Yeah I am definitely feeling old. Also feeling humbled though I thought I've been keeping up with fighters throughout the yrs but looks like I've missed out on quite a few

Advertising it on the Guardians 2 BR/DVD release was something I wasn't expecting. Marvel might do something with the DLC trailers/commercials around the time Inhumans starts?

No joke, the day I realised how big Minecraft was with kids was one of the few days I truly felt "man I'm old"

I just saw a kid watch TMNT unboxing videos on his parent's phone, and he was entertained. Welcome to the new age.

More kids will watch an unboxing of MVCI than play it.

My cousin watches unboxing of toys but doesn't have any interest in actually buying them he just likes watching them. I gave my other cousin about 30 of my 360 games when I got a ps4 she never played a single one of them but I caught her watching a few of the games I gave her on twitch go figure.

Maybe we'll see some Monday night football ads for marvel this or next week? They've done stuff with espn in the past.

Thor combos are so pretty. But fly/unfly shit scares me :(

Also, that begginer's league is a nice idea until you remember ppl just use hella smurf accounts to pick on newbies:(

I don't think fighting newer players is very fun, so Smurf accounts will probably want to get out of beginner league asap...

fighting new/bad players is a lot less fun of an idea in fighting games compared to, say, mobas.

the beginners league is a great idea.

I'm really tempted to get this, but do we know anything about the online netcode? Only thing stopping me from buying this game at launch is a shitty online experience.

I really hope this game doesn't have school costume DLC. I wanna see classic costumes, not fanservice trash.

It's always been fanservice trash.

I don't like skimpy costumes but I really really hate school costumes. It's a pet peeve of mine I just don't get the appeal of em oh and butler costumes they added those to FFXIV and people started falling over themselves to get the costumes wtf.

Need to make a call on if I am getting this game for PS4 or PC. Given how shoddy the PC version of SFV has been for me I am STRONGLY tempted to grab this for PS4 (in addition I expect the PS4 version to have a healthier online community).

Anyone want to help me out on this call? If I get the PS4 version I'm probably going to be able to get it a day early, but the PC version is cheaper.

Different kind of "fanservice".
Capcom is probably gonna avoid these:

I don't think we have to worry about Capcom releasing pervy outfits for MVCI. They got rid of Felicia cuz they want the game to look appropriate for televised tournaments. The DLC outfits for 3 were all callbacks to lore and other characters in Capcom and Marvel history. There's no way they would release something as generic as school outfits.

Playing UMvC3 again and noticed that Spencer says that Captain America was a childhood hero of his in a victory quote.

Meanwhile, Spider-Man in Infinite says that he always wanted to shout Shoryuken when teamed up with Ryu.

So does Street Fighter exist as a game in the Marvel universe and do Marvel Comics exist in the various Capcom universes? Are the previous crossovers canon? Is this like the fifth time the these universes have merged?!

To your first question, most likely.

But since this is Marvel we're talking about here it'd be easier to assume that each MvC game takes place in it's own "Earth" universe where franchise cross-pollination has happened - think of it kinda like Gwenpool, who is a character from an Earth Universe that is very closely analogous to our real life "Earth", where she's an avid Marvel Comics fan, but then she gets sucked into the "main" Marvel Universe. In similar fashion the "Capcom" universe in MvC is likely a separate world that has experienced Marvel comics, with vice versa applying for the "Marvel" part of it.

MvCI's story might hint if there's some continuity to these games (looking for an MvC3 reference would be your best bet in this case) but that isn't likely and it might be easier to assume every game is it's own separate instance.

Only potential hard trophy on the list is getting to 10th rank, don't know how hard that's going to be. If it's as hard as Gold in SFV then it's not that hard but for some people it might be pretty hard.

Hiryu's air hyper is called Brionac? What does that mean? All I'm getting is YuGiOh stuff

"Hiryu's new Hyper Combo in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, Brionac, is inspired by the Savage Slash, and has Hiryu perform several omni-directional Cypher slashes surrounding him in mid-air.
Gallery"

That's not too hard of a platinum. I hope there's rage quit penalties otherwise it'll get annoying as hell everyone going for the winstreaks the first few days.

Yeah. I was just wondering what it was based on.

Apparently a Celtic Mythological Spear...
