Microsoft to stop shipping Xbox Series X to Brazil; Console now $1750

It seems that Microsoft is reducing the sales of it's mainline console in South America.

Two official stores confirmed that Microsoft was no longer restocking the Xbox Series X model in Brazil. However, an American distributor said that the quantity of consoles sent to Brazil had actually been reduced. As a result, the console can bew found in prices upwards of $2000

In a statement on the subject, Microsoft only said that players will be able to continue enjoying their console in different countries and that players in Brazil will be able to play on “their current consoles, PCs, with Game Pass and on smartphones, tablets or TVs with Xbox Cloud Gaming”.

R$ 10.000 for a dead console is ridiculous. Either gonna colect dust and rust or being stolen.
But to be completelly honest, it has being a long time since I saw a Xbox Series X here. You can find Xbox games and controllers, but the actual console is missing.

Weren’t they just bragging about 20+mil sales in Brazil back in 2023? Well that was fast.
All systems from their respective gen, original Xbox included you mean?

Idk, Brazil bros always slant to PS, I know X360 was big because of piracy, but other than that I don't see it

Ms probably going to start shipping a streaming box to these countries.

But really if I was in Brazil I'd buy a Neptune anyway. 😎

It's still available on amazon for the original price and a little cheaper on shopee. They will probably increase the price next month.

Funny enough, both Ps5 and Switch got price drops here in Brazil last year and discounts, while MS decided to increase the series consoles price and didn't give a single discount during black friday and Christmas.

Damn! If America’s visa system were simple, they could fly to the US, pick up an Xbox, spend a night at a nice hotel and head back for cheaper. But it isn’t.

At least a year ago, they could cross the Darien gap, navigate treacherous rivers, dodge reptiles, negotiate with gangs and make it all the way. Now they can’t.

There is no hope now. Sorry Brazil, just get a PS5? It’s an Xbox too!

Good morning xbox another great news to begin the day with. MS at least give a proper funeral to your failed hardware then you can go back to milking office and servers customers.

Yeah, it's over.

I’ll help them with the spin

“They’re flying off the shelves”
Maybe they never resumed production after shutting down the lines "for a quarter" in 2024:

Were they? Seems strange to pull the plug in a country where it's selling well. I figured it was selling poorly, so that's why they discontinued it.
I meant the worldwide numbers they presented in Brazil.

Oh. Numbers presented in Brazil, but not sold in Brazil. Yeah, that's an important distinction.

Well at least that makes sense now. I couldn't imagine them selling 20 million in Brazil alone.

Even if it's not the most popular console it sucks for Brazilian gamers to have fewer options.

I don't get it, over the last decade you've had completely opposite political parties in power and no one is willing to lower the retarded tariffs on imported goods? I get it for the products where there's actually a local industry you want to protect ...but consoles?

This will be their answer when they don’t have a console for next gen “play on “their current consoles, PCs, with Game Pass and on smartphones, tablets or TVs with Xbox Cloud Gaming”.”

What about my digital library? I said you can play on your current consoles.
