Gaf has, in my opinion, some of the most thoughtful and well constructed posts in all of internetdom. Those of us who stayed after the jackasses left came into our own and found our voices. The snark and wit were beyond reproach. It is still here, if you know who to look for.
But, I miss chewing on threads for days thinking about what others were writing. If I never see another thread on a Star War or superhero I will be a happy man.
That feels a bit mean. I like that stuff, just like I enjoy playing games. But after the show or game or whatever is done, I move on. I don't obsess over this stuff. I don't care to think about what "The Mandalorian" will be in its next season. I will just see it when it comes out and enjoy it or not.
My interests have moved more towards boardgames lately because I want to be with actual people and interact. I see all of the people writing on here lately they feel like losers and whatnot and it makes me crazy. I think it's a problem of living inside of your own head and not actually being with other people. Open invitation to anyone on here, PM me if you live in CA. I would like to meet you and see you in person if we are able. Nobody has to be alone.

He’s a family friend. I’ve known him since I can remember.
He goes to the fruit and veg market on Sunday mornings and then does the rounds to a few buddies on his way back home. Always up for a scotch (or beer in summer). He’s in his 80s now. Wonderful bloke.
