List of PS5 Pro enhanced games

Sounds like a good time to get Avatar.

Any PS4/5 exclusive game in physical format I should get?
The Last Guardian?

To play from disc version at 60fps.

PS5 & PS5 Pro Support and Optimization
  • PS5 Pro now supports PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR). By enabling it, you can achieve a high-definition visual experience by selecting either Quality Mode or Balanced Mode in Settings.
  • The system supports 120 Hz Output. When enabled in Balanced Mode, it maintains a stable 40 FPS output. If you encounter any visual anomalies, you can turn it off in PS5 Settings.
  • Various scenes and boss fights have been optimized for better game performance.
  • The stability of frame rates and visual clarity in both Balanced Mode and Quality Mode have been enhanced.
  • The input response speed has been improved in Performance Mode.
So no PSSR for Performance Mode (and who knows how it's implemented anyway), but at least more responsive.

LOL this is unpatched...
That's my point? WTF? I said the game NEEDED to be patched to be transformative. You guys were arguing even without a patch, it would be transformative. When I argued why, you said I had an agenda.
You're so close to going on ignore...
Oh, no. How sad. I don’t even know why you guys say that as if we gave a shit.
If you're uninterested in the console version, what are you even doing in here? Clearly trolling right?
The fuck you mean, uninterested in the console version? I'm interested in how it runs patched.

You accused me of a bunch of shit and attacked my character for correctly pointing out that the game would need a patch to be transformative and be a worthwhile upgrade. Turns out I was right and you were wrong.

Oh, good one. I’ll get Shadow of the Colossus too. If I remember, it’s close to a locked 60 on the PS4 Pro. I don’t think there’s DRS though, so the PS5 Pro will be the same, but it’s cool. Been meaning to play those forever.

Looking forward to try it tomorrow.
I played the game in balanced mode and the unpatched game feels smoother than on the base PS5.
PSSR + 40fps mode is nice, hopefully it's a good implementation although the base game already has ghosting and artifacts on particle effects so I'm not sure if PSSR is able to get rid of those.

It's has to be unpatched to play TLG at 60fps if I remember correctly.

err mibu banned WTF? Did an Era mod come onboard or something?
Not just a ban, a perm warning.

I can't believe Arrowhead would do this huge Helldivers 2 update and still not release (or at least announce) a PS5 PRO update. One of the my favorite games to play but jeez that Performance mode could use an IQ uplift (if it got the same treatment as Space Marine 2, that would be awesome).
I'm not sure what PSSR implementation would look like. They are using a dead engine that hasn't been updated in who knows how long. I would be OK if they just increased the native resolution. 40% more pixels would make the IQ more... tolerable.

Got the Witcher itch from last night and wow what the hell is it using on ps5pro because it looks flawless in performance mode absolutely pristine image

It's using FSR2, but the resolution is so high it's acting more like DLAA than regular FSR so you get a very impressive image quality.

Maybe the plan is another big moment like they just had when the controller launches.

Just bought Dead Island 2 along with the new native PS5 physical versions of RE2, RE3 and RE7. Was always kind of intrigued by DI2 as I love zombie games, and the reportedly very good Pro support finally pushed me over the edge. Hope it's a good game, and that allows for full HUD customization.

Not expecting additional Pro support for the RE games at all, but also don't think they need it as they finally offer a flawless 60fps experience in RT mode on this console.
Do you happen to know if RE7 supports PSVR2 now?

Black myth at 40hmmm. As long as it’s smooth it should be ok.

Was hoping for helldivers 2 for the game awards, but I guess the patch went down first on the list which makes sense. Hopeful we see something by end of year.

No PSSR at all for RE4. I was wrong. Checkerboard rendering for all modes.

No, you were completely right instead:

Update 14/12/24: There is a difference in resolution while using the 120Hz mode in Resident Evil 4 Remake on PS5 Pro - and we can confirm that this runs at 1536x864, with a PSSR upscale to 4K (or 40% scale of the 4K reconstructed target). So long as 120Hz selected it switches to this alternate rendering mode, though 60Hz continues to use base PS5's 4K checkerboard method in this game.

interesting video

Should have its own thread. Much more relevant to PC than PlayStation, but it highlights what we’ve known for a while: low resolution rt creates visual artifacts. The issues are further exacerbated because PSSR has to temporally reconstruct a lower resolution image with low resolution ray tracing. This leads to significant visual problems in some cases.

Well shit. I didn't even have to pixel count the screen or whatever. I just eyeballed it.

Digital Foundry are really slacking.
I think they can give great insight. But they've been wrong before too. They're not infallible despite what some would have us believe.

Can anyone tell me what the situation is with Black Ops 6? John from DF tweeted last week that Treyarch had solved the artifacting problem and that it would be "fixed in the next patch", however when I tried out the campaign after that patch (patch dropped a day after his tweet) absolutely nothing had been fixed. Those ugly, distracting white lights and aliasing is still all over this game...anyone know what happened?

No idea the problem was fixed in zombies though just not the campaign

They started development of hd2 after the engine was discontinued. I’m sure they can adjust as needed as they have been using it under these conditions. They have already announced a pro patch, not having PSSR on their flagship live service game (sorry Bungie) would be weird.

Last Helldivers patch broke it on the Pro. Audio doesn’t work
Change it from atmos. Had the same issue this morning. I was playing on a headset last night so I didn’t know it wasn’t working . Changed surround sound from atmos to pcm worked then.

I'd be high with just a res boost to be perfectly honest. PSSR would be great, though. It can look good from 1200p upscaled to 4K.

God damn it Treyarch fix the fucking campaign too you bums

I don't know how they get away with this the game looks like SHIT in campaign! The mode where graphics are most important.
Fixed in warzone and it was so over the place on that. Not tried standard multiplayer yet. Like that say though piss poor
