It seems that Microsoft is reducing the sales of it's mainline console in South America.​

Two official stores confirmed that Microsoft was no longer restocking the Xbox Series X model in Brazil. However, an American distributor said that the quantity of consoles sent to Brazil had actually been reduced. As a result, the console can bew found in prices upwards of $2000

In a statement on the subject, Microsoft only said that players will be able to continue enjoying their console in different countries and that players in Brazil will be able to play on “their current consoles, PCs, with Game Pass and on smartphones, tablets or TVs with Xbox Cloud Gaming”.​

They pretty much killed the One S and One X prematurely (no stock for half a year) then went "heres the new even less attractive Series S/X". Their strategy of cutting off distribution and manufacturing early isn't new to them and doesn't really mean much for their next machine.

Funny enough, both Ps5 and Switch got price drops here in Brazil last year and discounts, while MS decided to increase the series consoles price and didn't give a single discount during black friday and Christmas.
