Apparently rumor has it Pirates made a better offer for Price but more in the line of prospects which I guess Rays wanted closer to MLB ready? idk.

Wonder what our final offer was.
I heard the core pieces were Josh Bell and Glasnow. Id imagine someone like Tabata or Snider, and maybe a C prospect tacked on.

Guess that's it for Beckett. Didn't he only last 5 innings his last game?
So wait, they turned down Bell/Glasnow + others, and ended up with Frankln/Smyly + that young Detroit shortstop?
Hard to believe that's true, but lol if it is.
lol if they turned down Bell/Glasnow and other prieces. Maybe we dodged a bullet there
Word on the street is they think they'll be competitive next season, which is probably true, and were looking for immediate MLB talent and not prospects. It's probably true considering I think most teams could have beat the Tigers package if prospects came in to play. Personally, I would have taken Bell and Glasnow, and tried to flip them considering both of their stocks are soaring atm.
I'm kind of glad as well. As today shows, we're not one piece away to competing, let alone that one piece being a pitcher... since our run support is bipolar
I have a feeling we were trying to trade Hanson too. We just transitioned him over to 2B, which leads me to believe that we were trying to artificially inflate his value by keeping him at SS.
If we come away from this without a run...
Edit: I'll take it!
But Bell is probably going to crack the majors at some point next season anyway. Glasnow will probably need another year between AA and AAA. And yeah, those guys are gonna have major value this offseason. If you want major league ready talent for next year, they would get a much better return on them than Smyly/Franklin.Word on the street is they think they'll be competitive next season, which is probably true, and were looking for immediate MLB talent and not prospects. yep, he's done.. his hip isn't holding up
him and haren get rocked and then kill the bullpen every time
ned needs to work his waiver magic
But Cutch just went into the clubhouse holding his back
Better not be from getting beaned yesterday...
I'm watching the game on ESPN's boxscore/gamecast since I'm not home atm :/
ESPN making the Drew trade like it's the new curse, lol.
Fuck The Pirates for fucking my fantasy team. I hope they don't make the playoffs for another 20 years.

Whose on your fantasy team? Honestly, as a Pirates fan, the only player I trust to be consistent is Cutch.
Sigh.
Wow, surprised Hurdle brought Melancon. Shows how much our bullpen sucks, because Hurdle will give up bubble gum before bringing out his closer in a tied game.
That actually looked fine to me.lolololol dbacks allowed to block the ball with their arm to block a double play to get out the inning. fuck it all.
