This will be the first time a home console will have 2 SKUs tracked seperately.
PlayStation X wasn't tracked separately back in the day?
Maybe because Japan will show less interest than west.
The only thing that was tracked seperately was PocketStation.
I meant the PS2+DVR hybrid, not the small PSone.
The answer is the same.
edit: There wasn't any reason for PSX to be tracked seperately, it was a standard PS2 at specs.
We get 3DS/XL model breakdowns (at least from MC) and that's identical hardware. PSX was branded as a different device and so much more expensive than the regular unit that I'm surprised it was lumped in with general PS2 numbers.
So is NSMB2 going to be roaring up the charts next week?
Just wake up and I haven't seen the conference. So, when are the Slim and Pro releasing in Japan?
The new Vita version rumor was nothing?

I doubt Mario games will benefit (if they do at all) until Super Mario Run actually releases.
This bode very well for Mario Maker 3DS however.
I think you meant YTD. LTD battle was over before it started.
PS4 Slim - September 15th | 29,980 Yen
PS4 Pro - November 10th | 44,980 Yen
Mario Maker 3DS + Super Mario Run both in December = master keikaku indeed.
Even if we talk about YTD, 3DS is easy gonna win.
3DS is 200k over PS4 this year, will be already a miracle if this gap remain stable, but the chances that PS4 outsells 3DS by over 200k this holidays are close to zero.

Nintendo's first paid mobile game will be Super Mario Run, coming first on iOS in 2016.
It has no IAPs, and it looks like a well made autorunner akin to the Rayman games on mobile.
It presumably won't be a hundreds of million (or billions) of dollars every year title like major f2p mobile hits, but I think making something like this paid is okay. Tetris did end up moving 425 million paid downloads on mobile at the $1+ range.
Unless you belong to the group of usual posters here who live in their own world, 5k was the expected pricecut after last year's additional 5k, 10k at once would give a bigger boost but things wouldn't be so different in the long run.
Which Nintendo franchises have the highest % of their sales in Japan anyway? (I guess we can look at 3DS/Wii U games for this)
I wonder who are developing this Mario game here huh.?.?
The team that’s developing Super Mario Run is actually mostly comprised of the original Super Mario development team. So [Takashi] Tezuka-san is the developer and I’m the producer. We’ve brought together the developers at Nintendo who know the side-scrolling Mario games best, to work with them to develop the best side-scrolling Mario game for a mobile device.

Just a tad over-dramatic.
PREDICTION PREDICTION LEAGUE PERSONA 5 EDITION
[PS4] Hardware (7 days) - 100k
[PS4] Persona 5 (4 days) - 450k
[PS3] Persona 5 (4 days) - 80k
Big launch for Persona coinciding with Slim, I think the stars just aligned for Persona with the 15 Sept launch

Atlus playing 4th dimensional chess against SQEX, thinking they could probably out sell FFXV.It can't be coincidence, Atlus probably got disclosed information.
The question is, why Persona and not FF tho?
Assuming of course, that the delay was a last moment thing.
Vita announcement would be at the Japan conference on the 13th.Just wake up and I haven't seen the conference. So, when are the Slim and Pro releasing in Japan?

I've been discussing exactly this.
First FFXV puts their release date 30 sep.
Then atlus, defying all logic puts their release date on 15 sep, everyone go nuts calling them madmen.
Then FFXV ends up delayed and the ps4 slim gets its release date on the 15 sep.
It can't be coincidence, Atlus probably got disclosed information.

In Japan, "limited quantities" generally means "we're not going to keep manufacturing this to keep it stocked in the long run". If there's no announced number of units, they generally produce based on retail demand, so there aren't really "lost" sales in that sense. Most people don't really care about a game themed bundle if they just want the console. The ones who do will be preordering and enquiring about it now.

39.980, you end up saving some 3.000 yen or so.
