How's the language barrier for the game btw? Is it playable/fun without knowing Japanese? Heard about it but haven't actually played the series yet.
Takao said:It really depends if D3 and Scamco see value in a PSP release in 2011. There is an official English translation for that EDF game (as it was released in Europe), so it's not like it would be impossible to bring it over. Though it should be noted that D3 picked up White Knight Chronicles 2, but not Origins on PSP.
DiscoJer said:And it should be noted that D3 published Puzzle Quest 2 on every platform except PSP (which the first game originally came out on).
The Geimin page even has a note disclaiming it is as Famitsu published. 5245 makes too much sense for it not to have been a printing mistake. But that's a small mystery compared to the one where added weekly sales amount to half of what Famitsu supposedly informed for the PS1 in 2000.JoshuaJSlone said:I double checked with that first crazy spike. I wondered if I'd added in an extra digit. I haven't, but I wonder if the source I got it from did. The number for the week is 52445. Maybe that 4 wasn't supposed to be doubled?
Another thing, you know you don't always have to rehost images from Garaph? Forums don't like all the ?, &, and other stuff in URLs, but this converter lets you turn them into a forum-friendly form. This is what it produces for the image you used above: http://garaph.info/linecompare.php//sum/0/html/0/sys-0/PS1/date-0/2000-01-03/tra-0/fam/ Put it in img tags and

Regarding Earth Defense Force 2 Portable:
- Double pack - 40,000
- Regular version - 23,000
The "double pack" (which has two games) is counted as one copy.

Well, in one of the 3DS interviews they quoted Yamauchi requesting from the staff to make the games pop out of the screen times ago. So 3DS could be considered his idea as well. :lolM.I.S. said:Considering both the Wiimote / motion control (initially mooted as a GCN add-on) and the touch screen DS were considered to be Yamauchi's ideas, I do wonder how Iwata, lauded as an astute businessman, will come up with worthy successors to Yamauchi's ideas. Iwata's mis-handling of the 3DS points to worrying signs.
Takao said:It's not like that matters too much, as it is coming to PSP this quarter.
Super late quote but now I had a chanhe to read the entire thread. There is a possibilitty Media Create has overtracked PSP Go. When it ran out of the initial shipment it was at 170k LTD at Media Create and at 150k at Famitsu with the initial shipment reported to be 150k.Mrbob said:I see PSP go is at 175K lifetime sales so Sony finally sold through their initial 150K shipment. Do we know how much shipment 2 is? Maybe 50K? Can the PSP Go hit the 200k mark? If it sells 350 a week it can be there in 18 months! Should we set 18 months as the bet line and do over/under? Holiday gives a little boost so 17 would make it more interesting!

I has a solid release list (that would be much better if Tales wasn't delayed) and in addition there isn't the big title for some other console except from Yakuza.
(In case this doesn't happen say bye bye to respectable sales until December)
They must remove everything earthquake related first. Still TBA.Dedication Through Light said:Did that get a release or is tales still indefinitely delayed?

Bebpo said:Yeah, plenty. Why buy a PSP2 when you can buy a PSP for cheaper and that plays all PSP games (since many major psp releases still do not have PSN versions).
I think Sony was stupid stupid stupid to not include a UMD drive and full BC. 99% of psp software sales in Japan are umd games. So to 99% of Japan, PSP2 will have no BC and be treated as a completely unique and separate platform with very few games at start compared to the massive library of the PSP.
Unless PSP2 launches with the next monster hunter, I don't see it taking off any faster than the 3DS in Japan.

KingDizzi said:Sony couldn't stick with UMD for the next generation just because some people have UMD'S they will not be able to use now, for one the biggie with UMD was that it sucked a lot of battery from the PSP. If it was added to NGP then that system would most probably have a horrible battery life, even now I'm worried. It's all about software though and that game which brought the PSP back from the dead in Japan. The MH port going to PSN is something I don't see doing much if anything since the game is on PSP but Sony will want a new MH game on NGP quickly. No idea how business works or how things are between Capcom and Sony but if it happens, Sony paying up for a NGP MP would seem likely.

Japan is entirely what supports the platform, so shunning them just seems idiotic. Could have at least had 2 models at launch, one that was $100 more and had a umd for BC. Or have an optional UMD drive accessory for full BC.

edit: I pray they don't call it PSP2. I like NGP
KingDizzi said:So what when they buy an NGP their PSP will spontaneously combust? Come on it's pretty clear why Sony went without the UMD and am sure they thought about having it in the NGP but opted against it. Reading the rest of what you said a UMD drive accessory should have happened, well I expected it. Must be a reason why they did noy bother. :/
