Zero interest in this. Any idea how many minutes this would be so I can take a break and pick a friendly argument with someone on GAF?

I dig the theme and aesthetic, would play a great campaign game of it, likely not gonna touch it tho as a gaas extraction :(

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
If it’s a live service game I am automatically completely uninterested in every imaginable way

Prepare to be completely uninterested then.

Based on people who have playtested it, it seems like an Escape from Tarkov like. Not a campaign style game.

There is hope for this GAAS game if they avoid putting ugly designed characters and avoid pronouns and gender ideology crap.

When I saw the afro-asian white woman at the end, that´s when I knew the game was going to be a success :messenger_grinning_squinting:
I thought the art direction in this trailer was super strong. Tied that in witha banging sound track and you have a great teaser. Each to their own i suppose.

Because their studio has been a fucking mess and because just like BioWare, they've been a shell of their former selves for years?

Having hope in this to me is exactly the same as expecting something like Veilguard to have been successful.

And what helps the nails reach the coffin even quicker is that it's more gaas garbage.

Nobody wants this. And when I mean nobody, I mean the masses, not the hardcores that live on game forums.
What nonsense.

Some of Bungies output over the last few years has been both peak Destiny and peak Bungie. You might not like it but millions have enjoyed their content, as cam been seen in the CCU figures, consistent sales and high review scores.

Sure there has been mis steps along the way but the good stuff is top tier.

A lot of people are interested in this game as can be seen in the viewing figures for the trailer.

5 things to look for should Marathon gameplay be revealed tomorrow...

1. Strong asymmetry in characters.
Chess is better than Checkers. Overwatch is better than Quake. Marathon must utilize asymmetry to leapfrog Escape from Tarkov.

2. Longer engagement distances.
One of Hunt Showdowns biggest issues imo, is that every engagement happens within 60m of the player. Longer distances give players more time for counterplay.

3. Slower pace of gameplay.
This genre is all about tension. The more it plays like Resident Evil the better. See Exobourne for how NOT to do it.

4. In depth character customization.
I want building Runners to be less Gran Turismo and more Assetto Corsa. Building at hour 128 should be just as fun as building at hour 3.

5. Non combat mechanics.
Anything we can use to win / survive that's not DPS related. Though, this kind of ties into point #1.

The song I will play as I look out the window if this doesn't show up tomorrow...

Bungie in shambles. Ya hate to see it. They shut down Factions, which was the only one of Sony's zany gaas attempts that had any chance of being playable by regular human beings. And now they can't even make a derivative extraction shooter with minimalist UI, technocolor and overt HDR glow. Wish they were just making Halo 4 bros.

Herman please if you're reading this: If the Bungie game flops and Sony invites you to Japan for a meeting, do not go. Don't even think about it. Just resign and go about your life.

Stop believing every rumor. It’s gotten to a point where a SOP gets announced, a bunch of speculation is taken as a “leak”, and y’all somehow get mad at the developer for not announcing anything.

I've been alone with you inside my mind
And in my dreams, I've kissed your lips a thousand times. I sometimes see you pass outside my door...

yep and then they decry the SoP as crap and blame Sony for their own unrealistic expectations not being met
