Considering last week it did more than last year, despite a lower GW, there's probably a reason for this week's drop. Maybe anticipation for SMTIV (the bundle)?

Ok, but 40k is still not bad at all for post GW period. PS2 was around 30k in its post GW period after its first two years, FYI. And, above all, since last week hardware sold actually more than last year, despite having a lower GW compared to 2012, I'm fairly confident the drop is due to SMTIV's anticipation.

Awful sales for everything including the 3DS. It's dippped tp its lowest ever sicne the price drop began which is kind of funny considering it probably did the same thing in America as well.

Seriously guys, awful sales would have been 15-20k, bad sales 25k. 40k in a week post GW period (always a slow period for sales) can't be considered awful by any stretch. Otherwise, PS2 sales in the post GW period after the first two years have always been more than awful, since they've been actually worse.

Holy crap. My eyes kind of skated pass the Wii U numbers. Well hey its only 4k away from the PS3. That's amazing guys...isn't it....isn't it?!!
I'm saying this because last week sales were around 50k and, above all, better than last year despite sales the week before (GW sales) being lower than last year. So, a much slower drop than last year.
Nah sales are very bad - 3DS can't do such numbers when the whole home market is depending on it to balance out the lackluster performance of the rest. Not even to compare it with the OG DS, but under 50 k sales should be avoided with the 3DS.

Nintendo really has pushed the boundaries on how terribly a company can handle their release schedule.
It will be interesting yo see later this summer if Wii U can maintain a healthy sell through when more games release or if it will always be stuck sub GameCube level due to the abysmal launch.

I wonder if Wii U will go below 5k. Actually, that's not really relevant. What I truly wonder is how PS4 will do in its first year in Japan -- whether console gaming as a whole is over or just Wii U. PS3 will at least limp to 10 million I guess.
Well, of the failing platforms Wii U has the distinction of not being either 6 years old or already declared unequivocally dead.Everything drops and has their worst week in a while and we focus on the Wii U.

It does happen and with sales already low it makes it alot more noticeable than when the 3DS was selling more. Anyway it doesn't matter much, with MH4 coming out, 3DS sales will easily surpass last year's.
Its post GW..3DS numbers are keeping up with last year's, one or two slow week doesn't matter much.

It's probably already there (i.e. the week in which we're in).
Not next week, since it has Valhalla Knights 3 coming out. Schedule looks soft until Toukiden comes out on June 27 afterwords.
Can't be there yet, since this week isn't even over!

Oh, does Vita have a game out in this tracking period?
Those two combined will maybe eradicate the 3DS XL that was released last year. It still has a chance to beat last year, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Probably around 2x 360 and 1/10th PS3.
This actually works pretty well:
-An object that is at rest will stay at rest unless an external force acts upon it.
