Looks like the reports of the Switch 2 being a down clocked 3050 laptop equivalent appears to be true

Predicts the worst decade for Sony starting 2022
I agree with digital foundry here that this leak is just too specific. It is also curious they detected no signs of DLSS in the Mario Kart video. Considering the miracles that Nintendo has done with that ancient X1 chip this should be easy for them to really get the most out of it. Third parties are another story. With we be seeing 1080p/ 30fps ports on bigger titles? Too many unknowns.

With the original Switch was anyone hoping for a 1080p screen? Because now they keep mentioning that "1080p is too much, 720p is just fine".

You guys are so unbased, it's like you just woke up yesterday. I feel like I'm always in The Truman Show and people are just fucking with me.

Do you remember the Switch 1?

It was the sorriest piece of shit sand patty that Nintendo could afford at the time. It was ancient when it came out. It was beyond bad.

Look what not only Nintendo but so many devs have done with it. I mean, look at The Portal Companion Collection FFS.

So now, they are putting out a semi-decent actual piece of somewhat dated tech, but still lightyears above what the Switch 1 was at the time, and here we are having a laugh. About what? Who do you believe is going to be disappointed? Nobody. Spread that FUD all day long fellas, but remember what Nintendo did to you last time. They will be selling AAA 90+MC Single Player Nintendo games on cool consoles long after the rest of the industry has went to shit and you know it as well as the rest of us, so who fucking cares, just buy one.

We do not want DLSS at all when the final resolution is 1080p. The beginning resolution would be too low for anything of value to be constructed from it.

This is the same leak we already had 10 pages on…

I would expect low clocks in handheld to hit the 5-7W mark. Also aligns with the approach in the Ninty-DLSS patent.

Interesting...to be fair I don't play any third party titles that are on ps or pc on switch anyway.
It's strictly exclusives I play on the nintendo.always has been and always will.

720p->1080p with dlss should be both doable and fine on a handheld screen.
Maybe, but we don't really know yet how DLSS will be used on the console. Even then, it would be better to output the 720p to a 720 screen, than to push this to 1080p through any kind of artificial technique for a 1080 screen. There is nothing to gain.

Is this good or bad? I don't know, I need easy examples.
