Yes, absolutely. The content is much more appealing to that market. PS4 sales are as abysmal as I predicted they would be.
lol I didn't think you were serious either but holy cow you actually were
amazing

They should have just called it Soul Sacrifice 2, haven't they learned from all these goofy subtitles yet?
Once a successor releases, will it matter? Wii U would've remained ahead of PS4 the entire time it was out.Which content?
There's pretty much no chance that the PS4 won't catch up to the Wii U -- that's pretty much a certainty. Even in the worst case, the PS4 will stay on the market for years to come, while the Wii U's successor is likely to hit the market in 2 years at the latest. That alone will be enough to outsell the Wii U eventually.
I don't think it's actually Soul Sacrifice 2 though, but an expanded re-release.
I could be wrong.
What I find "amazing" is that people doubted the fact that PS4 would crater in Japan, and are now convinced that, even as it crashes and burns, it is destined to outsell Wii U, despite lacking powerful releases that appeal to that market.lol I didn't think you were serious either but holy cow you actually were

Also, that content is Smash Bros, Bayonetta, MK8, Hyrule Warriors, etc.

Not really, unless you believe that Wii U is exiting the market within the next year or two, which I don't.You make it sound like the wiiu (if it actually does) make a quick exit from the market willingly or something...it's because it's selling like crap WW and no major Nintendo software has been able to change that situation at all
This is like saying if wiiu launched and exit the market before the ps4 launch it won! or something delusional along those lines
Really, Sony's main job this year is to make sure that PS4's weak sales this year will not cause a bad momentum that's irreversible even when hot software are released eventually, make sure Japan Studio has at least two compelling titles lined up for next year, go and beg Nagoshi to make Yakuza 6 into a current-gen only exclusive, and pray that Nomura finishes FFXV to be released in 2015.
Only thing that will bump 3DS sales is if it adopts interesting software that, fundamentally, falls outside of its intended design. Basically, that it gets games that no one was really expecting it to get - not traditional platformers; not jRPGs; but titles that would attract consumers that would not have picked up the handheld otherwise because they never thought those titles would come to the 3DS to begin with.
I'm assuming lollypop sold well in the the west just because of it's trashiness & it had WB's backing.

Define "impact". I think they will help, for sure, but I'm not arguing some miracle here. I'm saying the system still performs terribly, but possibly not as terribly as PS4.Do you really think Zelda Musuo and Bayo will make an impact?
I'm not stupid, I know what LTD means. And I didn't say I believe it will happen, but that I believe it is possible, based solely on announced content. No, I have to ask this again in case I'm missing something, do you actually believe WiiU will have a higher LTD than PS4 in Japan. LTD means total sales.
Not really, unless you believe that Wii U is exiting the market within the next year or two, which I don't.
3DS peaked in 2012, they couldn't match it last year with arguably better SW like MH4 and Pokemon. Nintendo must be in deep internal panick mode seeing their only cash cow going slowly out 3 years after launch.

At the rate it's dropping, PS4 could be in 7k land too soon, and then Japanese pubs will recommit to handhelds and mobiles, which I think is very likely.lol what is this magical land you live in? You do realize the wiiu is doing 7k numbers this week right? If it exits it's because it's selling like crap
PS4 ain't going nowhere..and the pubs/devs, especially the bigger ones, will continue to support it. The western success has already set the stage for that

You know that PS3 sold horribly at the beginning in japan right? (WiiU is actually still slighly ahead of it launch aligned..) And yet it has crawled its way to 10m+ across the years. I really don't see why PS4 couldn't do the same. It's exactly same situation.

So I've come to the conclusion that the Vita could sell like a poor man's PSP if sales ever pick up in the other regions similarly to what has happened in Japan.. 30-50 Million LTD seems plausible if that happens..
Cracking Vita number. I can't imagine it will stay up over last year throughout the month, but it's nice to see it still ahead. Nice to see a Vita title on top of the charts too.
This year is going to be the strongest for the Vita yet. I'm interested to see if it can gather a little more momentum for 2015 and become the Japanese handheld of choice.

That's really disappointing, I so wanted a successful home console so it could get tons of Japanese support.First three weeks performances of the most recent system launches accordingto Famitsu

It's stupid to assume that the sales trajectory this system is showing will suddenly inspire third parties to put Japan-centric content on the system. No, its not even a possibility unless WiiU picks up considerably. Also your basing LTD's of these consoles solely on the games that have been announced so far lol. Thats just stupid.

The PS4 is the only home console where Japanese centric games can thrive on
...Why is Namco currently supporting Wii U more than PS4?

It ain't happening this time I guess, maybe next-gen...
.....no
There will be no Vita surge in America lol
The sales trajectory that is breaking records around the world? Or are we pretending that Japanese publishers don't make a considerable amount of their sales outside of Japan?
Thanks man! I've been off on paternity leave so the days and nights have blurred into each other. I nearly forgot it was MC day!Welcome back!
I'm happy to see Vita's not dead yet. That PS4 number though. Eeeek.
I dunno, man. If the 3DS continues to decline and if the next Nintendo system stumbles, there could well be an opening. They're two pretty big ifs though.I don't think it can become a handheld of choice, inless tomorrow Capcom will announce that MH4g is alao coming to Vita, but it still get a nice respectable second place (opposed to selling basly from start to finish).
If I had to place a bet on which system will be top seller this week next year, I'd pick the Vita. I guess one benefit of the huge tech gap between the two handhelds is that buyers can pick up a Vita and feel they've jumped a generation, even though they haven't.I would sooo not be surprised if in one year from now, 3ds's momentum is weak, PS3 is kinda dead, Vita took its place for every anime games and monster hunter like, and is really popular. PS4 is a niche product for rich adults.
I fail to see how this is possible. All three seem unlikely to get the support from third parties needed to male it successful in Japan, though Nintendo has first party content they can rely on.The PS4 is the only home console where Japanese centric games can thrive on
I think you're forgetting the PS3.
Because Kamen Rider and One Piece have kids as their target audience and Nintendo is better associated with younger audiences? Seems obvious to me. They might kill the support later if (when?) the ports don't do well.
lol didn't you notice..he added yet ANOTHER condition to his 'argument' in that comment
Japan-centric software
He is wrong even then..because
a. you can't judge a LT sales trajectory from a few weeks of sales
b. PS4 will still be the main choice for Japan centric software for publishers in Japan. Especially if they have even the slightest of intention of expanding their sales to western markets
