Reddit has some housecleaning to do. Start with the power mods that are in charge of all the subreddits. There is no excuse for so much power to be in so few hands. Also, any political bias in the mod teams needs to be addressed. Between death wishes and flagrant political bias, there are few places still on google as toxic as reddit, and it has gotten 1000x worse since the election.

There's not as many mods as you think. Many of them have access in 10-100 different subs as well as giving powers to alts in case something happens to their main. There's also a lot of nepotism where they'll give mod to their buddies who think exactly like them instead of members of the community who are active and earned it.

They also shape the communities into political echo chambers by banning people who disagree or even using automods to ban users who post in subreddits that aren't part of the overall echochamber.

Back when the GAF bubble popped and ERA was made, once the GAF bubble reformed there were a lot of disgruntled ex-ERA members who ended up either leaving there or being banned then coming back to GAF and bringing that disdain for ERA with them, even when myself and others kept asking for them to let them go and make GAF better and worry only about GAF instead of moving with spite.

It didn't work. People are spiteful, vengeful, and hold grudges. People also hatewatch and mostly interact with things they hate, nearly on a daily basis online. It simply is the way of things.

Just make sure you don't get too caught up in the 'our team is better than their team' rhetoric. It is just team sports at the end of the day.

That is harsh. The throwable system and heavy weapon feedback are easily better than anything FromSoft has ever implemented. A lot of the unique buffs from equipment are also in a league above.

I'm actually coming around to Dark Souls on ice skates, errr I mean Lords of the Fallen. Man, you touched on a point I've been thinking about for some time. There's a huge parallel between NeoGaf, Resetera, and US politics (right/left). I know politics is much bigger than these forums will ever be, but a lot of the behavior on Reddit and Resetera helps me understand some of the broader behaviors of Democrats and the like. Resetera is quick to ban people for misgendering someone or, anecdotally, "port begging" for suggesting it would be nice if X game got a PlayStation release. Meanwhile, some of NeoGaf's top threads are about the best boobs and butts in gaming. Having been raised on South Park and The Simpsons, my humor aligns more with this orange forum, of course, but I still need to lurk around to get all the news, as something always gets skipped on either forum for one reason or another. All this is very similar to the narrow tunnel vision of only keeping an eye on X, Fox News, Reddit, or CNN; you don't get the whole picture. And it’s scary.
