these issues which is why complaining about them online is a good thing:

There are way too many issues surrounding the Pro's launch. Lack of Sony supported titles, patches that don't do much, and extreme cases like Silent Hill 2 where the game looks MUCH worse than base PS5!

Just looked and latest update was 1.05 october 25. Don't see Pro support yet.

First game i was going to finish was FF7R.

But one of my favorite games frim last gen got a patch and was $10.

Horizon Zero Dawn looks fantastic and I'm hooked again.

I honestly am losing the rest of respect i had for Digital Foundry. They constantly fail at analyzing the most basic of basics and are more worried about enhancing images 10 times, like that's what i'm gonna see on screen.

So they didn't notice any of this when making those hype videos for FFVII Rebirth or TLOU2? We needed the console to be released and normal users to pick up on actual issues you see as soon the game is running?

I seriously think there isn't a single media outlet out there that we can rely on when talking about visuals.

Maybe we should remove some games that looks worse on pro and create separate deteriorate list ? We already have 3 titles: Silent Hill 2, Alan Wake 2, Jedi Survivor.

AW2 doesnt look worse on Pro come on now. Maybe a bit disappointing update, but still looks much better in performance mode than before. I didnt try quality, but probably the same applies there. Framerate sucks tho, but it wasnt perfect on base either

In performance mode fps drops more and pssr make less stable image than fsr2
