What options did he have, realistically? Delabar isn't much outside of one inning. Would you have prefered Brad Lincoln?
We have Janssen.
I kinda wish the DH was in the NL now. Having Mccann and Gattis in the lineup is a nice luxury to have.
Too much movement. Zero control right now.
The Astros' (insert position here) is not very good at catching pop flies.
Haha, true enough, but I've only been casually flipping to the game, and have seen him misplay two already.Fixed.
Yea, channel 7 news said it should be good.weather forecast is looking up; maybe they can actually get the game in tonight
So which Reds player is gonna get dinged today?
This whole situation is ridiculous. Chapman wasn't throwing at Swisher. Period.
Michael Pineda left today’s Extended Spring Training rehab start with a crack fingernail, Joe Girardi announced. His arm is fine but it sounds like he will have to be shut down for a few days, meaning the start of his official 30-day rehab assignment figures to be delayed. For what it’s worth, Girardi said Pineda was throwing the ball “very well.”
I read Pineda shut down and thought "you have got to be fucking kidding me." Thankfully it's only a cracked fingernail.
Cliff Lee is in the DH tonight. Lol
Wedge was talking about Ackley's demotion to Triple-A and his mental approach, and he intimated that Ackley might have been too concerned with pitch selectivity and high on-base percentage, leading to a one-liner that hit on one of baseball's most intriguing ongoing philosophical battles.
"It's the new generation. It's all this sabermetrics stuff, for lack of a better term, you know what I mean?" Wedge said. "People who haven't played since they were 9 years old think they have it figured out. It gets in these kids' heads."
Never mind it's Delmon Young. CSN was putting up a lineup earlier that was wrongDamn Charlie is trolling his own team now. Why not Nix at least?
I kinda wish the DH was in the NL now. Having Mccann and Gattis in the lineup is a nice luxury to have.
We need a unified rule one way or the other.
If the DH is removed, I'd like to see rosters expanded to 28.
I'll never understand the desire to see a pitcher bat. Bunting is so thrilling.
this. So fucking stupid to see rallies end for no reason.I'll never understand the desire to see a pitcher bat. Bunting is so thrilling.
Agreed. I think we should stay as is. Other option is full DH.MLBPA will never support the removal of the DH.
i don't really care about watching a pitcher hit but every player should have to hit and field their position. No exceptions.I'll never understand the desire to see a pitcher bat. Bunting is so thrilling.
Only a couple more weeks for that to become a possibility.Unless your pitcher is Carlos Zambrano, you should not be okay with a pitcher in the line-up. And if you have Carlos Zambrano as your pitcher, you have even more to worry about.
Following today's loss, the Blue Jays optioned Thad Weber to AAA and DFA'd Ramon Ortiz.
Weather forecast is (big surprise) changing. Now the feeling is that another band of rain will pass over Citi Field. Maybe 9 p.m-range start

No. He gathered dust and was let go because he couldn't hit.I prefer actually having backups that can actually contribute to the game instead of rotting on the bench and seeing managers actually have to use some strategy. Ramiro Pena is a great example. He's been kicking ass for the Braves, whereas he totally gathered dust on the Yankees bench because of the DH.
And come on, you can't tell me it wouldn't be great entertainment watching Ron Washington manage with no DH for 162 games a year.
