Exposing the sinister cartel of retailers who allow companies to pay for advertising space.
The difference between them and us is that we think people with different sociopolitical ideas just have different opinions than us while those on ResetEra/Reddit/etc see people who disagree with them as morally wrong or even outright evil. The only way for these people to cope with different viewpoints is to outlaw or ban them. It's also impossible to have a discussion with those people, you're dealing with people who have joined a cult and need to be deprogrammed to handle the real world.

Bro, lootboxes havent been a thing for a while now. Most games that had RNG based mtx have switched over to direct purchase yet people here call them predatory because they are expensive or fomo or whatever lol. The word predatory is supposed to be used for things like payday loans, price gouging for necessities etc not some damn lootbox or mtx which gets you a damn cosmetic in a video game.

Game companies hire psychologists so they can exploit the plebs. Most of the tech giants do it. It's by definition predatory.
Lootboxes still exist even if they're not as popular as they were. Most just know they can probably get just as much money without it being a legal gray area if they just use shit like battle passes and direct purchases.
Making fun of high iq people is something modern, I try to stay away from these discussions but can't deny it's significance in the society.

I was concerned about accuracy in the first place so I can't let your statement slide either. Censoring other people or groups of people (in this case banning them from posting) is a characteristic of Nazis but it's not unique to them at all. For example, the Soviet Union did this all the time, China has been, etc. I'm not a fan of these people but if we are all direct and accurate with our statements then the arguing can be a lot cleaner. It reduces the amount of holes that can be poked in the arguments that are apart from the main point any of us are trying to make.

I was a moderator for the r/RedSox sub and lost their minds when it came to X because of the ties to X and Elon Musk. Even so far as to call all of the moderators fascists and Nazis (one of which I'm neither of and I never use X anymore myself). There is a reason we didn't ban links outright and that was only to allow breaking news to be posted because there's where baseball news hits first.

So, you've failed to provide a relevant example of misuse of words on Gaf. You also failed to read the articles I linked or understand what the term "predatory microtransactions" entails. Attempting to deflect that fact by calling me names is pointless. You said Gaf misuses a word, I proved that the word is commonly used by many others outside of Gaf and linked proof. That's what this discussion is about.

I stopped going there because it all came to be too much. I also often got the sense that people were writing less what they truly believe (in some cases), and more what would get them the most upvotes. A lot of discussion came across as insincere to me and so I lost interest. Some sub reddits are still good, imo, but I decided it wasn't worth the frustration of all the other stuff to visit Reddit any more.

While a poorly chosen name, xcancel is something like nitter.
It's just a rebuild Twitter/X Frontend that doesn't use JavaScript and serves no ads.
It's somewhat useful if you don't want to be tracked and more for privacy involved people (or people trying to hide their tracks).
tl;dr it's actually a good tool that is sometimes being used for the wrong things.
