Spiderman 2 is the most woke game ive ever played. more woke than Dragon Age. More woke than gay Aloy. It is absolutely insane.
But it's a great game despite all the wokeness which is why its one of the rare games not to get review bombed on metacritic. Last i checked, it was at 90 for both user and critic. Crazy considering the anti-woke outrage going on recently, and especially considering how this game has the following woke stuff in it:

- Gay Prom quest
- Deaf Girl playable Quest
- Numerous scenes where everyone talks in sign language because of them shoehorning in a Deaf character
- Ugly Mary Jane makeover
- Mary Jane Pushing Peter, a superhero with spidey sense and incredible strength, out of the way with just a shove.
- Mary Jane literally killing monsters with a handgun in a 1v1 boss fight.
- Mary jane rescuing the world by teaming up with Miles and Spiderman despite having NO powers herself
- Extremely Cringe I am sorry for being a man Spiderman monologue, during a boss fight no less
However, despite all of this nonsense, the game is fun to play. The setpieces are awesome. The boss fights are great. The story has its moments. Combat is way better with the new venom ability. Graphics are cross gen-ish but still way above average even if not industry leaning.
Even the story has a few moments where a woman apologizes for being a bitch which is refreshing considering how woke this game is otherwise. I was like no fucking way. Some accountability? And that too from a modern video game writer?!!!

I'm surprised to see such extremely high requirements for RT. Does the PS5 Pro version use RT? If so, the RX6800 should be able to run this game with RT at 1440p 60fps.
If the RTX4080 will only be able to run 1440p 60fps then I don't think the RTX4090 will be enough to run this game at 4K. Going from 1440p to 4K requires a 2x faster GPU. The RTX5090 would make sense, but not the RTX4090.

To everyone interested don't listen to him. If you like Spider-man, stick with the first one. And this has nothing to do with PC port, avoid Spider-man 2 on consoles as well.
Even given for free I don't think I would take the time to install. Gave up on first one midway and had no interest to sludge through Ubisoft open world slop with braindead side activities. Emergent gameplay with stopping a car 20 times with the same animations only get you so far.
Imagine your GF or wife talking to you the way MJ talks to Peter in this game. What's even the point of being a superhero? Good lord. You saved her life and millions of other New Yorks and this is the attitude? The chutzpah. I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone who has a really high opinion of Peter Parker and wants to keep it that way.
More have a problem with them doubling down on the MJ missions. They're still trash design waste of time from top to bottom like the 1st game. Instead of crouch walking to throw distractions for basic bitch stealth, they give you a takedown animation for more basic bitch stealth, a ranged takedown using a web shooter upgrade, and a boring sonic-gun shooting section complete with bad boss fight.
Stealth also took a downgrade where it's not particularly challenging anymore now that you can make your own spider zip lines for easy takedown setups.
Otherwise the rest of the game is solid, Venom is cool, but I can see some preferring the 1st game.

I just watched gameplay (on Benchmark Boy YT channel) and this game on max settings destroyed the RTX4080S. Even with DLSSQ the performance dropped to around 30fps when Spiderman was at ground level. I have no idea what PS5Pro settings use, but playstation port shouldnt run that bad .

At least mods will fix MJ along with other mods that enhance other gameplay aspects. Still won't get the game since I don't support the stuff in it nor was I ever a big fan of any spiderman game but watching the cutscenes on youtube would be better eventually.
Nvidia released new drivers today, but IDK if they are optimised for this game.
It seems that official requirements were correct. The 4080S just can't run this game well at max settings in 4K, and even with DLSS. Maybe lower settings will improve the framerate though. Benchmark Boy used ultimate RT settings.

So, like others, I am having issues. I get to the Sandman fight and to the part where I'm inside the building, and the game tells me how to run, my game quit to desktop with audio still playing for a short time before the error report popped up. I had Rivatuna open to check usages and my GPU (4090) was around 98% and was using approx 16.3gb of memory, my CPU (7800X3D) was around 38% usage, my RAM usage was between 22-24gb, all temperatures absolutely fine at around 68C for the GPU and around 40C for the CPU.
I am using DLSS and Frame Gen and have noticed some bad artifacting on things like hair. Not only that, but I am playing on a 32:9 monitor (so not sure if it is just Ultrawide jank), but I noticed some double characters, limbs, and bushes appearing when fast movement was on-screen, but it was in the centre and not at the edges or anything. It isn't ghosting, but actual double models.
Can't say I am very impressed. I thought PlayStation was on a small win streak with their porting, but this has reset that for sure.
The error message mentioned out of date drivers for my GPU, but I literally just did a clean install and reboot of the drivers released today, so I do not know. (I also just did a windows 11 update with a required reboot, not sure if that will help)
You jumped in the front of the game to its defense better than MJ jumps in front of Spider-Man to defend him. And MJ is a strong independent (and homely in this game) woman!
