On topic:

I know nothing about boxing but I can't see Tyson winning this. Watching him walking to the weigh in he looked like a stiff old man.

Watching him walking in with that jacket depicting him in his prime, it looks to me like a guy who's grimly selling the family silverware, going through the routine to get to the payday, rather than someone who's seriously expecting to go out with one last triumph. They'll both make a serious amount of money, but Tyson will be trading his reputation as fighter - Paul will continue on fighting interesting opponents either way.

IMO, Tyson very much the underdog. I would think everyone wants to see him win - Paul isn't particularly likeable as far as I can tell and also as far as I can tell, no boxing fans consider him a serious fighter. So it's hard to imagine many are backing him, but the betting odds show that people must be a decent split of people betting on each fighter.

I hope to be proved wrong, of course, it'd be nice to see the old guy triumph.

"Hey guys I know absolutely nothing about the topic at hand but here is my comprehensive explanation on what will happen and why it will happen."

Everyone wants to see Mikey knock Jake Paul the fuck out, but Jake is built like a tank and Mikey will be gassed in 2 minutes.

clearly you do indeed know nothing about boxing. watch him train.
Well, yeah. I think I said that, pretty clearly right?

Just passing a bit of time counting down to the weekend with some speculation on the story of the week.

I've seen Tyson training, I still think him winning would be the upset.

But Paul is actually a boxer himself.

Is he?

The only real boxer he's fought was part time boxer Tommy Fury. Paul lost that fight.

Beside that he's just been beating up washed up UFC fighters.

He's "boxing" record is a joke.

Jake can call himself a boxer when he has a professional licence and moves up the ranks. Until then he's a poor wannabe.

Tyson's cheap shot didn't even faze Paul.
Shouldn’t have stepped on his toe.

yeah exactly. He hasn’t boxed anyone with a decent resume in boxing.

He might be pretty good but that doesn’t mean you can box a 60 yo Mike Tyson

Take any physical sport and an above average athletic guy doesn’t want to be tackled by a retired ed Reed or Ray Lewis. Or try to tackle an old Marshawn Lynch.

The "light" slap could've stiffened Jake up a bit. Adrenaline and ego letting him posture in the moment.

Stepping on his foot seemed to perk Mike up. He seemed so mild before that, makes me wonder how's he gonna react to being attacked in the ring.

Iron Mike should get another nickname "Consequences", if he KOs the challenger.

It would probably be beneficial for most everyone if Mike wins. Might lessen lippy chucklehead behavior. Could be why they're cheering for him.

Yes, he is a professional boxer with an official record on BoxRec.

Jake beating Anderson Silva by UD in boxing was far impressive than Tyson's last boxing match (which was nothing more than an paltry exhibition) against a massively washed up Roy Jones Jr back in 2020.

Anderson was far less removed from his prime than Tyson is currently (literally 30 years removed from his prime), and not to mention Anderson just had the decent feat of getting a decision against boxing legend Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, and Jake beat that same version of Anderson by UD.

Tyson is absolutely the underdog here. He's old as dirt. Jake is younger, bigger, can crack pretty hard, and now has decent experience under his belt.

Don't be surprised if Tyson gets knocked out again for the first time since Danny Williams did him, a year before his first retirement.

I honestly don't give a shit who wins. It's a joke of a fight.

Jake is a professional boxer? My arse. Jake fought Tommy Fury, who let's be honest is an average part-time boxer, and lost. That's why you won't see him fight real boxers again. Because he'll lose. He's got average skills in the ring and knows deep down almost every professional boxer will kill him.

Anderson Silva? A retired MMA fighter who had to box? Please. That's not impressive at all. I wouldn't even be impressed if he beat Mike Tyson. Mike is 58 years old FFS. He's almost an old age pensioner. Also, as you've already stated, he didn't look great against Roy Jones Jr.

When Jake Paul starts fighting real boxers and challenging for titles, then I'll be impressed and call him a boxer, but we all know that's not going to happen. Jake would rather take the easy win against old men.

Jake is going to destroy this version of Tyson.

Yall know this right?

The man's prime was 30 years ago...

They're wearing these stupid gloves so no-one is going to destroy anyone. What we're going to watch tonight is a middle school pillow fight.

They'll probably both exit the ring like they just spent the day being pampered at a spa.

KSI is correct that this is a young mans game.

KSI should fight Paul next. He's in the thick of it, everybody knows.

I think he has the advantage in that he has years of footage of Tyson and how he fights, while Tyson won’t have much on Paul in return, so in a sense he doesn’t know who he’s facing.

Tyson though has instinct and experience, and he was a heavyweight champion boxer at 5’10…he was at physical disadvantage with everyone he fought. This isn’t anything new to him to an extent.

If I had money on it I’d bet Tyson.

Being a few inches shorter than your opponent is NOTHING compared to being 30 years older than your opponent.

I'm hoping when it goes live that Dolby Vision and Atmos kicks in.

They got NFL games on Christmas plus wwe Raw next year and it would be great if they went this route for live events.

Bernard Hopkins went way past his age limit and still won.
And if Tyson looked old and frail in training I wouldn’t think he’d win but he actually looks in really good shape.

TGO

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
If it was going 10 rounds I think Jake Paul would definitely have the advantage, but Mike usually puts them away early and suddenly.
But even if it's an endurance fight, Jake would have to endure Mike to win.
